DESCRIÇÃO
PRÓTESE DE DISCO INTERVERTEBRAL 0 invento refere-se a uma prótese de disco intervertebral, destinada a ser substituída por discos fibrocartilaginosos que proporciona a ligação entre as vértebras da coluna vertebral. São conhecidos do estado da técnica diferentes tipos de prótese de disco intervertebral. Inúmeras próteses, tais como, por exemplo, as descritas nos pedidos de patente WO 02 089 701 e WO 2004/041129, são constituídas por uma placa inferior e uma placa superior criando uma gaiola articulada em torno de um núcleo central. Outras próteses, tais como as reveladas na patente US 5676701 e no pedido de patente WO 03/059212 Al, por exemplo, compreendem apenas uma placa inferior e uma placa superior articuladas em torno de si próprias por meio de uma superfície de articulação. Estas próteses articuladas têm a vantagem de oferecer ao doente que as usa uma liberdade de movimento, por permitirem que as placas inclinem e/ou rodem uma em relação à outra. As próteses que compreendem um núcleo central, móvel entre as placas, têm a vantagem acrescida de permitir um posicionamento espontâneo do núcleo na posição ideal, para absorver as restrições impostas à prótese. Nestas próteses conhecidas do estado da técnica, os bordos anterior, posterior e lateral de uma placa estão localizados no mesmo eixo vertical que o bordo correspondente da outra placa. Esta forma da prótese deve-se, normalmente, ao facto das placas terem dimensão idênticas e os seus eixos de articulação respectivos serem unidos (coaxialmente) , para facilitar os movimentos do doente e para permitir a 1 ΕΡ1968500Β1 correcção de possíveis defeitos de posicionamento. No entanto, estas próteses têm o inconveniente de não serem perfeitamente adequadas à morfologia da coluna vertebral. De facto, os bordos posteriores de duas vértebras adjacentes estão muitas vezes ligeiramente deslocados entre si. Assim, as próteses conhecidas do estado da técnica são difíceis de ser implantadas adequadamente. Além disso, quando em repouso, devido ao deslocamento natural das vértebras e à fixação das placas nas vértebras, as diferentes partes da prótese estão sob restrição numa posição indesejável, uma vez que restringe a liberdade de movimento destas partes da prótese. Este inconveniente diminuirá com a utilização de um núcleo móvel entre as placas, mas os possíveis movimentos do núcleo serão limitados e a sua capacidade de posicionamento para absorver as restrições impostas na prótese serão, por isso, menores.
Também são conhecidos, a partir do estado da técnica, através do pedido de patente EP 1 250 898 Al, próteses de disco intervertebral que compreendem duas placas articuladas em torno de um núcleo central, em que as dimensões de uma das placas, pelo menos num dos seus bordos, são superiores às dimensões da outra placa. Esta diferença de dimensões das placas resulta num deslocamento dos bordos das placas, mas tem o inconveniente de também resultar num deslocamento do eixo de articulação das placas. Além disso, este tipo de prótese tem o inconveniente de uma das suas placas poder ser, eventualmente, demasiado grande, comparada com a placa da vértebra ou, pelo contrário, a outra placa poder ser menor do que a placa vertebral e, assim, não assentar na periferia da placa mas numa parte menos sólida, correndo assim a prótese o risco de danificar a placa vertebral. Também é conhecido do estado da técnica, através do pedido 2 ΕΡ1968500Β1 de patente US20040158254, próteses de disco intervertebral de acordo com o preâmbulo da reivindicação 1.
Neste contexto, é benéfico propor-se uma prótese que permita encaixar-se mais eficientemente ao perfil da coluna vertebral e, assim, atingir totalmente os objectivos a que se propôs, oferendo uma superfície de articulação. 0 objectivo do invento consiste em ultrapassar alguns dos inconvenientes do estado da técnica, propondo uma prótese de disco intervertebral que compreende pelo menos duas placas, cada uma delas suportando pelo menos um bordo deslocado em relação ao mesmo bordo da outra placa.
Este objectivo é atingido com uma prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com a reivindicação 1.
Outras características vantajosas do invento são definidas nas reivindicações dependentes.

