Description
a)被研磨体を保持するための回転自在な被研磨体保持部と、
b)複数の研磨体を保持するための、空洞の軸を有するタレット状の第1研磨体保持部と、
c)上記研磨体の一を回転自在に保持するための第2研磨体保持部と、
d)上記被研磨体と上記第2研磨体保持部に保持された研磨体とを互いに押し付ける又は互いから離間させるための押圧/離間手段と、
e)少なくとも上記第2研磨体保持部を回転駆動するための駆動部と、
f)上記被研磨体の回転を規制するための回転制御機構と、
g)上記第1研磨体保持部の軸の空洞に挿通された、上記回転制御機構と上記被研磨体保持部との連結部と、
を備えることを特徴とする。
本発明に係る光ディスク修復装置では、被研磨体保持部により保持された被研磨体(光ディスク等)と研磨体保持部により保持された研磨体とは、互いに所定の圧力で押圧手段により押し付けられる。この圧力(押し付け圧力)は、被研磨体の表面を研磨するために必要な圧力であり、CD・DVD等の通常の光ディスクでは5〜100kPa程度である。押圧手段については、被研磨体保持部又は研磨体保持部のいずれか一方を固定し、他方を固定側保持部に押し付けるような構成としてもよいし、双方を互いに押し付け合うような構成としてもよい。
本発明に係る光ディスク修復装置では、第1研磨体保持部に保持された複数の研磨体の中から、光ディスク修復工程の段階に応じた一の研磨体(例えば、目の粗い研磨体やバフ)が第2研磨体保持部により保持されると、押圧/離間手段がこの第2研磨体保持部により保持された研磨体と被研磨体とを互いに押し付ける。すると、駆動部が第2研磨体保持部を回転駆動し、研磨体を回転させる。一方、駆動部は被研磨体保持部も同じく回転駆動し、被研磨体を回転させる。なお、研磨体の能動的な回転により生じる反力により、被研磨体を受動的に回転させるようにしてもよい。その際、被研磨体と研磨体との間に研磨に適した所定の回転速度差又は回転速度比が生じるように、回転制御機構により被研磨体の回転を規制するのが好ましい。こうして共に回転する研磨体と被研磨体との間で摩擦が生じ、被研磨体の表面が研磨体により研磨される。研磨が終了すると、押圧/離間手段が研磨体と被研磨体とを互いから離間させる。こうして被研磨体から離間された研磨体は、上記第1研磨体保持部により再び保持される。この後は、第2研磨体保持部により保持される研磨体を交換して、上述した一連の動作を繰り返す。研磨体を交換する場合には、所望の研磨体が第2研磨体保持部により保持される位置まで、第1研磨体保持部を回転させればよい。もっとも、このように第1研磨体保持部が回転するような構成とするのではなく、第1研磨体保持部を固定した上で、その周りを第2研磨体保持部が回転(即ち、公転)するような構成とすることも可能である。但し、その場合には、第2研磨体保持部により保持された研磨体が被研磨体を研磨し得る位置に配されるよう、第1研磨体保持部の軸と第2研磨体保持部の公転軸が略一致する必要があると共に、それらの軸と被研磨体保持部の軸も略一致する必要がある。
本発明に係る光ディスク修復装置の実施例を第5図に示す。同図(A)は平面図、同図(B)及び(C)は側面図である。
Claims (8)
- a)被研磨体を保持するための回転自在な被研磨体保持部と、
b)複数の研磨体を保持するための、空洞の軸を有するタレット状の第1研磨体保持部と、
c)上記研磨体の一を回転自在に保持するための第2研磨体保持部と、
d)上記被研磨体と上記第2研磨体保持部に保持された研磨体とを互いに押し付ける又は互いから離間させるための押圧/離間手段と、
e)少なくとも上記第2研磨体保持部を回転駆動するための駆動部と、
f)上記被研磨体の回転を規制するための回転制御機構と、
g)上記第1研磨体保持部の軸の空洞に挿通された、上記回転制御機構と上記被研磨体保持部との連結部と、
を備えることを特徴とする光ディスク修復装置。 - 上記被研磨体保持部と上記第1研磨体保持部とを、互いに略同心且つ略平行を成すように配置することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光ディスク修復装置。
- 上記被研磨体保持部と上記第1研磨体保持部とを、互いに略平行を成すが略同心を成さないように配置することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光ディスク修復装置。
- 上記回転制御機構と上記被研磨体保持部との連結を、該被研磨体保持部及び/又は上記第1研磨体保持部の昇降又は旋回動作により解除することを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の光ディスク修復装置。
- 上記第1研磨体保持部が上記第2研磨体保持部を、保持爪により保持することを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の光ディスク修復装置。
- 上記第1研磨体保持部が上記第2研磨体保持部を、磁力を利用して保持することを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の光ディスク修復装置。
- 上記第1研磨体保持部が上記第2研磨体保持部を、ねじ溝を噛み合わせることにより保持することを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の光ディスク修復装置。
- 上記第1研磨体保持部が上記第2研磨体保持部を、ばね圧を利用して保持することを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の光ディスク修復装置。
