SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,451, dated March 28, 1899. Application filed December 29, 1898. Serial No 700,663. Term of patent Si years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it'known that 1, ANDREW Gt GREIG, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpeting, of which the following is a specification.

My design, as shown in the drawing, consists in a new design for carpeting.

The design is characterized by large shieldlike figures bounded by ornamental scroll and leaf-like outlines and bearing upon their face a central bouquet of flowers. In association with said shield-like figures festoons of flowers and foliage are arranged, sometimes depending from the shield-like figures and sometimes connecting adjacent shield-like figures. The whole is arranged upon a suit able background.

The design is suggestive of tho roooco period of ornamentation.

What I claim as new, by Letters Patent, is-

The design for carpeting substantially as shown and described.
