Abstract
Description
図1は、本発明の原理によるスタガキャスト送信機100の一部分の構成図である。図を単純にするよう示していない他の構成要素が完全な送信機に必要であるということは当業者が分かる。それらの構成要素が何であるかということと、図示した構成要素とともにそれらの他の構成要素を選択し、設計し、実施し、相互接続する方法とを当業者は更に分かる。
Claims (32)
- スタガキャストされるコンテンツを記憶する方法であって:
コンテンツを表す信号群を符号化する工程を備え、該群は、復号化されて相当する復号化信号群を生成することができ、各復号化信号は、他の符号化信号に相当する復号化信号の品質とは異なる品質を有し;
更に、時間的にずれている該符号化信号群を備えるコンポジット信号を生成する工程;
該符号化信号群を該コンポジット信号から抽出する工程;
該抽出符号化信号群におけるエラーを検出して、間違っていない利用可能抽出符号化信号の部分集合を生成する工程;
選択可能な所望の品質での、コンテンツを表す信号を復号化する工程;及び
該復号化された、コンテンツを表す信号を記憶装置に記憶する工程を備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1記載の方法であって、該所望の品質での、コンテンツを表す信号が利用可能でない場合、該利用可能抽出符号化信号の部分集合からの選択可能な所望の品質での、コンテンツを表す信号を復号化し、該復号化された、コンテンツを表す信号を記憶することを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項2記載の方法であって、該復号化する工程が、該所望の品質での、該コンテンツを表す信号を自動的に選択する工程を備えることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項3記載の方法であって、該所望の品質を自動的に選択する工程が、該所望の品質を予め設定された選択パラメータに応じて選択することを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項4記載の方法であって、該パラメータがユーザ入力に応じて予め設定されることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1記載の方法であって、該所望の品質を自動的に選択する工程は、該所望の品質を記憶装置の状態に応じて選択することを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項6記載の方法であって、該記憶装置の該状態が、該記憶装置はほとんど充填されているということを示す場合、該所望の品質は自動的に低品質であることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1記載の方法であって、該復号化する工程が、該所望の品質をユーザ入力に応じて選択する工程を備えることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項8記載の方法であって、該所望の品質をユーザ入力に応じて選択する工程が:
該符号化信号群に関する情報を表す画像を表示する工程;及び
該情報表示を表示した後にユーザ入力を受信する工程を備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項9記載の方法であって:
該コンテンツを表す信号はテレビジョン番組を表し;
コンポジット信号を生成する工程は、該符号化された、コンテンツを表す信号群の各々の品質を備える該テレビジョン番組に関する情報を収容する信号を更に含める工程を備え;
該符号化された信号を表す情報の画像を表示する工程は、該テレビジョン番組に関する該情報と該符号化信号群の品質とを載せる工程を備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項10記載の方法であって、テレビジョン番組情報を収容する信号が、番組マップ・テーブル(PMT)と、番組及び情報システムのプロトコル−仮想チャンネル・テーブル(PSIP−VCT)との何れか又は両方を表すデータを収容することを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1記載の方法であって、該コンポジット信号を生成する工程が、最低品質で復号化される信号が遅延しておらず、相当する復号化信号の品質が高いほど遅延期間が長くなるように該最低品質で復号化される信号に相当する符号化信号に対して遅延しているように該符号化信号群を生成する工程を備えることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1記載の方法であって、該符号化する工程が、該符号化信号群の少なくとも1つを、他の符号化信号の符号化に対してロバストな手法を用いて符号化する工程を備えることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項13記載の方法であって、該少なくとも1つのロバストな符号化信号は、最低品質で復号化される信号に相当する符号化信号を備えることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項13記載の方法であって、該符号化信号群がチャネル符号化され、ロバスト符号化信号は、非ロバスト符号化信号に用いるチャネル符号化手法に対してロバストなチャネル符号化手法を用いてチャネル符号化されることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項15記載の方法であって、該ロバスト符号化信号の該チャネル符号化が、4−VSB変調と2−VSB変調との一方であり、非ロバスト符号化信号のチャネル符号化が8−VSB変調であることを特徴とする方法。