As figuras 5A, 5B e 5C são, respectivamente, uma vista em perspectiva, uma vista por cima e uma vista lateral de uma prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com diferentes formas de realização do invento. 0 invento refere-se a uma prótese de disco intervertebral que compreende pelo menos duas placas (1, 2) deslocadas entre si para seguir mais eficientemente a anatomia da coluna vertebral. Tal como explicado no preâmbulo deste pedido, as vértebras estão normalmente ligeiramente 4 ΕΡ1968500Β1 deslocadas entre si, pelo que os seus bordos, por exemplo posteriores, não estão alinhados verticalmente. A prótese de acordo com o invento é assim concebida para que os bordos das placas (1, 2) não sejam alinhados verticalmente e tenham um ligeiro deslocamento correspondendo a um deslocamento entre os bordos das vértebras entre as quais a prótese se destina a ser introduza. 0 deslocamento das vértebras poderia ser medido previamente com precisão, para escolher uma prótese cujo deslocamento das placas (1, 2) correspondesse perfeitamente ao deslocamento das vértebras.
Cada uma das placas (1 e 2) da prótese de acordo com o invento compreende um centro geométrico (G1 e G2), respectivamente, que pode ser definido, de uma forma geral, por um ponto a uma distância igual dos dois pontos diametralmente opostos localizados na periferia das placas (1, 2) . Normalmente, as placas das próteses de disco intervertebrais têm uma forma relativamente simples, e o seu centro geométrico pode estar a igual distância de todos os pontos localizados na periferia das placas.
Independentemente das próteses, um centro geométrico pode ser definido por um ponto ou por uma superfície localizados a igual distância dos bordos da placa. Os centros geométricos (Gl, G2) das placas (1, 2) da prótese de acordo com o invento não estão alinhados verticalmente, mas estão deslocados entre si pelo menos numa direcção, por exemplo, antero-posterior, perpendicular ao eixo vertical da coluna vertebral. As duas placas (1, 2) de uma única prótese de disco intervertebral têm, normalmente, substancialmente a mesma dimensão, e este deslocamento (D) dos centros geométricos (Gl, G2) das placas gera um deslocamento dos bordos das placas (1, 2) . No caso de uma prótese cujas placas não tenham a mesma dimensão, prevê-se o deslocamento 5 ΕΡ1968500Β1 dos bordos das placas (1 e 2) , e os centros geométricos (Gl, G2) estarão ainda mais deslocados entre si.
Nas diferentes formas de realização descritas abaixo, a prótese compreende pelo menos duas placas (1 e 2) , chamadas primeira (1) e segunda (2) placas, articuladas entre si por meio de uma superfície curva (11, 31) chamada articulação, de pelo menos uma das placas. Esta superfície curva (11, 31) de articulação permite articular as placas (1, 2) entre si, através da rotação em torno de um eixo substancialmente perpendicular ao plano das placas e/ou da inclinação das placas (1, 2) entre si, através da rotação em torno de um eixo substancialmente ao longo do plano das placas (1, 2) .
Cada uma das placas (1, 2) compreende uma superfície (14, 24) conhecida como superfície de contacto, destinada a estar em contacto com uma placa vertebral de uma das vértebras entre as quais a prótese se destina a ser introduzida. Por motivos de clareza o centro geométrico será definido de agora em diante em relação a esta superfície de contacto, mas deve entender-se que é o eixo vertical que passa através do centro geométrico que conta no princípio do invento, e que a posição exacta do centro geométrico na largura das placas não tem relevância. Nas diferentes formas de realização abaixo descritas, cada uma das placas (1, 2) compreende, por isso, um centro geométrico (Gl, G2), a igual distância de pelo menos dois pontos diametralmente opostos localizados na periferia da placa (1, 2) . Os centros geométricos (Gl, G2) das placas (1, 2) não estão alinhados verticalmente, e este deslocamento (D) dos centros geométricos (Gl, G2) das placas gera um deslocamento dos bordos das placas (1, 2) pelo menos numa direcção perpendicular ao eixo vertical da coluna vertebral. 6 ΕΡ1968500Β1
Na forma de realização representada nas figuras 2A, 2B, 2C, 3C e 3D, a prótese compreende apenas dois elementos: duas placas (1, 2). Neste caso, a segunda placa (2) compreende uma superfície curva (31) de articulação em que pelo menos uma secção coopera com uma superfície curva (11) de articulação da primeira placa (1), da qual é complementar. A cooperação destas superfícies curvas (11, 31) de articulação permite articular e/ou inclinar as placas (1, 2) entre si. Pode ser definido um centro C de articulação alinhado verticalmente com o vértice da superfície curva (31) de articulação da segunda placa. Este centro (C) de articulação corresponde à posição intermédia do centro da superfície curva (11) da primeira placa (1) , comparada com a segunda placa (2) . Na forma de realização ilustrada nas figuras, a superfície curva (11) da primeira placa (1) é côncava, e a superfície curva (31) de articulação da segunda placa (2) é convexa, mas pode acontecer que a superfície curva (11) da primeira placa (1) seja convexa e que a superfície curva (31) de articulação da segunda placa (2) seja côncava.
