To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that 1, WILLIAM MCCALLUM, a resident of Yonkers, in the county of Westchester and State of New York, have invented and produced, by my own industry, genius, efforts, and expenses. new and original Design for :1. Carpet, of which the following is a full description, in connection with the accompanying photograph, which represents a face view of my-newldesign for a carpet.

This invention relates to a new ornamentation of the face of a carpet, oil-cloth, or analogous fabric.

In the accompanying photograph are represented the various parts which enter into my new design.

A is a rosette,

from which extend, carried by slender stems,

fanciful leaves B B and 0.

By a. stem, a, the rosette A connects with another rosette, D. The rosette A is embraced 20 by a slender curvilinear stem, E, one end of which branches out and carries the fanciful leaves F F and the leaf-like figure G. From the figure G a stem, 1 extends to a. group of rosettes, H 11. near which is the rosette D. 25 Another stem, d, from the figure G carries a fanciful figure, I, from which starts the curvilinear stem E.

I. claim-- The design for acarpet, the same consisting 0 of the figures A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, a, b, and 11, substantially as shown.
