DESIGN FOR A CARP ET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,188, dated March 15, 1881.
Application filed February 7, 1881. Term of patent 3} years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN B. NEIL, of New York, county of New York, and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a speci fication.
This invention relates to a new and original design for carpets and similar fabrics; and it consist in the novel grouping and configuration of figures hereinafter more fully described.
The accompanying photograph illustrates a face View of a carpet having mynew design.
B is a stripe containing rectangular figures, alternating with circular figures.
H is a stripe containing the group D, composed of the rose-like flowers 3', with the leaves f branching out beneath them, and the leafy projecting branches at and b. The figure d, containing circular flowers and leafy sprays, is also in the stripe H.
The stripe 9 contains a row of circular figures, and lies between the stripe D and the stripe E, which last contains a row of fan-like figures, 6, having small figures h projecting between their stems.
I clain1- 1. The design for carpets, consisting of the stripe B, substantially as shown.
2. The design for carpets, consisting of the group D, containing figures f, j, a, and b, substantially as shown.
3. The design for carpets, consisting of the figures f and j, substantially as shown.
4. The design for carpets, consisting of the figure d, substantially as shown.
5. The design for carpets, consisting of the stripe H, containing figures f j b a d, substantially as shown.
6. The design for carpets, consisting of the stripe g, substantially as shown.
7 The design for carpets, consisting of the stripe E, containing figures h and i, substantially as shown.
8. The design for carpets, consisting of the stripes E and g, substantially as shown.
9. The design for carpets, consisting of the stripe B, stripe H, containing figures b j f a d, stripe g, and stripe E, containing figures h and i, substantially as shown.