Na forma de realização ilustrada nas figuras IA a 1C, 3A, 3B e 5A a 5C, a prótese também compreende um núcleo (3) tendo uma superfície plana (33) e uma superfície curva (31) de articulação. No caso de uma prótese com três elementos, apenas a primeira placa (1) compreende uma superfície curva (11) de articulação, e esta superfície coopera pelo menos com uma secção da superfície curva (31) do núcleo (3) do qual é complementar, para permitir rodar e/ou inclinar as placas (1, 2) entre si. A superfície plana (33) do núcleo (3) coopera pelo menos com uma secção de uma superfície plana (23) da segunda placa (2) , para permitir uma translação do núcleo (3) em relação à segunda placa (2) pelo 7 ΕΡ1968500Β1 menos numa direcção perpendicular ao eixo vertical da coluna vertebral, e/ou uma rotação do núcleo (3) em relação à segunda placa (2) através da rotação em torno de um eixo substancialmente perpendicular ao plano destas superfícies planas. A segunda placa 2 compreende meios de cooperação (22) que são complementares de meios de cooperação (32) do núcleo (3) para restringir ou eliminar pelo menos esta translação do núcleo (3) relação à segunda placa (2) . Nas formas de realização representadas nas figuras, os meios de cooperação (22) da segunda placa (2) são meios fêmea localizados na proximidade dos bordos da segunda placa (2) e que cooperam com os meios macho (32) do núcleo (3) . Nas formas de realização representadas nas figuras, estes meios macho de cooperação (32) do núcleo (3) são duas cavilhas localizadas nos dois bordos laterais do núcleo (3) , e os meios fêmea de cooperação (22) da segunda placa (2) são quatro paredes localizadas, aos pares, em cada um dos dois bordos laterais da segunda placa (2) . Estas paredes compreendem uma secção que curva para dentro na direcção da placa (2) e que cobre parcialmente os meios macho de cooperação (32) do núcleo (3), para evitar que o núcleo (3) se eleve. Noutra forma de realização do invento, os meios de cooperação (22) da segunda placa (2) podem ser meios macho localizados na proximidade dos bordos da segunda placa (2), e que cooperam com os meios fêmea (32) do núcleo (3) . Numa forma de realização do invento, as dimensões de cada meio macho de cooperação (32, 22) podem ser ligeiramente inferiores às dos meios fêmea de cooperação (22, 32), para permitir um ligeiro percurso entre o núcleo (3) e a segunda placa (2) em torno da posição correspondendo à projecção vertical do centro (C) de articulação. Noutra forma de realização, as dimensões de cada meio macho de cooperação (32, 22) podem ser substancialmente idênticas às de cada 8 ΕΡ1968500Β1 meio fêmea de cooperação (22, 32), para evitar qualquer percurso entre o núcleo (3) e a segunda placa (2), e para reter o núcleo (3) na posição correspondendo à projecção vertical do centro (C) de articulação.
Neste caso de uma prótese com três elementos, o centro (C) de articulação está alinhado verticalmente com o vértice da superfície curva (31) de articulação do núcleo (3), e corresponde à posição intermédia do núcleo (3) entre os meios para cooperação (22) da segunda placa (2) e a posição intermédia do centro da superfície curva (11) da primeira placa (1) em relação ao núcleo (3) . Na forma de realização ilustrada nas figuras, a superfície curva (11) da primeira placa (1) é côncava, e a superfície curva (31) do núcleo (3) é convexa, mas poderia ser que a superfície curva (11) da primeira placa (1) fosse convexa e a superfície curva (31) do núcleo côncava.
Numa forma de realização do invento, o centro (C) de articulação está alinhado verticalmente com o centro (Gl) de geometria da primeira placa (1), mas deslocado em relação ao centro geométrico (G2) da segunda placa (2) pelo menos numa direcção perpendicular ao eixo vertical da coluna vertebral. Este deslocamento (D) dos centros geométricos (Gl, G2) das placas provoca um deslocamento dos bordos das placas (1, 2) pelo menos numa direcção perpendicular ao eixo vertical da coluna vertebral. Noutra forma de realização do invento, o centro (C) de articulação pode também estar deslocado em relação ao centro geométrico (Gl) da primeira placa (1) . Este deslocamento do centro (C) de articulação em relação ao centro geométrico (Gl) da primeira placa (1) pode estar na direcção oposta à do seu deslocamento (D) em relação ao centro geométrico (G2) da segunda placa (2) , para que a 9 ΕΡ1968500Β1 projecção vertical do centro (C) de articulação assente entre as projecções verticais dos centros geométricos (Gl, G2) das placas (1, 2) , e para que o deslocamento dos centros geométricos (Gl, G2) em relação ao centro (C) de articulação se acumulem e gerem um deslocamento dos bordos das placas (1, 2) pelo menos numa direcção perpendicular ao eixo vertical da coluna vertebral. Este deslocamento do centro (C) de articulação em relação ao centro geométrico (Gl) da primeira placa (1) pode estar também na mesma direcção que o seu deslocamento (D) em relação ao centro geométrico (G2) da segunda placa (2) , mas a uma distância menor, para que estes deslocamentos se compensem parcialmente uns aos outros e gerem um deslocamento dos bordos das placas (1, 2) entre si próprios pelo menos numa direcção perpendicular ao eixo vertical da coluna vertebral.
