DESIVGN FOR CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,268, dated May 17, 1881.
Application filed February 8, 1881. Term of patent 35 years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHN B. NEIL, of New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for carpets and similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel grouping and configu- 1o ration of figures hereinafter more fully de scribed.
The accompanying photograph illustrates a face view of a carpet having my new design.
B is a group containing the figure a, comr5 posed of roses and small circular flowers and leaves; also, the figure p, a branch bearing roses; also, the figure (1, a branch with oval leaves; also, the moss-like sprays f.
D is a figure made up of a center of circular flowers and surrounding leaves, with a branch bearing fiowertufts projecting from one side, while from the opposite side project moss-like sprays like those of the figure f, already described.
A is a figure containing a center of partlyopen roses, and having projecting from it the leafybranch i, the branch h with moss-like tufts, and the flowers l set on slender stems.
O is a figure composed of a flower-center,
0 from which project the leafy branch 0, the
branch 0 bearing leaves and flowers, and the branch 9 bearin g circular flowers and projecting sprays.
G is the patterned background, over which are scatteredin regular order the groups and figures described.
I claim- 1. Thedesign for carpets,consistingof group B, containing figures a, d, f, and p, substantially as shown.
2. The design for carpets, consisting of the figure A, substantially as shown.
3. The design for carpets, consisting of the figures A, h, i, and l, substantially as shown.
4. The design for carpets, consisting of the figure D, substantially as shown.
5. The design for carpets, consisting of the figure G, substantially as shown.
6. The design for carpets, consisting of the figure C, substantially as shown.
7. The design for carpets, consisting of the figures O, 0, c, and g, substantially as shown.
8. The design for carpets, consisting of the group B, containing figures a dfp, figures A t l h, C 0 eg,D, and G, substantially as shown.
