SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 18,562, dated August 28, 1888.
Application filed August 3, i888. Serial To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, LOUIS CLEMENQET, a citizen of the United States, residing at W'est Hoboken, Hudson county, State of New Jersey, have invented a certain new and useful Design for Hangings, of which the following is aspecifieation, reference being had to the accompanying photograplnwhich forms a part hereof.
The invention relates to a design to be placed upon the surface of paper or other suitable material used as hangings to decorate walls, &c.
The accompanying photograph is a face view of part ota hanging, showing my complete design applied thereto. This design will generally be repeated many times; and it will be observed that in the photograph the extreme lower part contains a repetition of the upper part.
The design consists ol'a combination of forms representing flowers, leaves, and branches. The branches are intertwined and follow an No. QBLBJI. Term of patent 35 years.
undulating line in general conlou r. The Howers are arranged in bunches, and these bunches are alternately placed to the right and left of thebranches. Some of these bunches of [lowers are large and form prominent parts of the design,while the rest of the bunchesaresmaller and are placed at intervals between thelarger bunches and leaves. The leaves are gencrall y long and pointed, and are irregularly interspersed between the (lower bunches, being supported on short stems projecting from the branches. They are of different sizes and are shown in various positions.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for hangings, consisting of the design substantially as shown.
