Be itknown that 1, CHARLES A. A represents the center, and B the border.
The main portion of the border consists of a row of medallions,C,with ornamental edges. the medallions having a contrasting ground and displaying each a daisy with stennsproy, and leaves, which show the color of the body of the ware on which they are placed. Between the medallions, and around them, are daisies with intertwined leaves and stems to a width greater than the length of a medallion, and forming a continuous filling throughout the entire border. Outside of this portion of the border, and at or near the edge of the plate or other dish, is a waved or scalloped border, I), each scallop representing a perspective view of half of a daisy, nnd showing a part of its center and the ends of the petals turned toward the eye.
The center ornament consists of a. circular medallion, E, with contrasting ground, displaying in its center a spread daisy with sprays and leaves surrounding it. Surrounding this medallion is a circle, from. which spread out ornamental arms or extensions E, each terminating in a. daisy, while springing from between these arms, and alternating with the daisies, are sprays and leaves.
The leading features of my design are the combining of medallions, daisies, sprays, and the scalloped border-line in a border, and also the ornamental center-piece and its arrangco ment relatively with the border.
