Abstract
【解決手段】機関始動時に燃焼空燃比を理論空燃比よりリーンとし(時刻t1)、機関排気系に配置された三元触媒装置の排気上流部だけが触媒活性化温度へ昇温されたと判断された時に(時刻t2)、燃焼空燃比を理論空燃比よりリッチとし、三元触媒装置の排気下流部を昇温する。

Claims (7)
- 機関始動時に燃焼空燃比を理論空燃比よりリーンとし、機関排気系に配置された三元触媒装置の排気上流部だけが触媒活性化温度へ昇温されたと判断された時に、燃焼空燃比を理論空燃比よりリッチとし、前記三元触媒装置の排気下流部を昇温することを特徴とする内燃機関の空燃比制御装置。
- 燃焼空燃比をリーンとして触媒活性化温度へ昇温させる三元触媒装置の前記排気上流部の容積は、機関始動時の排気ガス量が多いほど大きく変更されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の空燃比制御装置。
- 前記三元触媒装置の長手方向中央部の測定温度に基づき前記排気上流部だけが触媒活性化温度へ昇温されたと判断することを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の内燃機関の空燃比制御装置。
- 燃焼空燃比が理論空燃比よりリッチとされたことにより前記三元触媒装置のO2ストレージ量が設定量に減少したと推定される時には燃焼空燃比を理論空燃比とすることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の内燃機関の空燃比制御装置。
- 燃焼空燃比が理論空燃比よりリッチとされたことにより前記三元触媒装置のO2ストレージ量が設定量に減少したと推定される時には理論空燃比を中心として燃焼空燃比をリッチ側及びリーン側へ交互に変動させることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の内燃機関の空燃比制御装置。
- 燃焼空燃比の変動の振幅は、前記三元触媒装置の前記排気下流部の温度が高いほど小さくすることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の内燃機関の空燃比制御装置。
- 燃焼空燃比の変動の周期は、前記三元触媒装置の前記排気下流部の温度が高いほど大きくすることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の内燃機関の空燃比制御装置。
