DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 15,392, dated September 9,1884.
Application filed June 30, 1884. Term of patent 3; years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be itknown that 1, JOHN BELLA MY GEoRc E,
a resident of N 0. 37 Highbnry Hill, in the county of Middlesex, England, have invented 5 and produced a new and original Design for a Carpet, of which the following is a full de scription, in connection with the accompanying photograph, which represents a face View of my new design for a carpet.
This invention relates to a new ornamentation of the face of a carpet, oil-cloth, or analogons fabric.
In the accompanying photograph are rep resented the various parts which enter into I 5 my new design.
The stripe A contains representations of ornamental flowers ea, somewhat resembling the flowers of the chrysanthemum-plant, the stems of said flowers starting from an orna :0 mental band, I), and bearing deeply-serrated leaves. A row of arches, c c, is placed above the flowers a a, the arches being joined to each other by a rosette, from which an ornamental flower, d, with a set of leaves at its ste1n,rises.

1 The part 13 contains the ornamental flowers f f, resembling somewhat the flowers of the chrysanthemum plant, having interlocking leaflets, and between them sprays g 7, with 30 deeply-serrated leaves and buds.
I claim 1. The design for a carpet, the same consisting of the stripe A, containing the ornamental bands I) and c, the ornamental flowers a a and 3 5 (Z d, and arches c c, substantially as shown.
2. The design for a carpet, the same con sisting of the part B, having the flowers f f, with interlocking leaflets, and sprays g 9, sub stantially as shown.
3. The design for a carpet, the same consisting of the stripe A and the part 1), substantially as shown.
This foregoing specification of my invention for new and original design for carpet signed 45 by me this 10th day of March, 1884.
