DESIGN FOR CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming pazt of Design No. 24,618, dated August 20, 1895. Application filed July 12, 1895. Serial No. 555,767. Term of patent 3%years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, AROHIBALD F. REDDIE, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Phila delphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Carpet or other Fabric, of which the following, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, is a specification.
The peculiar or distinctive appearance which when imparted to a carpet or other fabric constitutes my invention may be best described by means of illustration. Accordingly, for the sake of a further description reference is made to the accompanying drawing, which clearly shows my design, and in whicha is the body, I) the border, and a carpet.
The leading or characteristic feature or features of my design may be said to be the ornament c, scrolls d, and decorations e, dis
5 the played upon a background f, and in the drawing associated with bands g, h, 'i, and j. 0bviously the above mentioned design, which is illustrated in the drawing, may be wrought in Brussels, Wilton, velvet, or other carpet, and in such colors or combinations of colors as may be desired.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. In the design for carpet the body a, substantially as shown.
2. In a design for carpet the border b, substantially as shown.
3. The design for carpet consisting of the body a, and the border I), substantially as shown.
