. Be it known that 1, WILLIAM McCALLUM,
of Yonkers, in the county of Westchester and.
State of NewYork, have invented and produced anew and original Design for aOarpet, of which the following is a full description, in connection with the accompanying photograph, which represents aface view of mynew design for acarpet.
This invention relates to a new configuration of groups by which the body of a carpet or analogous fabric is decorated.
At the upper and lower parts of the photo graph are shown groups A A of conventional flowers, which are placed in a field that is in part embraced by a-scroll, B, in an angle of which is the conventional leaf on; From the scroll B extends the scroll G, which embraces the acorn-like figure b, and which, bythe quadrangular dotted border 12, connects with the At the i left of the scroll B is the floral-ornament f,
This border d ispartly and above that the floral ornament g, that appears to grow out of the rosettes 6. Above 2 5 these rosettes is afanciful scroll, D, containing the stem of a twig, E, which extends into a field, F, of irregular outline. rlt the right of the scroll D is thegroup h of leaves and clus ters of fruit, above which is the bracket-like o figure G. Above the field F is an angular field, H, out of which the floral decoration A appears to" emanate, and at the left of this figure H is the scroll I, which embraces a group of flowers and leaves, '5. 3 5
The entire design, taken as a whole, has an oriental effect, and appears very fanciful and rich to the eye.
