DESIGN FOR CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,194, dated. March 22, 1881. I Application filed February 19, 1881. Term of patent 3?; years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WILLIAM MoUALLUM, of Yonkers, in the county of WVestchester and State of New York, have invented anew and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for carpets and similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel grouping and configuration of figures, hereinafter more fully described.
The accompanying photograph illustrates a face iew of a carpet having my new design.
0 is a vine-like figure, bearing the flowering branch m, bearing also the branch t, having on it leaves and flowers and terminating in an open flower; also, the leafy spray l, with hanging. flowers thereon; also, the cluster of flowers d.
G is a vine-like group containing figure 0, resembling the root of the vine; also, figuref, a leafy branch; also, figure g, a branch bearing leaves and circular widely-open flowers.
The regular repetition of these figures upon a patterned background makes up the design.
I claim- 1. The design for carpets, consisting of the figure d, substantially as shown.
2. The design for carpets, consisting of the figure m, substantially as shown.
3. The design for carpets, consisting of the figure 4 substantially as shown.
4. The design for carpets, consisting of the figures C,m, i, l, and (Z, substantially as shown.
5. The design for carpets, consisting of the figure 0, substantially as shown.

7. The design for carpets, consisting of the figure g, substantially as shown.
8. The design for carpets, consisting of the group G, containing figures 0,], and g, substantially as shown.
9. The design for carpets, consisting of the figures 0, m, i, l, d, and group G, containing figures o,f, and g, substantially as shown.
