Be it known that I, CHARLES MAGEE, of Brooklyn, Kings county, and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for a Carpet, of which the following is a specification.
The accompanying photogralihic illustration represents a face view of my newlyvdesigned carpet.
This invention relates to a new and original design for carpets, oil-cloths, and similar fabries.
It consists of the new ornamentation and grouping of the figures hereinafter more fully described.
The groundwork of this carpet isA divided into three fields or spaces, A, B, and C, of irregular shape, and without clearly-defined The fields A, B, and C are to be of di'erent color. The tield C extends beneath both the fields A and B.
The carpet is ornamented by a multitude .of small figures arranged upon the fields A B C. Several of these ornaments extend from one field into the other, and several form the boun daries between the fields. Thus the field A is ornamented by a rich floral group, a; the eid B by another tloral group, b, and by an group b and figures d @substantially as sho wn.V
