Description
즉, 본 발명은 방향족 폴리아미드를 주성분으로 하는 베이스 필름의 적어도 일면 상에 자성층이 직접 형성되어 이루어지는 자기기록매체로서, 자성층의 표면상에 있어서의 높이 10nm 이상의 돌기 개수 Na(10)(개/mm2), 높이 50nm 이상의 돌기 개수 Na(50)(개/mm2) 및 베이스 필름의 자성층 형성측의 동일 표면상에 있어서의 높이 10nm 이상의 돌기 개수 Na(10)'(개/mm2)가 다음 식을 동시에 만족하는 것을 특징으로 한다.

또 자성층과 자성층상에 형성되는 보호층이나 윤활층을 합계한 두께는 베이스 필름의 자성층 형성측의 동일 표면상에 있어서의 중심면 평균 조도(예컨대, 나라지로 저 「표면조도의 측정, 평가법」(종합기술센터, 1983)에 표시되어 있는 것)의 10∼100배의 범위 내이면 본 발명의 요건을 만족하는 점에서 특히 바람직하다.
백코트층에서는 카본블랙은 평균 입자크기가 다른 2종류의 것을 사용하는 것이 바람직하다. 이 경우에 그 평균 입자크기는 10∼20mμ의 미립자 형상 카본블랙과 평균 입자크기가 230∼300mμ의 조립자 형상 카본블랙을 사용하는 것이 바람직하다. 일반적으로, 상기와 같은 미립자 형상의 카본블랙의 첨가에 의하여 백코트층의 표면 전기저항을 낮게 설정할 수 있고, 또한 광 투과율도 낮게 설정 할 수 있다. 자기기록장치에 따라서는 테이프의 광 투과율을 이용하여, 동작 신호로 사용하고 있는 것이 많으므로 이와 같은 경우에는 특히 미립자 형상의 카본블랙의 첨가는 유효하게 된다. 또, 미립자 형상의 카본블랙은 일반적으로 윤활제의 유지력이 우수하고, 윤활제 병용시 마찰계수의 저감화에 기여한다. 한편, 입자크기가 230∼300mμ의 조립자 형상의 카본블랙은 고체 윤활제로서의 기능을 보유하고 있고, 또 이면층의 표면에 미소돌기를 형성하여, 접촉 면적을 저감화하여 마찰계수의 저감화에 기여한다. 그러나, 조립자 형상의 카본블랙은 가혹한 주행계에서는 테이프 슬라이딩에 의하여 백코트층으로부터의 탈락이 발생하기 쉽게 되어, 에러 비율의 증대와 관련된 결점을 보유하고 있으므로 다량으로 사용하지 않는 것이 바람직하다.
Claims (8)
- 방향족 폴리아미드를 주성분으로 하는 베이스 필름의 적어도 일면 상에 자성층이 직접 형성되어 이루어지는 자기기록매체로서,자성층의 표면상에 있어서의 높이 10nm 이상의 돌기 개수 Na(10)(개/mm2), 높이 50nm 이상의 돌기 개수 Na(50)(개/mm2) 및 베이스 필름의 자성층 형성측의 동일 표면상에 있어서의 높이 10nm 이상의 돌기 개수 Na(10)'(개/mm2)가,2 ×104 ≤Na(10) ≤5 ×1060 ≤Na(50) ≤5 ×104-0.9 ≤(Na(10) - Na(10)')/Na(10)' ≤0을 동시에 만족하는 것을 특징으로 하는 자기기록매체.
- 삭제
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 Na(10) 및 Na(10)'가,106 ≤Na(10) ≤5 ×106-0.7 ≤(Na(10) - Na(10)')/Na(10)' ≤0을 동시에 만족하는 것을 특징으로 하는 자기기록매체.
- 제1항에 있어서,베이스 필름의 자성층 형성면과는 반대측의 표면상에 백코트층이 형성되고,백코트층 표면상에 있어서의 높이 50nm 이상의 돌기 개수 Nb(50)(개/mm2) 및 높이 100nm 이상의 돌기 개수 Nb(100)(개/mm2)가,2 ×104 ≤Nb(50) ≤5 ×1060 ≤Nb(100) ≤5 ×104을 동시에 만족하는 것을 특징으로 하는 자기기록매체.
- 제1항에 있어서, 베이스 필름의 적어도 한 방향의 영률이 9.8GPa 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 자기기록매체.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 베이스 필름의 두께가 1∼5㎛인 것을 특징으로 하는 자기기록매체.
- 제1항에 있어서, 자성층의 두께가 0.02∼0.5㎛인 것을 특징으로 하는 자기기록매체.
- 제1항에 있어서, 자성층이 증착법에 의하여 형성된 층인 것을 특징으로 하는 자기기록매체.
