To all whom 'it may concern:

Be it known that I, EDUARD LEIssNER, of New York, in the count and State of New York, have invented a. new and original Design for \Vall-lhiper, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a new and original design for wall-paper and similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel grouping and configuration ot' figures hereinafter more fully described.

The accompanying photograph illustrates a. face-view of wallpaper having my new design.

The figure A A A is composed of a zigzag or step-like stripe, presenting the appearance of a series of steeply-inclined steps or stairs running up and down and leaving alternate upper and lower openings, in which openings appear the bellshaped [lowers or ornaments B B B. The flowers 13, which occupy the upper openings between the steps A, contain in their open cups the circular half-rosettes C. These flowers B, which occupy the lower openings, form a group consisting of the flower 13, a circular half-rosette, (J, in the cup thereof, a. small cup-like flower, a, projecting from the half-rosette C, and the two bell-shaped flowers e 6, one on each side of the flower B. A vine, D 1), with cup-like flowers d 61 upon it, intertwines with the figure A and joins the edges of the figures B B B. Stripes E E, contain ing arectangular pattern running between two K parallel bars, serve to divide the designs when repeated to form the wall-paper. These stripes 5 are partly covered at intervals by the bellshapcd flowers d e.

The effect of my novel design as a whole is that of a series of steep steps with a vine upon them, running up and down between two par- 40 allel ornamented stripes, and having the upper and lower interstices between the steps occupied by bell shaped flowers and their or namentation.
