DESIGN FOR CARPET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,224, dated April 16, 1895.

Application filed March 18. 1896. Serial No. 542,266- Term of patent 3% years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ARTHUR MIDDLETON ROSE, residing at Yonkers, county of W'estchester, State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Pattern to be Wrought into Wilton and other Carpetings in such coloring as may be de' signed; and I do hereby declare that the drawing accompanying this specification gives and conveys to any one skilled in the art of carpet weaving and manufacture a clear understanding of the same, and is suflicient to enable such person to use my invention.

The design consists of a body A and a border B.

The body A is decorated with a geometric figure, or gem, appearing at regular intervals upon a shaded background.

The border 13 consists of a narrow band for lll'QS. 2

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. In adesign for a carpet, the body A, substantially as shown.

2. In a design for a carpet, the border 13, 3

substantially as shown.

3. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A, and the border B, substantially as shown.
