SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,596, dated June 2, 1896.

lie it known that I, CHARLES FREDERICK GEDNEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design to be Wrought into Wilton and other Carpeting in such coloring as may be designed, of which the following is a specification.

'lhisinvention comprises two parts-namely, the design A for a carpet-body and the design B for aborder; and 1 do hereby declare that the drawing accompanying this specification gives and conveys to any one skilled in the art of carpet \Yrfl ring and manufacture a clear understanding of same, and is sulficient to enable such person to use my invention.

The body A shows irregular oral-shaped figures on a shaded background.

The border 15 shows similar figures to those in the body, with a larger fan-shaped figure and open scrolls.

hat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. In a design for a carpet, the body A, substantially as shown.

2. In a design for a carpet, the border ll, substantially as shown.

3. The design forearpets, consisting of the body A and the border 13, substantially as shown.