Pode ser benéfico que a prótese de acordo com o invento permita compensar os defeitos de inclinação das vértebras entre as quais se destina a ser introduzida. Os planos médios que representam as superfícies de contacto (14, 24) das placas (1, 2) podem, por isso, ser substancialmente paralelos ou criar um ângulo agudo. A inclinação obtida por um tal ângulo permitirá que a forma global da prótese se adapte à anatomia da coluna vertebral ou corrija quaisquer possíveis defeitos de inclinação das vértebras do doente ao qual se destina a prótese. As placas (1, 2) são montadas com o núcleo (3) tendo espessuras e/ou dimensões e/ou formas diferentes. As placas (1, 2) podem compreender, pelo menos no seu bordo anterior, pelo menos um chanfro (12) que facilita a introdução da prótese entre as vértebras. A prótese de acordo com uma forma de realização do invento compreende meios de fixação óssea amovíveis (ou 10 ΕΡ1968500Β1 móveis) (4A, 4B) que permitem fixar as placas (1, 2) nas vértebras. Estes meios de fixação óssea (4A, 4B) e/ou as placas (1, 2) podem assim compreender meios de fixação (43) e/ou (211, 212) da ligação dos meios de fixação óssea (4A, 4B) nas placas (1, 2).
Numa primeira forma de realização dos meios de fixação óssea móveis (4B), pelo menos uma placa (40) , equipada com entalhes (42) orientados para evitar que esta placa com entalhes (40) caia uma vez introduzida na vértebra, destina-se a ser bloqueado em pelo menos um bordo (21) de uma abertura na proximidade da periferia das placas (1, 2), graças a uma secção curva para dentro (41) . Assim, estes meios de fixação óssea móveis (4B) podem ser introduzidos nas vértebras e bloqueados nas placas da prótese logo que esta última tenha sido introduzida entre as vértebras. Esta forma de realização dos meios de fixação óssea móveis (4B) permite um ajuste possível da posição da prótese entre as vértebras antes da ligação definitiva. A extremidade da placa com entalhes (40) , oposta à que tem uma secção curva para dentro (41), pode compreender um chanfro que permite facilitar a introdução da placa com entalhes (40) na vértebra. A abertura na proximidade da periferia das placas (1, 2) pode compreender uma secção inclinada (210) na qual a placa com entalhes (40) assenta quando a secção curva (41) dos meios de fixação óssea 4B são bloqueados no bordo (21) desta abertura. Esta secção inclinada (210) permite ajustar o ângulo dos meios de fixação óssea (4B) em relação às placas, e guiá-las durante a sua introdução na abertura. Os meios de fixação (43) podem consistir em patilhas flexíveis (43) orientadas na direcção da secção curva (41) dos meios de fixação ósseas (4b), e destinados a dobrarem-se para trás contra os bordos da placa (40) quando se introduzem os meios 11 ΕΡ1968500Β1 de fixação óssea (4b) nas aberturas nas placas (1, 2).
Durante o bloqueio das secções curvas (41) nos bordos (21) das aberturas nas placas (1, 2), estas patilhas flexíveis (43) separam-se para assentar contra os batentes limite (211) localizados nas paredes das aberturas nas placas (1, 2) , para evitar que os meios de fixação óssea (4B) caiam. Numa forma de realização alternativa, a secção curva para dentro (41) da placa com entalhes (40) dos meios de fixação óssea móveis (4) estende-se através de uma segunda placa (40), também equipada com rasgos (42) orientados para evitar que a placa (40) caia, uma vez introduzida nas vértebras.
Numa segunda forma de realização dos meios de fixação óssea móveis (4A, 4B) das placas (1, 2) , pelo menos uma aleta (4a) está equipada com entalhes (42) orientados para evitar que a aleta (4a) caia, uma vez introduzida num rasgo aberto numa vértebra. Uma extremidade da aleta (4A) tem uma secção curva para dentro (41) que é destinada a ser bloqueada pelo menos num bordo (21) de uma abertura na proximidade da periferia das placas (1, 2) . Os meios de fixação (43) da aleta (4A) podem consistir, assim, pelo menos numa cavilha (43) localizada na superfície inferior da aleta (4A) e destinada a ser bloqueada pelo menos num furo (210) nas superfícies de contacto (14, 24) das placas (1, 2). A cavilha (43) e o furo (210) terão uma forma e dimensão complementares para fixar a aleta (4A) nas placas (1, 2) .
Nesta forma de realização, as vértebras, entre as quais a prótese destina-se a ser introduzida, terá sido previamente preparada pelo cirurgião abrindo, nas placas da vértebra, entalhes com forma e dimensão complementares à forma e dimensão das aletas (4A) . 12 ΕΡ1968500Β1
Será óbvio para os peritos na arte que o invento permite formas de realização sob inúmeras outras formas especificas, permanecendo, no entanto, no âmbito do invento, tal como reivindicado. Consequentemente, as formas de realização deveriam ser consideradas puramente ilustrativas, mas podem ser modificadas no campo definido pelo impacto das reivindicações anexas, e o invento não será limitado aos detalhes acima mencionados.

