図4は、本発明の前提となる構造を有するプラズマディスプレイパネルのスイッチング回路を示す図である。
(第2の参考例)
以下では、本発明の第1の参考例の問題点を克服したプラズマディスプレイパネルのスイッチング素子について説明する。
(実施の形態)
図9は、本発明の一実施の形態によるプラズマディスプレイパネルのスイッチング素子を示す図である。図9は、図4のような本発明の第1の参考例によるプラズマディスプレイパネルのスイッチング素子の問題点である、IGBTの正温度係数特性による負荷電流が特定のIGBTに集中する問題点を解決するための方法を示した図である。

Claims (6)
- 複数のアドレス電極と、互いに対をなして配列された複数の走査電極及び維持電極と、前記走査電極及び維持電極と前記アドレス電極との間に形成されるパネルキャパシタと、を含むプラズマディスプレイパネルを駆動するために用いられるプラズマディスプレイパネルのスイッチング回路において、
ゲートに印加される電圧に応じて導通または遮断動作をして、前記プラズマディスプレイパネルを駆動させるための電圧を出力する第1の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタと、
前記第1の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタに並列に連結され、ゲートに印加される電圧に応じて導通または遮断動作をして、前記プラズマディスプレイパネルを駆動させるための電圧を出力する第2の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタと、
前記第1の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタの導通時に流れる電流を測定する第1感知部と、
前記第1感知部によって測定された電流により、前記第1の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタのゲートに印加する電圧を調節する第1補償部と、
前記第2の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタの導通時に流れる電流を測定する第2感知部と、
前記第2感知部によって測定された電流により、前記第2の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタのゲートに印加する電圧を調節する第2補償部と、を含み、
前記第1補償部および前記第2補償部は、前記第1の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタおよび前記第2の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタそれぞれの導通時に流れる電流を均等に補償することを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイパネルのスイッチング回路。 - 前記プラズマディスプレイパネルのスイッチング回路は、前記パネルキャパシタにサステイン電圧を供給するために動作するスイッチング回路であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルのスイッチング回路。
- 前記プラズマディスプレイパネルのスイッチング回路は、前記パネルキャパシタにアドレス電圧を供給するために動作するスイッチング回路であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルのスイッチング回路。
- 前記第1及び第2の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタに並列に連結されて、前記プラズマディスプレイパネルを駆動させる際に発生する逆方向電流を流れるようにするダイオードをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルのスイッチング回路。
- 複数の第1電極及び第2電極によって放電空間が形成されるプラズマディスプレイパネルを駆動するプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置において、
第1電圧を供給する第1電源を前記第1電極に電気的に連結する第1スイッチと、
第2電圧を供給する第2電源を前記第1電極に電気的に連結する第2スイッチと、を含み、
前記第1及び第2スイッチは、並列に連結された2個の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタであり、前記第1電圧は、維持期間において前記第1電極と前記第2電極との電圧差としてサステイン電圧が印加できるようにする電圧であり、
前記プラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置は、
前記第1スイッチの第1の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタの導通時に流れる電流を測定する第1感知部と、
前記第1感知部によって測定された電流により、前記第1の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタのゲートに印加する電圧を調節する第1補償部と、
前記第1スイッチの第2の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタの導通時に流れる電流を測定する第2感知部と、
前記第2感知部によって測定された電流により、前記第2の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタのゲートに印加する電圧を調節する第2補償部をさらに含み、
前記第1補償部および前記第2補償部は、前記第1の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタおよび前記第2の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタそれぞれの導通時に流れる電流を均等に補償することを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置。 - 前記プラズマディスプレイパネルは、前記第1及び第2電極と交差して形成される第3電極をさらに含み、
前記プラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置は、第3電圧を供給する第3電源を前記第3電極に電気的に連結する第3スイッチをさらに含み、
前記第3スイッチは、並列に連結される少なくとも2個の絶縁ゲートバイポーラトランジスタであり、前記第3電圧は、アドレス期間において前記第3電極にアドレス電圧が印加できるようにする電圧であることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置。
