Abstract
扫描电路包含一高端开关及一低端开关。藉由控制该高端开关两端的电压差值,使等离子体显示器的扫描电路中的该高端开关能够运作于柔性切换模式或是零电压切换模式中。因此能够降低该扫描电路的切换耗损及切换噪声。
Description
技术领域
本发明涉及一种用于等离子体显示器的扫描电路的切换方法,特别是涉及一种用于降低等离子体显示器的切换噪声的扫描电路的柔性切换方法。
背景技术
近年来,等离子体显示器因为有着高亮度、高发光效率以及宽广的可视角度等特性而活跃地发展着。等离子体显示器是一种藉由气体放电产生的等离子体经能量释放产生紫外光,由紫外光激发荧光材料来产生影像的平面显示器。
等离子体显示器包含两片平行的玻璃基板,并在两片玻璃基板间封入气体混合物。多个第一维持电极,称为X电极,以及多个第二维持电极,称为Y电极,其平行设置于前玻璃基板上。多个寻址电极设置于后玻璃基板上。于这些电极上施加电压以对气体混合物放电。扫描电路电连接于Y电极和驱动电路,用以将数据加载等离子体显示器中。亦即,驱动电路藉由扫描电路而电连接至Y电极。
为了降低扫描电路的切换耗损及切换噪声,等离子体显示器的扫描电路中的高端开关应该于零电压切换模式中或是接近于零电压切换模式的情况下切换。
发明内容
本发明提供一种能使一等离子体显示器扫描电路的一高端开关在零电压切换模式中切换的方法。该扫描电路包含该高端开关、一低端开关、一第一二极管和一第二二极管。该高端开关电连接于一第一节点及一Y电极。该第一二极管包含有一阴极,电连接于该第一节点,和一阳极,电连接于该Y电极。该低端开关电连接于该Y电极及一第二节点,而该第二二极管包含有一阴极,电连接于该Y电极,和一阳极,电连接于该第二节点。该切换方法首先关闭该高端开关并开启该低端开关,用以提供一第一电压于该Y电极及该第二节点,然后当该Y电极及该第二节点的电压等于该第一电压时,关闭该低端开关。然后改变该第二节点的电压至一第二电压,并将该Y电极的电压维持在该第一电压,其中该第一电压及该第二电压的电压差值大于该第一节点的电压与该第二电压的电压差值,因而能启动该第一二极管,而能将该第一节点的电压提供给该Y电极。最后,于零电压切换模式中开启该高端开关。

具体实施方式
本发明提供一种于零电压切换模式下的切换等离子体显示器的扫描电路中的高端开关的切换方法。为能够达到在零电压切换模式下切换,必须将在等离子体显示器的扫描电路中的高端开关导通之前,先将高端开关的寄生二极管或设计中既有的二极管先行导通。本发明中的开关可为金属氧化物半导体晶体管、双载子接面晶体管、其它类型的晶体管或是其它类型的功率开关。
请参照图1,图1为使用本发明的方法的扫描电路10的电路图。扫描电路10对应于等离子体显示器中的第N个Y电极12,第N个X电极14以及数据电极16。扫描电路10包含电连接一高端开关QHN及一低端开关QLN至第N个Y电极12。扫描电路10亦包含一二极管DHN及一二极管DLN DHN及DLN可为是寄生二极管或是设计中原有的二极管。VA、VB和VYN分别为位于节点A、节点B及第N个Y电极12的电压。VYS为VA和VB间的电压差值。当扫描电路10运作于不同的操作模式中,VA、VB和VYN的数值可为不同的电压值。
请参照图2,图2为扫描电路10使用本发明的方法在零电压切换模式中切换高端开关QHN的流程图。流程图中的步骤如下:
步骤100:开始;
步骤110:关闭高端开关QHN,并启动低端开关QLN此时,VB和VYN有着相同的电压值V1。当VB的电压值等于V1时,VA的电压值则为(V1+VYS),因此VYN与VA之间的电压差值(VYN-VA)等于一负值-VYS。此时,二极管DHN处于逆向偏压状态,因此并无电流流通过二极管DHN;
步骤120:关闭低端开关QLN;
步骤130:使用一驱动电路将VB的电压由V1降低至V2,但仍维持VYN的电压为V1。其中,适当选取一V2值,使(V1-V2)大于VYS。当VB的电压被降低至V2时,VA的电压为(V2+VYS),因此VYN与VA之间的电压差值(VYN-VA)等于一正值(V1-V2-VYS),因为(V1-V2)大于VYS。因此,二极管DHN处于正向偏压状态下,而二极管DHN导通后,将使VYN的电压值与VA的电压值相等;
步骤140:开启高端开关QHN,此时VYN与VA之间的电压差值为零,因此QHN是在零电压切换模式中进行切换;
步骤150:结束。
总括而言,本发明提供一种控制扫描电路10的端点电压的方法,而能在零电压切换模式中切换高端开关。在零电压切换模式中运作,将可以降低扫描电路10的切换耗损及切换噪声。本实施例中,仅以单一个扫描电路阐明本发明的方法,在等离子体显示器中所有的扫描电路皆能利用本发明的方法而获得相同的优点。
以上所述仅为本发明的较佳实施例,凡依本发明的权利要求所做的均等变化与修饰,皆应属本发明的涵盖范围。
Claims (5)
1.一种等离子体显示器扫描电路的一高端开关在零电压切换模式中切换的方法,该扫描电路包含该高端开关,电连接于一第一节点及一Y电极;一第一二极管,其包含有一阴极,电连接于该第一节点,和一阳极,电连接于该Y电极;一低端开关,电连接于该Y电极及一第二节点;一第二二极管,其包含有一阴极,电连接于该Y电极,和一阳极,电连接于该第二节点;该切换方法包含有:
关闭该高端开关并开启该低端开关,用以提供一第一电压于该Y电极及该第二节点;
当该Y电极及该第二节点的电压等于该第一电压时,关闭该低端开关;
改变该第二节点的电压至一第二电压,并将该Y电极的电压维持在该第一电压,其中该第一电压及该第二电压的电压差值大于该第一节点的电压与该第二电压的电压差值,因而导通该第一二极管,而使该第一节点的电压值与该Y电极的电压值相等;以及
在该第一节点的电压值与该Y电极的电压值相等时,开启该高端开关,因此该高端开关在零电压切换模式中进行切换。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中该第一二极管及该第二二极管为寄生二极管。
3.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中该高端开关及该低端开关为晶体管。
4.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中该高端开关及该低端开关为双载子接面晶体管。
5.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中该高端开关及该低端开关为金属氧化物半导体场效应晶体管。
