Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento para la preparación de un catalizador que contiene plata, apropiado para la oxidación de etileno en óxido de etileno, caracterizado en que un compuesto de plata y, si se desea, un activador se aplica un portador, después de lo cual el compuesto de plata se reduce a la plata metálica, y en cuyo procedimiento el portador se ha preparado mezclando un compuesto de aluminio con un hidróxido de un metal del grupo 1A del sistema periódico, y con un compuesto de flúor orgánico y calcinando la mezcla obtenida.