- コンテンツを表す、時間的にずれている、符号化信号群を備えるコンポジット信号を受信するスタガキャスト受信機であって、該群は、復号化されて相当する復号化信号群を生成することができ、各復号化信号は、他の符号化信号に相当する復号化信号の品質とは異なる品質を有し:
更に、該コンポジット信号に応じて、該符号化信号群を抽出し、各々の符号化信号におけるエラーを検出し、間違っていない利用可能抽出信号の部分集合を生成する逆多重化装置;
該逆多重化装置に結合され、該エラーを表す信号に応じて、選択可能な所望の品質での、コンテンツを表す信号を再生する復号器;及び
該復号器に結合されて、該再生コンテンツを表す信号を記憶する記憶装置を備えることを特徴とする受信機。 - 請求項17記載の受信機であって、該復号器が、利用可能抽出符号化信号の該部分集合からの最高品質での、コンテンツを表す信号を再生する回路を備えることを特徴とする受信機。
- 請求項17記載の受信機であって、該復号器は、該所望の品質での、コンテンツを表す信号が利用可能でない場合、該利用可能抽出符号化信号の部分集合からの選択可能な所望の品質での、コンテンツを表す信号を再生する回路を備えることを特徴とする受信機。
- 請求項19記載の受信機であって、該復号器は更に、該所望の品質での、該コンテンツを表す信号を自動的に再生する回路を備えることを特徴とする受信機。
- 請求項20記載の受信機であって、該復号器は更に、予め設定される選択パラメータを記憶し、該所望の品質での、該コンテンツを表す信号を該選択パラメータに応じて自動的に再生する回路を備えることを特徴とする受信機。
- 請求項17記載の受信機であって:
該記憶装置が、該記憶装置の状態を表す信号を生成し;
該復号器が、該所望の品質での、該コンテンツを表す信号を、該状態を表す信号に応じて自動的に再生する回路を備えることを特徴とする受信機。 - 請求項22記載の受信機であって、該復号器は、低品質での、該コンテンツを表す信号を、該記憶装置がほとんど充填されているということを示す、該状態を表す信号に応じて選択することを特徴とする受信機。
- 請求項21記載の受信機であって、更に、選択パラメータをユーザ入力に応じて記憶する回路を備えることを特徴とする受信機。
- 請求項17記載の受信機であって、該復号器は、該所望の品質での、該コンテンツを表す信号をユーザ入力に応じて生成する回路を備えることを特徴とする受信機。
- 請求項25記載の受信機であって、更に、該符号化信号群に関する情報を表す画像を表示する画面上表示装置を備えることを特徴とする受信機。
- 請求項26記載の受信機であって、
該コンテンツを表す信号はテレビジョン番組であり、該コンポジット信号は更に、該符号化された、コンテンツを表す信号の各々の品質を備える該テレビジョン番組に関する情報を収容する信号を備えることを特徴とする受信機。 - 請求項27記載の受信機であって、テレビジョン番組情報を収容する信号が、番組マップ・テーブル(PMT)と、番組及び情報システムのプロトコル−仮想チャンネル・テーブル(PSIP−VCT)との何れか又は両方を表すデータを収容することを特徴とする受信機。
- 請求項17記載の受信機であって、該符号化信号群の少なくとも1つが、他の信号の符号化に対してロバストな手法を用いて符号化され、該復号器は、該少なくとも1つの符号化信号に応じて、該少なくとも1つの符号化信号を復号化する復号器を備えることを特徴とする受信機。
- 請求項29記載の受信機であって、該少なくとも1つのロバストな符号化信号は、最低品質で復号化される信号に相当する符号化信号を備えることを特徴とする受信機。
- 請求項30記載の受信機であって:
該符号化信号群がチャネル符号化され、該ロバスト符号化信号が、4−VSB変調と2−VSB変調との一方を用いてチャネル符号化され、他の符号化信号は8−VSB変調を用いてチャネル符号化され;
該復号器は、該ロバスト符号化信号を4−VSB復調と2−VSB復調との一方を用いてチャネル復号化し、他の符号化信号を8−VSB復調を用いてチャネル復号化する復調器を備える
ことを特徴とする受信機。 - 請求項17記載の受信機であって:
該コンポジット信号は、最低品質で復号化される信号が遅延していないような該符号化信号群を備え、相当する復号化信号の品質が高いほど、遅延期間が長くなるように該最低品質で復号化される信号に相当する符号化信号に対して他の符号化信号が遅延しており;
更に、該逆多重化装置と該復号器との間に結合され、各々が該抽出符号化信号群に応じて、該抽出符号化信号を時間的に再整合化させる複数の遅延回路を備えることを特徴とする受信機。
