Abstract

PURPOSE:To lighten the burden on a host computer even if various kinds of information exist mixedly on the same disk by bisecting a writable and rewritable region of each sector of the disk and recording separately an information signal to an information area and a control signal to a control area. CONSTITUTION:The writable and rewritable region 12 of each sector is further divided into two areas; a 1st area is recorded as the information area 14 with bits of the user's information such as computer data and documents, etc., while a 2nd area is recorded as the control area 13 with control signal 23 such as secret signals and code keys. Then, an unrewritable separation area 15 is provided on the border of said areas. The erasing prior to the information recording is carried out over the whole rewritable area, and a bit of recording information 24 is recorded by a recording head into the writable and rewritable area 12, but in this case, the recording is performed into the information area 14 only by jumping over the control area 13, while the control signal 23 is simultaneously or separately recorded into the control area 13. By this method, the read and rewrite are manageably executed by the disk itself with a reference result of the control signal 23, thus drastically lightening the burden of the host computer.
