Be it known that l, Airrnon ll. HALLIDAY, of New York city, in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is specification, reference being bad to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.

Theaceompanyi up photograph is a face view of a carpet showing my new design.
My design consists ol'a body portion, A, and a border, B.
The body portion A has a continuous main stem light in character and curving back and forth with more or less regularity, hearing at intervals groups of tlowers and leaves varying in size. From this main stem project long slender stems curving around in semicircular forms and supporting smaller leaves and clus ters of small gem or star-shaped flowers, and in some places larger flowers and leaves. Around most of the curving branch stems are rows or groups of ornamental forms covered with open-Work, or of small skeleton flower forms. A few other small ornamental forms occur in the intervening spaces.
Serial No, Mild-ll.
The border portion 13 has an in nor margin ornamented with leaf forms and other small tigures. The middle part of the border has a cluster of leaves and flowers. with larger liow- 35 ers above and on each side of the center of the cluster. Long slender curving stems project from each side, hearing small leaves, some of i them being; supplemented with a row of ornamental forins covered with open work, as in 40 the body portion of the design. Alternating with these clusters or groups are smaller elus ters of leaves and small [lowers supported on t a central stem having curved branches at the ARTHUR L. HALLIDAY.
