本開示は、種々の異なる燃料と共に用いられるように構成される燃料噴射器を提供するためのデバイス、システム、及び方法を説明する。幾つかの実施形態において、燃料噴射器は、電極のような点火構成要素を含み、組合せ噴射器−点火器として作用する。幾つかの実施形態において、燃料噴射器は、エンジンの燃焼室の中に燃料を噴射するときの燃料の形状又は他の特徴を修正するために燃料分与装置(例えば、弁)に2つ又はそれ以上の駆動力を付与するように構成される2つ又はそれ以上のドライバ又は力発生器を含む。例えば、燃料噴射器は、弁を開かせる電磁気ドライバと、開いた弁の開きを調節させる圧電ドライバとを含んでもよい。こうした調節は、とりわけ、変化する燃料密度の燃料エアロゾル、分散、又は霧のような余剰オキシダントの入った燃料の或る形状及び/又は表面積と体積との比を提供してもよい。
本明細書で解説されるように、種々の異なる燃料噴射器及び/又は燃料点火器は、噴射される燃料の形状の修正、燃料とオキシダントの混合物の形状の修正、システム及びデバイスの作動の修正などを含む、本明細書で説明される幾つかの又はすべてのプロセスを行ってもよい。図1は、本開示の種々の実施形態に従って構成される適切な一体化された燃料噴射器/点火器110の概略図である。噴射器110は、燃焼機関内の燃焼室のような燃焼室104に種々の異なる燃料を噴射してもよい。さらに、噴射器104は、燃焼特性、パラメータ、及び/又は燃焼室104内の状態に基づいて燃料噴射又はバーストのパターン及び/又は周波数を適応して調整してもよい。したがって、噴射器110は、急速点火のような利点を達成し、燃焼の終了にかかる時間を減少させ、又は完全燃焼を達成するのに燃料が移動する総距離を減少させ、若しくは燃焼イベントからの熱損失を減少させるように噴射される燃料の特徴(例えば、燃料の形状)を最適化し又は改善する可能性がある。燃料を噴射することに加えて、噴射器110はまた、噴射される燃料を点火するように構成される1つ又は複数の一体化された点火デバイス及び構成要素を用いて、噴射される燃料を点火してもよい。従って、噴射器110は、従来の内燃機関を多くの異なる燃料と共に用いられるように変換するのに使用することができる。
本明細書で解説されるように、本明細書で説明されるシステム、デバイス、及びプロセスは、異なる燃料タイプに対する種々の燃焼要件を最適化する。それらは、一緒に作用して或る燃料噴霧パターンを噴射する又は燃焼機関の燃焼室への燃料の導入を他の方法で変調する多数のアクチュエータ又はドライバ(例えば、圧電、磁気、油圧など)を有する燃料噴射器/点火器を含む。
1)燃料の到着に先立つオキシダントのプラズマイオン化。

3)燃焼室内のオキシダントの中に噴射される燃料のプラズマイオン化。
4)燃料の層に隣接する少なくともオキシダントの層のプラズマイオン化。
5)オキシダントの層に隣接する燃料の層に隣接するオキシダントの層のプラズマイオン化。
6)燃料とオキシダントの混合気のプラズマイオン化。
7)上記で説明されたイベントのいずれかの後のオキシダントのプラズマイオン化。
8)燃焼室の中に電磁気により押し進められるイオン電流のプラズマ生産
9)燃焼室内の所望のベクトルに電磁気により押し進められ且つ電磁気により加速されるイオン電流のプラズマ生産。
本明細書で解説されるように、幾つかの実施形態において、コントローラは、燃焼室内の或る計測される及び/又は検出される状態及び噴射される燃料と空気との混合気の点火又は燃焼イベントと関連する状態に基づいて、燃料噴射器又は燃料点火器の作動を修正する。幾つかの事例において、計測される状態は、点火イベントの間の空気−燃料混合気のイオン化と関連付けられる。空気−燃料混合気のイオン化の監視及び/又は判定に基づいて作動を修正することは、燃料噴射システムが、とりわけ、燃焼室内の電極の火花侵食を減少させ又は無くすことを可能にする。

Claims (24)
- 燃料噴射器であって、
ベース部とノズル部との間に延びる中間部を有する本体であり、燃料が前記ベース部と前記ノズル部との間を通過して燃料燃焼機関の燃焼室に流れることを可能にするように構成されたチャネルを含む、本体と、
前記本体の前記チャネル内に収容されるアクチュエータであり、遠位端と近位端とを有する、アクチュエータと、
