(式中、XはF、Br、Cl、またはIであり;yは0~5であり、zは0~5であり、y+zは1~5であり;Aは酸素系アニオンである。)
で表される化合物を提供する。
TaX5-y-z(A)y(OH)z
(式中、Xはハロゲン種であり;yは0~5であり、zは0~5であり、y+zは1~5であり;Aは酸素系アニオンである。)
で表される新規なタンタル含有化合物が開示されている。
Al‐O‐TaX5-y-z(A)y(OH)z
(式中、XはF、Br、Cl、またはIであり;yは0~5であり、zは0~5であり、y+zは1~5であり;Aは酸素系アニオンである。)
にしたがって、アルミニウムおよび酸素(例えば、本明細書中に記載のセパレータの一部)に結合していてもよい。いくつかの実施形態では、「z」の値は0であってもよい。「A」は、電子供与体ドナーとして働く酸素系リガンド種であってもよい。「A」は、エノラートであってもよい。
いくつかの実施形態では、「A」は、炭素数1~8を有するアルコキシド、アセチルアセトネート、2‐エチルヘキシルオキシド、およびアセテートからなる群から選択される化学種であってもよい。いくつかの実施形態では、「A」はOCH3であってもよい。前述のように、「X」はハロゲン種である。いくつかの実施形態では、「X」は、フッ素であってもよい。いくつかの実施形態では、「X」は、臭素であってもよい。再び図3を参照すると、上記化合物330は、上記式を有する1つ以上の化合物を含んでもよい。

TaX5-y(OCH3)y+zH2O→TaX5-y-z(OCH3)y(OH)z+zHX

は、原料化合物、即ち、TaX5からの反応工程を説明するために使用することができると考えられている。

2TaX5-y(OCH3)y(OH)z+(5-2z)H2O → Ta2O5+2yCH3OH+(10-2y-2z)HX
(式中、XはF、Br、Cl、またはIであり;yは0~5であり、zは0~5であり、y+zは1~5である。)
により、加水分解によって形成する。
Ta2O5+10Li++10e- → 2Ta+5Li2O
により、電気化学リチオ化によって形成する。
Li2O+Ta2O5 → 2LiTaO3
により、形成する。
TaF5-x(OCH3)x+5Li++5e- → Ta+(5-x) LiF+xCH3OLi
(式中、xは0~4である。)
に従って、電気化学リチオ化によるものであってもよい。
リチウムまたはリチウムイオン電池におけるリチウムアノードの保護層として使用するCELGARD(登録商標)2500セパレータ層上にハイブリッド層(例えば、有機‐無機ハイブリッドナノ複合材料コーティング)を作製するために、以下の工程を実施した。
実施例1と同様にして、フッ素化ゾル‐ゲルコーティングされたCELGARD(登録商標)2500セパレータ層を含む電気化学セルを組み立てた。上記セルを、充電/放電サイクルによってサイクル試験を行った。サイクル後のセルのリチウムアノードの表面のEDX元素マッピングは、図7A~図7Cに示すように、リチウム金属アノードの表面上に形成されたLiFを含む層の存在を確認する、タンタルおよびフッ素の両方の均一な分布を示した。
実施例1と同様の方法によって形成されたTaF5変性した25μmCELGARD(登録商標)2500セパレータ層を、電気化学セル中に組み立て、性能について試験した。
正常と、CELGARD(登録商標)2500セパレータ層を、TaF5溶液に代わるTaBr5溶液でうまくコーティングするため、実施例1と同様の工程を行った。
実施例4と同様の方法により形成されたTaBr5変性25μmCELGARD(登録商標)2500セパレータ層を、電気化学セル中に組み立て、性能について試験した。以下の構成:PET/PVOH/銅/真空蒸着Liアノード、臭素化ゾル‐ゲルコーティングされたCELGARD(登録商標)2500セパレータ層、およびNi-Mn-Co酸化物(NMC)カソードを有する中型フラットセルを組み立てた。コーティングされていない、未変性のCELGARD(登録商標)2500セパレータ層を使用して、対照グループのセルも組み立てた。
セパレータ上のハイブリッド層の可撓性を説明するために、試料を後述する方法に従って作製し、上記試料に関して曲げ試験を行った。

- 電気活性材料としてリチウムを含む電極;および
該電極の表面に近接する無機材料および有機ポリマーを含むハイブリッド層
を含む、物品であって、
該ハイブリッド層が、更にフッ化リチウムおよび金属タンタルを含み、
該物品が、その上に前記ハイブリッド層を付着させたセパレータを更に含み、
該電極がアノードであり、
該ハイブリッド層が、前記セパレータおよびアノードの間に配置されており、
該物品が、リチウム二次電池用である、物品。 - 前記ハイブリッド層が、無機ナノ粒子および有機ポリマーの架橋網目構造を含む、請求項1記載の物品。
- 前記有機ポリマーがポリエーテルアミン種を含む、請求項1または2記載の物品。
- 前記無機ナノ粒子がアルミナナノ粒子を含む、請求項2または3記載の物品。
