To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM MCCALLUM, of Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates toa new and original design for carpets and similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel grouping and configuration of parts, hereinafter more fully described.
The accompanying photograph illustrates a face view of a carpet having my new design.
H is a stripe containing an ornamentation of diamond-shaped figures set on one end side by side along its upper edge, and below this row of diamond figures is a series of bars running obliquely.
The stripe G contains a panel, g, with flowerlike ornamentation thereon, and also a smaller panel,f, likewise bearing flower-like ornamentation. Along the bottom of the stripe G runs a scalloped line, within which is set a series of flower-like figures. Below this line, and 1111- der the panel g, is the panel I, having a vase apparently containing a large bunch of flowering plants, and the panel J, set just below the panel f, contains a figure resembling a thick vine with leaves and stems. The panels g and I are separated from the panels f and J by the vertical stripe it, having a zigzag ornamentation along its length.
Below the stripe G runs a band, L, containing an ornamentation composed of small thickly-set rectangular figures separated at intervals by a leafy branch.
I claim 1. The design for carpets, consisting of the band H, substantially as shown.
2. The design for carpets, consisting of the figure I, substantially as shown.
3. The design for carpets, consisting of the figure J, substantially as shown.
4. The design for carpets, consisting of the stripe G, containing figures g,f, I, J, and h, subs antially as shown.
5. he design for carpets, consisting of the band H, stripe G, containing figures g, f, I, J, and h, and band L, substantially as shown.
