Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a materiales fotocrómicos que incluyen un compuesto fotocrómico que incluye un substituyente fotocrómico (por ejemplo, un naftopirano indeno-fusionado) y al menos un grupo silano colgante ligado al substituyente fotocrómico. Los grupos silano colgantes se seleccionan entre ciertos grupos siloxi-silano colgantes y/o grupos alcoxi-silano colgantes representados por las fórmulas generales (I) y/o (II) descritos con mayor detalle en ésta. La presente invención también se refiere a artículos fotocrómicos, tales como elementos ópticos fotocrómicos (por ejemplo, lentes fotocrómicas), y composiciones de recubrimiento fotocrómico (por ejemplo, composiciones de recubrimiento fotocrómico curables), que incluyen los materiales fotocrómicos de la presente invención.