前記チャネルに流体的に結合され、且つ前記アクチュエータの遠位端に作動可能に接続される、流量制御装置
前記アクチュエータの近位端に作動可能に接続される第1のドライバと、
前記アクチュエータの前記近位端に作動可能に接続される第2のドライバと、
前記ドライバに作動可能に接続され、且つ前記ドライバに作動命令を提供するように構成される、コントローラと、
を備える燃料噴射器。 - 前記第1のドライバが、前記アクチュエータに前記流量制御装置を前記ノズル部から開位置に外向きに移動させて前記チャネル内の燃料を前記チャネルから出すように構成されるドライバであり、前記第2のドライバが、前記流量制御装置が開位置にあるときに前記流量制御装置の前記移動を変調するように構成されるドライバである、請求項1に記載の燃料噴射器−点火器。
- 前記第1のドライバが、前記アクチュエータに前記流量制御装置を前記チャネルに対し横方向に移動させるように構成される電磁構成要素であり、前記第2のドライバが、前記流量制御装置の前記横方向移動を変調するように構成される圧電構成要素である、請求項1に記載の燃料噴射器−点火器。
- 前記流量制御装置が弁である、請求項1に記載の燃料噴射器−点火器。
- 前記燃料燃焼機関内の燃料点火イベントと関連付けられるパラメータを計測するように構成されるセンサと、
前記コントローラに位置し、前記センサから受信され且つ前記計測されるパラメータと関連付けられるデータに基づいて前記ドライバに提供される前記作動命令を修正するように構成される、流れ修正構成要素と、
をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の燃料噴射器−点火器。 - 直接燃料噴射エンジンの中に燃料を噴射するための燃料噴射器のコントローラにおける方法であって、
直接燃料噴射エンジンの燃焼室の内部の空気−燃料混合気と関連付けられる少なくとも1つのパラメータを計測するステップと、
燃料噴射器の弁を操作する1つ又は複数のドライバに命令を伝送するステップと、
を含み、前記命令が、
前記燃料噴射器から前記燃焼室の中に燃料を分与するための開位置への弁の運動と関連付けられる情報と、
前記燃焼室の中に分与される前記燃料の形状を修正するための前記弁が開位置にあるときの前記弁の移動の変調と関連付けられる命令と、
を含む、方法。 - 前記空気−燃料混合気と関連付けられる少なくとも1つのパラメータを計測するステップが、前記燃焼室内の前記空気−燃料混合気の点火中の前記空気−燃料混合気のイオン化度を計測することを含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記空気−燃料混合気と関連付けられる少なくとも1つのパラメータを計測するステップが、前記空気−燃料混合気内の空気と燃料の比を計測することを含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記空気−燃料混合気と関連付けられる少なくとも1つのパラメータを計測するステップが、燃焼室内の点火イベントの間の前記空気−燃料混合気の燃焼速度を計測することを含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 燃焼機関の燃焼室の中に燃料を噴射するように構成される燃料噴射システムであって、
燃料分与構成要素であり、前記燃焼室の中に或る表面積対体積比を有する燃料を分与するように構成される、燃料分与構成要素と、
計測構成要素であり、前記燃焼室内の状態を計測するように構成される、計測構成要素と、
前記燃料分与構成要素及び前記計測構成要素と通信する制御構成要素であり、前記燃焼室の中に分与される前記燃料の前記或る表面積対体積比の修正と関連付けられる命令を前記燃料分与構成要素に提供するように構成される、制御構成要素と、
を備えるシステム。 - 前記燃料分与構成要素が、
ベース部とノズル部との間に延びる中間部を有する本体であり、前記ノズル部が前記燃焼機関に前記本体を接続するように構成される、本体と、
燃料を貯蔵し、且つ前記ベース部から前記ノズル部に燃料が流れることを可能にするように構成される、前記本体内に位置するチャネルと、
前記チャネル内に位置するアクチュエータであり、遠位端と近位端とを有するアクチュエータと、
