Description
本発明のさらなる目的は、改善された機械的特性および切断特性を有する焼結炭化物ツールを与える、バインダー相の改善された分布および異常なWC粒子の量を減少させた焼結炭化物の切削工具を提供することである。
第2の好ましい態様では、追加の元素は、TiおよびTaの混合物である。
第3の好ましい態様では、追加の元素は、Ti、TaおよびNbの混合物である。
第4の好ましい態様では、追加の元素は、TiおよびZrの混合物である。
第5の好ましい態様では、焼結炭化物は、0.01〜0.10重量%のNを含む。
第6の好ましい態様では、追加の元素は、Ti、またはTiおよびTaの混合物であり、そして両者の場合において、Nは、0.02重量%超のN、好ましくは0.03重量%超のNであるが、0.10重量%未満である。
9.25重量%のCoに加えて、重量%で以下の組成物、および残りとしてWCを有する焼結炭化物体1A〜1Fを調製した。

立方晶炭化物を生成するものを少し追加した、焼結後のWC粒径サイズへの驚くべき効果が明確に示された。
例1と同様な方法により、表2aに示される組成を有する焼結炭化物の変化物2A〜2Eを調製した。両者ともにH.C.Starckから供給された、0.08重量%のNを有するWC−粉末および1.3μmのFSSS粒径のWC粉末を、OMGからの微粒子コバルト粉末、およびH.C.Starckからの微粒子TiC、TaC、NbCとともに使用した。

Claims (8)
- 1.0〜2.5μmのWC粒径、ならびに3〜15重量%のCo含有量、およびそれに、Me/Co=(Tiの原子%+Vの原子%+Nbの原子%+Zrの原子%+Taの原子%)/Coの原子%の比が、0.014−(CW)×0.008以下で、かつ0.0005超で、CWが0.80〜0.95(式中、CW=磁性Coの%/Coの重量%(式中、磁性Coの%は、磁性Coの重量パーセントであり、そしてCoの重量%は、焼結炭化物中のCoの重量パーセントである。))であるように、ppmレベルの次の元素、Ti、V、Nb、ZrもしくはTaまたはこれらの混合物を加えることを特徴とする、WC−Co焼結炭化物。
- 追加の元素が、Tiであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の焼結炭化物。
- 追加の元素が、TiおよびTaの混合物であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の焼結炭化物。
- 追加の元素が、Ti、TaおよびNbの混合物であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の焼結炭化物。
- 追加の元素が、TiおよびZrの混合物であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の焼結炭化物。
- 0.01〜0.10重量%のNを含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の焼結炭化物。
- 追加の元素が、Ti、またはTiおよびTaの混合物であり、いずれの場合でも0.02重量%超のNの含有量を有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の焼結炭化物。
- WCおよびCoの粉末を混合し、そして湿式粉砕して、加圧し、そして焼結することを含んで成る、1.0〜2.5μmのWCの粒径および3〜15重量%のCo含有量を有するWC−Co焼結炭化物の製造方法であって、純粋な金属として、または炭化物、窒化物および/もしくは炭窒化物またはそれらの混合物として、ppmレベルのTi、V、Nb、ZrもしくはTaまたはそれらの混合物を、Me/Co=(Tiの原子%+Vの原子%+Nbの原子%+Zrの原子%+Taの原子%)/Coの原子%が0.014−(CW)×0.008以下で、かつ0.0005超で、CW=0.80〜0.95(式中、CW=磁性Coの%/Coの重量%(式中、磁性Coの%は、磁性Coの重量パーセントであり、そしてCoの重量%は、該焼結炭化物中のCoの重量パーセントである。))であるような量で、WCおよび3〜15重量%のCoを含む粉末混合物に追加することを特徴とする、方法。
