Description
基材層としては、厚さ100μmの透明ポリエチレンテレフタレート製フィルムを用いた。光拡散層用ポリマー組成物としては、アクリルポリオール(基材ポリマー)32部、アクリル系樹脂製のビーズ86部、イソシアネート系硬化剤6部、帯電防止剤3部及び溶剤からなるポリマー組成物を用いた。各組成の配合量を示す部数は固形分換算の質量比である。上記ビーズとしては、平均粒子径3μm及び変動係数0.1の小径単分散ビーズのみを用いた。上記基材層表面に光拡散層用ポリマー組成物をグラビアコート法により6g/m2(固形分換算)積層することで比較例の光拡散シートを得た。
ビーズとして上記小径単分散ビーズと大径ビーズとを混合して用い、この大径ビーズとして平均粒子径が8.6μm、変動係数が33.5、粒子径分布巾が3.2μm以上23.8μm以下の多分散ビーズを用い、小径単分散ビーズの大径ビーズに対する質量比を95/5とした以外は上記比較例と同様にして実施例1の光拡散シートを得た。
ビーズとして上記小径単分散ビーズと大径ビーズとを混合して用い、この大径ビーズとして平均粒子径が8.6μm、変動係数が33.5、粒子径分布巾が3.2μm以上23.8μm以下の多分散ビーズを用い、小径単分散ビーズの大径ビーズに対する質量比を9/1とした以外は上記比較例と同様にして実施例2の光拡散シートを得た。
ビーズとして上記小径単分散ビーズと大径ビーズとを混合して用い、この大径ビーズとして平均粒子径が8.6μm、変動係数が33.5、粒子径分布巾が3.2μm以上23.8μm以下の多分散ビーズを用い、小径単分散ビーズの大径ビーズに対する質量比を8/2とした以外は上記比較例と同様にして実施例3の光拡散シートを得た。

ビーズとして上記小径単分散ビーズと大径ビーズとを混合して用い、この大径ビーズとして平均粒子径が8μmの単分散ビーズを用い、小径単分散ビーズの大径ビーズに対する質量比を5/5とした以外は上記比較例と同様にして実施例12の光拡散シートを得た。
上記実施例1〜12の光拡散シート及び比較例の光拡散シートを用い、これらの光拡散シートにおける凸部の平均高さH、凸部の平均径D、凸部の平均占有率及び表面粗さ(Ra)を測定した。また、これらの光拡散シートを実際にエッジライト型及び直下型バックライトユニットに組み込み、正面輝度相対値を測定した。さらに、これらの光拡散シート表面のキズ付き防止性を評価した。その結果を下記表1に示す。
(a)キズ付きが明確な場合を×
(b)キズ付きが気にならない程度の場合を△
(c)キズ付きが殆どない場合を○
として評価した。

Claims (10)
- 透明な基材層とこの基材層の表面側に積層される光拡散層とを備え、この光拡散層が樹脂製のビーズと樹脂製のバインダーとを有し、導光板の表面側に配設される液晶表示装置のバックライトユニット用光拡散シートであって、
上記光拡散層の表面に部分球体状の凸部を散点的に有しており、
上記光拡散層の表面粗さ(Ra)が1.5μm以上10μm以下であり、
上記ビーズが基材層表面に略均一かつ緻密に敷設されており、
上記ビーズとして、主成分の小径単分散ビーズと、この小径単分散ビーズより平均粒子径が大きい副成分の大径単分散ビーズとを含有しており、
上記大径単分散ビーズの粒子径分布の変動係数が0.2以下であることを特徴とする光拡散シート。 - 上記凸部の平均高さが1μm以上10μm以下である請求項1に記載の光拡散シート。
- 上記凸部の平均径が4μm以上18μm以下である請求項1又は請求項2に記載の光拡散シート。
- 上記凸部の平均占有率が2%以上20%以下である請求項1、請求項2又は請求項3に記載の光拡散シート。
- 上記小径単分散ビーズの平均粒子径が1.5μm以上5μm以下、
ビーズのバインダーに対する質量比が2.5以上3以下、及び
光拡散層の積層量が3g/m2以上10g/m2以下である請求項1から請求項4のいずれか1項に記載の光拡散シート。 - 上記大径単分散ビーズの平均粒子径が3μm以上15μm以下、及び
小径単分散ビーズの大径単分散ビーズに対する質量比が6/4以上9/1以下である請求項1から請求項5のいずれか1項に記載の光拡散シート。 - 上記小径単分散ビーズの粒子径分布の変動係数が0.2以下である請求項1から請求項6のいずれか1項に記載の光拡散シート。
- 上記ビーズ及びバインダーの基材ポリマーとしてアクリル系樹脂が用いられている請求項1から請求項7のいずれか1項に記載の光拡散シート。
- 上記基材層の裏面側に積層されるスティッキング防止層をさらに備え、このスティッキング防止層がバインダー中に分散するビーズを有している請求項1から請求項8のいずれか1項に記載の光拡散シート。
- ランプから発せられる光線を分散させて表面側に導く液晶表示装置用のバックライトユニットにおいて、
請求項1から請求項9のいずれか1項に記載の光拡散シートを備えていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置用のバックライトユニット。