前記チャネルに流体的に結合され、且つ前記アクチュエータの前記遠位端に作動可能に接続される、弁と、
前記アクチュエータの前記近位端に作動可能に接続される第1のドライバであり、前記弁の開放と関連付けられる前記制御構成要素によって提供される前記命令の少なくとも第1の部分を受信する、第1のドライバと、
前記アクチュエータの前記近位端に作動可能に接続される第2のドライバであり、開放弁の変調と関連付けられる前記制御構成要素によって提供される前記命令の少なくとも第2の部分を受信する、第2のドライバと、
を含む、請求項10に記載のシステム。 - 前記計測構成要素が、燃焼イベントの間の前記燃焼室内の空気−燃料混合気のイオン化パラメータを計測するように構成される、請求項10に記載のシステム。
- 前記計測構成要素が、前記燃料分与構成要素内に位置するセンサである、請求項10に記載のシステム。
- 前記制御構成要素が、プロセッサとメモリとを含み、前記メモリが、前記燃焼室内の状態に対する分与される燃料の種々の表面積と体積との比に関する入力を含むリレーショナル・データベースを収容する、請求項10に記載のシステム。
- エンジンの燃焼室の中に燃料を噴射するための方法であって、
燃料噴射器の弁に第1の駆動力を適用するステップであり、前記第1の駆動力が前記弁を開き、前記燃料噴射器内の或る形状を有する燃料をエンジンの燃焼室の中に流すことになるステップと、
前記燃料噴射器の弁に第2の駆動力を適用するステップであり、前記第2の駆動力が前記弁を或る周波数で動かし、修正された形状を有する前記燃料を前記燃焼室の中に流すことになるステップと、
を含む方法。 - 前記燃焼室内の点火イベントの間の前記燃料と空気との混合物のイオン化と関連付けられる情報を受信するステップと、
受信した前記イオン化情報に基づいて前記或る周波数とは異なる周波数で前記弁を動かすために前記第2の駆動力を適用するステップと、
をさらに含む、請求項15に記載の方法。 - 前記或る形状が、前記燃料の前記表面積と前記燃料の前記体積との或る比率によって画定される、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 燃焼室内の燃料を点火するためのシステムであって、
燃料噴射器であり、燃焼室の中に燃料を噴射するように構成される燃料噴射器と、
2つの電極を含む燃料点火器であり、前記2つの電極に印加される電圧に応答して前記燃焼室内の空気と前記噴射される燃料との混合気を点火する電流を生じるように構成される、燃料点火器と、
イオン化センサであり、前記点火された混合物の前記イオン化を計測するように構成される、イオン化センサと、
作動コントローラであり、前記点火された混合物の前記計測されたイオン化に応答して前記燃料点火器の作動を修正するように構成される、作動コントローラと、
を備えるシステム。 - 前記作動コントローラが、前記計測されたイオン化に基づいて前記2つの電極に印加される前記電圧の極性を反転させる、請求項18に記載のシステム。
- 前記作動コントローラが、前記計測されたイオン化に基づいて前記2つの電極に印加される前記電圧の極性を反転させる周波数を調整する、請求項18に記載のシステム。
- 前記燃料点火器が、前記燃料噴射器の中に一体化される、請求項18に記載のシステム。
- 前記燃料点火器が、前記燃料噴射器から分離されるスパークプラグである、請求項18に記載のシステム。
- 燃料燃焼機関を作動させる方法であって、
前記燃料燃焼機関の燃焼室の中に燃料を噴射するステップと、
前記燃焼室内の電極に或る極性での電圧を印加して前記燃焼室内の空気と前記噴射される燃料との混合気を燃焼させるステップと、
エンジンサイクルの完了後に、
前記燃焼室の中に付加的な燃料を噴射するステップと、
前記エンジンサイクルの完了後に前記燃焼室内の前記電極に前記或る極性とは逆の極性での電圧を印加して空気と前記噴射される燃料との混合気を燃焼させるステップと、
を含む方法。 - 2つのエンジンサイクルの完了後に、
前記燃焼室の中に付加的な燃料を噴射するステップと、
前記2つのエンジンサイクルの完了後に前記燃焼室内に前記或る極性とは逆の極性での電圧を印加して空気と前記噴射される燃料との混合気を燃焼させるステップと、
をさらに含む、請求項23に記載の方法。
