Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable measurement of the freezing point depression by applying ultrasonic vibration to specimen liquid of sub cooled state to thereby induce freezing of the specimen liquid and inserting only a temperature detector into the specimen.
CONSTITUTION: After a power is thrown, a cooling plate 8 is controlled at low temperature by an outside cooler. When a start switch 15 is closed, a nozzle 18 is inserted into a specimen container 19 by the instruction of a microcomputer 16, and specimen liquid 7 is introduced simultaneously into a flow cell 1. Then, a thermistor 6 is inserted into the specimen liquid 7. Vibration of a ultrasonic vibrator 5 is transmitted to the specimen liquid to stimulate freezing to allow the entire specimen liquid to be frozne. The freezing temperature is calculated by the microcomputer 16, and outputted to a display unit 32 or a printer 33.
