Abstract
Un metodo y aparato para la formacion escalonada incluyen codificar un grupo de senales que representan contenido, de manera que cada senal codificada, sola o en combinacion con otras senales codificadas, es capaz de ser descodificada para producir una senal descodificada correspondiente. Cada senal descodificada tiene una calidad reproducida que es diferente de la calidad reproducida de todas las otras senales descodificas. Se genera una senal mixta que incluye el grupo de senales codificadas. La senal codificada que corresponde a una senal descodificada de calidad mas baja no es retrasada. Las otras senales codificadas son retrasadas por diferentes cantidades, de manera que entre mas alta es la calidad de la senal descodificada correspondiente, mayor es el periodo de retraso. El grupo de senales codificadas es extraido de la senal mixta, y los errores en el grupo de senales codificadas extraidas son detectados. Se produce un subgrupo de senales codificas extraidas disponibles, las cuales no son erroneas. Una senal de contenido representativa a la calidad mas alta posible es descodificada a partir del subgrupo de senales codificadas extraidas disponibles.
