Abstract

La presente invencion incluye una composicion de polietileno multimodal que tiene (1) una densidad de por lo menos 0.940 g/cm3 segun medida a traves del metodo D-1505 de ASTM; (2) un indice de flujo de fusion (I5) de aproximadamente 0.2 a aproximadamente 1.5 g/10 minutos (segun medido a traves de ASTM D-1238, medido a 190 degree C y 5 kilogramos); (3) una relacion de indice de flujo de fusion (I21/I5) de aproximadamente 20 a aproximadamente 50; (4) una distribucion de peso molecular, Mw/Mn, de aproximadamente 20 a aproximadamente 40; (5) una estabilidad de burbuja medida en un equipo especificado de acuerdo con condiciones especificadas para una pelicula con un espesor de aproximadamente 6 X 10-6m de por lo menos una velocidad de linea de aproximadamente 1.22 m/s, a una velocidad de salida de por lo menos aproximadamente 45 kg/hora, o por lo menos aproximadamente 0.0000011 kg/s/rps como velocidad de salida especifica, o una combinacion de esto; la composicion comprende; y (6) un impacto de dardo sobre la pelicula de 12.5 micras (1.25 X 10-5m) de por lo menos 300 g; medido de acuerdo con ASTM 1709, Metodo A; (A) una fraccion de peso molecular alto que; (a) esta presente en una cantidad de aproximadamente 30 a aproximadamente 70% en peso (basado en el peso total de la composicion), (b) tiene una densidad de por lo menos aproximadamente 0.860 g/cm3 segun medida por ASTM D-1505; (c) tiene un indice de flujo de fusion (I21) de aproximadamente 0.01 a aproximadamente 50 g/10 minutos (segun medido a traves de ASTM D-1238, medido a 190 degree C y 21.6 kilogramos); y (d) una relacion de indice de flujo de fusion (I21/I5) de aproximadamente 6 a aproximadamente 12; y (B) una fraccion de bajo peso molecular que; (a) esta presente en una cantidad de aproximadamente 30 a aproximadamente 70% en peso (basandose en el peso total de la composicion); (b) tiene una densidad de por lo menos aproximadamente 0.900 g/cm3 segun medida a traves de ASTM D-1505; (c) tiene un indice de flujo de fusion (I2) de aproximadamente 0.5 a aproximadamente 3000 g/10 minutos (segun medido a traves de ASTM D-1238, medido a 190 degree C y 2.16 kilogramos); (d) una relacion de indice de flujo de fusion (I21/I5) de aproximadamente 5 a aproximadamente 15; y (e) se prepara utilizando una relacion molar de alfa-olefina a etileno de menos de o igual a aproximadamente 0.001:1. La invencion tambien incluye un procedimiento para producir un polimero de etileno multimodal, este procedimiento comprende los siguientes pasos: (1) poner en contacto, en un primer reactor de lecho fluidizado de fase de gas, bajo condiciones de polimerizacion y a una temperatura de aproximadamente 70 degree C a aproximadamente 110 degree C, un precursor de catalizador de titanio-magnesio soportado, co-catalizador, y una composicion gaseosa, la composicion gaseosa teniendo: (i) una relacion molar de alfa-olefina a etileno de aproximadamente 0.01:1 a aproximadamente 0.8:1; y opcionalmente (ii) una relacion molar hidrogeno a etileno de aproximadamente 0.001:1 a aproximadamente 0.3:1, para producir un polimero de alto peso molecular (HMW); y (2) transferir el polimero de alto peso molecular del paso 1 a un segundo reactor de lecho fluidizado de fase de gas bajo condiciones de polimerizacion y a una temperatura de aproximadamente 70 degree C a aproximadamente 110 degree C, con una composicion gaseosa teniendo: (i) una relacion molar de alfa-olefina a etileno de aproximadamente 0.0005:1 a aproximadamente 0.01:1:1; y (ii) una relacion molar de hidrogeno (si esta presente) a etileno de aproximadamente 0.01:1 a aproximadamente 3:1 para formar producto de mezcla de polimero; y (3) fundir el producto de mezcla de polimero en un extrusor teniendo una ventilacion de mezclador, en donde, (ii) la ventilacion de mezcla tiene una concentracion de oxigeno de aproximadamente 0.05 a aproximadamente 6% en volumen de oxigeno en nitrogeno; y (ii) la temperatura de extrusion es suficiente para fundir el polimero y lograr su desarrollo en presencia de oxigeno; y (4) hacer pasar la mezcla de polimero fundida a traves de uno o mas tamices activos, en donde en el caso de dos o mas tamices activos, los tamices son colocados en serie, cada tamiz activo teniendo un tamano de retencion de micra de aproximadamente 2 a aproximadamente 70, a un flujo de masa de aproximadamente 1.0 a aproximadamente 20 kg/s/m2 para formar una mezcla de polimero fundida tamizada. La composicion se puede preparar a traves del procedimiento y de preferencia se prepara a traves del procedimiento. La resina exhibe un procesamiento de extrusion mejorado a altas velocidades de linea comercial, mientras se exhibe un excelente equilibrio de estabilidad de burbuja 10, caida de dardo, y FAR, asi como tambien una NCLS excelente con buen modulo de flexion.
