Claims (16)

  1. 流体サンプルを分析するためのデバイスであって、
    前記デバイスが、
    (a)体サンプルを受け取るように形成されるとともに、流体サンプルのオスモル濃度を示す第1のサンプル読み取り値を生成するために流体サンプルのエネルギー特性を検出するように構成された少なくとも1つのトランスデューサを含む、第1のサンプル領域と、
    (b)第1のサンプル領域と流体連通するとともに、流体サンプルの少なくとも一部を受け取るように形成された、第2のサンプル領域であって、第2のサンプル読み取り値を生成するために流体サンプル中で1つ以上の分析物を検出するように構成された検出基材を含む、第2のサンプル領域、とを含む、デバイス。
  2. 第1のサンプル領域から第2のサンプル領域への流体流動を制御する測定機構をさらに含む、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
  3. 測定機構がパッシブバルブまたはアクティブバルブを含む、請求項2に記載のデバイス。
  4. a)パッシブバルブは第2のサンプル領域への前記流体サンプルの流れを抑制する1つ以上の幾何学的形状を含み、あるいは、b)アクティブバルブは、疎水性のコーティングを有する電極を含み、電極に電圧が加えられることにより、疎水性のコーティングの溶解が引き起こされ、それによって、第2のサンプル領域へ前記流体サンプルの少なくとも一部を流れさせる、請求項3に記載のデバイス。
  5. 疎水性のコーティングはアルカンチオール自己組織化単分子膜を有する、請求項4に記載のデバイス。
  6. 第1のサンプル領域は第2のサンプル領域と流体連通した毛細管流路を含む、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
  7. 毛細管流路の少なくとも1つの壁は、感圧性接着剤の層を含む、請求項6に記載のデバイス。
  8. 感圧性接着剤の層は毛細管流路を通って前記流体サンプルの一部の流れを遅らせるために前記流体サンプルの一部と相互に作用する、請求項7に記載のデバイス。
  9. 少なくとも1つのトランスデューサは毛細管流路の壁に位置する、請求項7または8のいずれか1つに記載のデバイス。
  10. 第2のサンプル読み取り値は、流体サンプル中の1つ以上の分析物の存在または濃度を示す、請求項1−9のいずれか1つに記載のデバイス。
  11. 前記流体サンプルの量は約10nLから約10μLまでの範囲内である、請求項1−10のいずれか1つに記載のデバイス。
  12. 第1のサンプル領域に隣接する流体リザーバをさらに含み、流体リザーバは移動流体を含み、流体リザーバから第1のサンプル領域への移動流体の導入は、前記流体サンプルの少なくとも一部を第1のサンプル領域から第2のサンプル領域へ移動させる、請求項1−11のいずれか1つに記載のデバイス。
  13. 検出基材は微小多孔性の基材を含み、操作中に、前記流体サンプルの少なくとも一部が微小多孔性の基材を通過する、請求項1−12のいずれか1つに記載のデバイス。
  14. 微小多孔性の基材は、前記流体サンプルの少なくとも一部が流れの方向に微小多孔性の基材を通過する際に、流体の最前部の実質的な均一化を促すように構成された幾何学的形状を有する、請求項13に記載のデバイス。
  15. 微小多孔性の基材は、a)砂時計の形をした幾何学的形状、b)検出基材の中心方向の卵形の開口部、またはc)流体の最前部の実質的な均一化を促すための複数の開口部を有する、請求項14に記載のデバイス。
  16. 微小多孔性の基材は、流体の最前部の実質的な均一化を促すための複数の開口部を含む、請求項13に記載のデバイス。