Prótese de disco intervertebral para implante entre as vértebras de uma coluna vertebral, compreendendo pelo duas placas (1, 2), chamadas primeira (1) e segunda (2) placas, articuladas uma em relação à outra por meio de pelo menos uma superfície curva (11, 13) chamada articulação, de pelo menos uma das placas, permitindo a articulação e/ou inclinação das placas (1, 2) uma em relação à outra, através da sua rotação, respectivamente, em torno de um eixo substancialmente perpendicular ao plano das placas e um eixo substancialmente no plano das placas, tendo as referidas superfícies de articulação curvas (11, 31) um vértice alinhado verticalmente com um centro (C) de articulação da prótese, compreendendo cada uma das placas (1, 2) bordos e uma superfície (14, 24) conhecida como superfície de contacto, destinada a estar em contacto com uma placa vertebral de uma das vértebras entre as quais a prótese se destina a ser implantada, compreendendo esta superfície de contacto para cada uma das placas um centro geométrico (Gl, G2) a distância igual de pelo menos dois pontos diametralmente opostos localizados na periferia da placa (1, 2), em que: o centro (C) de articulação da prótese está alinhado verticalmente com um dos centros geométricos (Gl, G2) das placas (1, 2); os centros geométricos (Gl, G2) das placas (1, 2) não estão alinhados verticalmente e estão assim deslocados (D) em pelo menos uma direcção perpendicular ao eixo vertical da coluna vertebral; 1 ΕΡ1968500Β1 caracterizado por as superfícies de contacto (14, 24) das duas placas terem substancialmente as mesmas dimensões e os bordos das placas (1, 2) estarem também deslocadas em pelo menos uma direcção perpendicular ao eixo vertical da coluna.

Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com a reivindicação 1, caracterizada por a segunda placa (2) compreender uma superfície curva (31) de articulação em que pelo menos uma parte coopera com uma superfície curva (11) de articulação da primeira placa (1) da qual é complementar, para permitir a articulação, por articulação e/ou inclinação das placas (1, 2) uma em relação à outra, o centro (C) de articulação alinhado verticalmente com o vértice da superfície curva (31) de articulação da segunda placa (2) correspondendo à posição intermédia do centro da superfície curva (11) da primeira placa (1) em relação à segunda placa (2) .

Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com a reivindicação 8, caracterizada por as dimensões de cada meio macho para cooperação (32) serem ligeiramente mais pequenas do que as dos meios fêmea para cooperação (22) para permitir um ligeiro percurso entre o núcleo (3) e a segunda placa (2) em torno da posição correspondente à projecção vertical do centro (C) de articulação.

Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com a reivindicação 9, caracterizada por as dimensões de cada meio macho para cooperação (32) serem substancialmente as mesmos que as de cada meio fêmea para cooperação (22) para evitar qualquer percurso entre o núcleo (3) e a segunda placa (2) e para manter o núcleo (3) na posição correspondente à projecção vertical do centro (C) de articulação.
- 11. Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com qualquer uma das reivindicações 5 a 8, caracterizada por os meios para cooperação (22) da segunda placa (2) serem os meios macho localizados na proximidade dos bordos da segunda placa (2) e que cooperam com os meios fêmea (32) do núcleo (3).

Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com a reivindicação 11, caracterizada por as dimensões de cada meio macho para cooperação (22) serem ligeiramente inferiores às dos meios fêmea de cooperação (32) para permitir um ligeiro percurso entre o núcleo (3) e a segunda placa (2) em torno da posição correspondente à projecção vertical do centro (C) de articulação. 4 ΕΡ1968500Β1

Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com a reivindicação 11, caracterizada por as dimensões de cada meio macho para cooperação (22) serem substancialmente as mesmas que as dos meios fêmea para cooperação (32) para evitar qualquer percurso entre o núcleo (3) e a sequnda placa (2) e para manter o núcleo (3) na posição correspondente à projecção vertical do centro (C) de articulação.

Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com a reivindicação 8, caracterizada por os meios macho para cooperação (32) do núcleo (3) serem duas cavilhas localizadas nos dois bordos laterais do núcleo (3) e os meios macho para cooperação (22) da sequnda placa (2) serem quatro paredes localizadas, aos pares, em cada um dos dois bordos laterais da segunda placa (2).

Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com a reivindicação 14, caracterizada por os meios macho para cooperação (22) da segunda placa (2) compreenderem uma secção em forma de disco na direcção do centro da placa (2) e cobrindo parcialmente os meios macho para cooperação (32) do núcleo (3) para evitar que o núcleo (3) levante.

Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com qualquer uma das reivindicações 1 a 15, caracterizada por os planos médios representando as superfícies de contacto (14, 24) das placas (1, 2) serem substancialmente paralelos ou fazerem um ângulo agudo, permitindo a inclinação obtida por um tal ângulo adaptar a forma global da prótese à anatomia da coluna vertebral ou para possivelmente corrigir quaisquer defeitos de inclinação das vértebras do doente à qual se destina a prótese. 5 ΕΡ1968500Β1

- 19. Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com qualquer uma das reivindicações 1 a 18, caracterizada por as placas (1, 2) compreenderem meios de fixação óssea móveis (4A, 4B).
- 20. Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com a reivindicação 19, caracterizada por meios de fixação óssea (4A, 4B) e/ou as placas (1, 2) compreenderem meios para fixação (43 e/ou 211, 212) a ligação dos meios de fixação óssea (4A, 4B) nas placas (1, 2).
- 21. Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com a reivindicações 19 ou 20, caracterizada por os meios de fixação óssea móveis (4B) das placas (1, 2) consistirem pelo menos numa placa (40) equipada com entalhes (42) orientados para evitar que esta placa com entalhes (40) caia uma vez introduzida numa vértebra, uma extremidade da placa (40) tendo uma secção curva para dentro (41) e destinada a ser bloqueada pelo menos num bordo (21) de uma abertura localizada na proximidade da periferia das placas (1, 2).
- 22. Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com a reivindicação 21, caracterizada por a extremidade da placa 6 ΕΡ1968500Β1 com entalhes (40), oposta à que tem uma secção curva para dentro (41), compreender um chanfro facilitando a introdução da placa com entalhes (40) nas vértebras.

Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com a reivindicações 21 ou 22, caracterizada por a abertura localizada na proximidade da periferia das placas (1, 2) compreender uma secção inclinada (210) na qual a placa com entalhes (40) assenta quando a secção curva (41) dos meios de fixação óssea (44b) é bloqueada no bordo (21) desta abertura, esta secção inclinada (210) permitindo assim ajustar o ângulo dos meios de fixação óssea (4b) em relação às placas e para guiá-las quando são introduzidas na abertura.
- 24. Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com a reivindicação 21, caracterizada por os meios de fixação (43) consistirem em patilhas flexíveis (43) orientadas na direcção da secção curva (41) dos meios de fixação óssea (4B) e destinadas a dobrar para trás contra os bordos da placa (40) quando se introduzem os meios de fixação óssea (4B) nas aberturas nas placas (1, 2), e então a ressaltar para trás para encostar contra os batentes limite (211) localizados nas paredes das aberturas nas placas (1, 2) durante o bloqueio das secções curvas (41) nos bordos (21) das aberturas nas placas (1, 2) para evitar que os meios de fixação óssea (4B) caiam.
- 25. Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com as reivindicações 21 a 24, caracterizada por a secção curva para dentro (41) da placa com entalhes (40) dos meios de fixação óssea móveis (4B) se prolongar por meio de uma segunda placa (40) também equipada com entalhes (42) 7 ΕΡ1968500Β1 orientados para evitar que a placa (40) caia uma vez introduzida na vértebra.

Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com as reivindicações 19 ou 20, caracterizada por os meios de fixação óssea móveis (4A, 4B) das placas (1, 2) consistirem pelo menos numa aleta (4A) equipada com entalhes (42) orientados para evitar que a aleta (4A) caia uma vez introduzida num rasgo aberto numa vértebra, uma extremidade da aleta (4A) tendo uma secção curva para dentro (41) e destinada a ser bloqueada em pelo menos um bordo (21) de uma abertura na proximidade da periferia das placas (1, 2).
- 27. Prótese de disco intervertebral de acordo com a reivindicação 26, caracterizada por os meios de fixação (43) da aleta (4A) consistirem pelo menos numa cavilha (43) localizada na superfície inferior da aleta (4A) e destinados a serem bloqueados pelo menos num furo (210) nas superfícies de contacto (14, 24) das placas (1, 2), tendo a cavilha (43) e o furo (210) uma forma e dimensão complementares para fixar a aleta (4A) no lugar nas placas (1, 2).
