To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, ARTHUR L. HALLIDAY, of New York, county and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specificatiOll.

The accompanying photograph illustrates my new design for carpets.

This invention. relates to a new design for carpets, oil-oloths, and analogous fabrics; and it consists of the new ornamentation of parts herein more fully pointed out.

A represents a branch of flowers with its leaves, the leaves being of the peculiar outline shown, and the flowers being placed 011 very slender stems. B is another group or branch of flowers and leaves of the peculiar appearance shown. 0 is a substantially square figure composed entirely of rosettes a, that are arranged in vertieal and horizontal lines, as
