Abstract
【解決手段】少なくとも2個のほぼ平行な情報層20、21が形成され、単一の走査ヘッドにより走査するのに適当な記録媒体について説明する。各情報層には情報が記録されている制御ブロック26、31が形成され、この情報を用いて情報層に記録されているユーザ情報を再生することができる。これら制御情報は、走査ヘッドを最小変位させることにより走査装置により順次読みだすことができるように配置する。

Claims (9)
- 透明基板及び少なくとも2個のほぼ平行な情報層を有する光学式ディスク状記録媒体であって、
各情報層は、ユーザ情報のためにフォーマットされている領域を含み、
これら情報層のうちの少なくとも1つの情報層は、これら情報層を走査するための制御情報を有する制御ブロックを複数含む制御領域を含み、これら制御ブロックは同一の内容を有し、
前記制御情報は、
当該記録媒体の形式のインディケーション、
当該記録媒体の前記情報層の数及びユーザ情報のブロックの数のインディケーション、並びに
記録された情報の暗号に関する情報、
を含むことを特徴とする記録媒体。 - 請求項1に記載の記録媒体において、
各情報層が、対応する制御領域を有することを特徴とする記録媒体。 - 請求項2に記載の記録媒体において、
前記制御情報はさらに、当該制御情報を含む情報層の順序番号のインディケーションを含むことを特徴とする記録媒体。 - 請求項1に記載の記録媒体において、
ある情報層のユーザ情報のトラックが、別の情報層のユーザ情報のトラックと反対の方向に順序付けられていることを特徴とする記録媒体。 - 請求項1に記載の記録媒体において、
各情報層において、前記制御情報が、読み取られるべきユーザ情報の当該情報層におけるアドレスを決定するための情報を含むためにフォーマットされている当該情報層のTOCを含むことを特徴とする記録媒体。 - 透明基板及び少なくとも2個のほぼ平行な情報層を有する光学式ディスク状記録媒体であって、各情報層は、ユーザ情報のためにフォーマットされている領域を含み、これら情報層のうちの少なくとも1つの情報層は、これら情報層を走査するための制御情報を有する制御ブロックを複数含む制御領域を含み、これら制御ブロックは同一の内容を有する、記録媒体を読み取る方法であって、
当該記録媒体の形式のインディケーション、
当該記録媒体の前記情報層の数及びユーザ情報のブロックの数のインディケーション、並びに
記録された情報の暗号に関する情報、
を含む前記制御情報を当該記録媒体から得るために集束スポットが位置する情報層の前記制御領域を走査するステップ、及び
読み出されるべき他の情報層のトラックの走査中レンズが集束スポットを維持するように制御するステップであって、異なる情報層の走査に関し前記制御領域から得られた前記制御情報に基づいてサーボ系により前記制御が行われるステップ、
を有することを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項6に記載の方法において、
各情報層が、対応する制御領域を有することを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項7に記載の方法において、
前記制御情報はさらに、当該制御情報を含む情報層の順序番号のインディケーションを含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1乃至5の何れか一項に記載の記録媒体を走査する装置であって、当該装置は、情報層上に放射ビームを集束するための手段を有し、
前記手段は、
− 前記放射ビームを発生するための放射源、
− 前記放射ビームを集束スポットに集束するためのレンズ系、
− 反射した放射を電気信号に変換するための検出手段、及び
− サーボ手段を制御するための制御ユニット、
を有する装置において、
前記制御ユニットは、
当該記録媒体の形式のインディケーション、
当該記録媒体の前記情報層の数及びユーザ情報のブロックの数のインディケーション、並びに
記録された情報の暗号に関する情報、
を決定するため、前記情報層を走査するための制御情報を有する制御領域を読み取るべく情報層上に前記集束スポットが位置するように前記サーボ手段を制御するように構成されることを特徴とする装置。
