Abstract
Description
ここで用いられる用語「基地局」は、限定的ではないが、基地局、ノードB、サイト制御装置、アクセスポイント、または無線環境において、その基地局が関連付けられたネットワークへの無線アクセスをWTRUに提供する他のインタフェース機器を含む。
ここで用いられる用語「WTRU」は、限定的ではないが、ユーザ設備、移動体装置、固定または移動型の加入者ユニット、ページャー、または無線環境で動作する能力を有する他の任意の形態の機器を含む。WTRUは、ネットワーク接続機能を有する電話機、テレビ電話、インターネット接続電話などのパーソナル通信機器を含む。さらにWTRUは、同様のネットワーク化能力を持つ無線モデムを有するPDA、ノート型コンピューターなどの、携帯型パーソナル計算機を含む。携帯型の、またはそうでなければ位置を変えることができるWTRUは、移動体ユニットと呼ばれる。
基地局がアドホックネットワークに加わる場合には、別のWTRUとして扱われ、通常、通信フローの制御はしない。例えば、図1Bは、アドホックネットワークにおいてWTRU18およびWTRU20との通信における基地局54を示す。このシナリオでは、基地局54はデータフローの制御はしない。
1つの方法において、選択されたデフォルト制御限界値を、ピア・ツー・ピアモード通信に使用し、このデフォルトは、ネットワーク基地局とのインフラストラクチャ通信で受信された通信信号に基づいて上書きされる。ピア・ツー・ピアモード通信に使用されるデフォルト制御限界としては、ピア・ツー・ピア通信の最大の持続時間およびピア・ツー・ピア通信で許容されるデータトラフィックの型に関する制約を含むことができる。
別の方法は、インフラストラクチャ通信モードを介するネットワーク基地局とピア・ツー・ピア通信モードを介する別のWTRUとの間で、通信を中継するために、中継モードにおいて選択的に機能するように構成されているWTRUトランシーバ構成要素を含む。そのような場合には、WTRUトランシーバ構成要素は、好ましくは、サービス品質基準に基づいて、中継モードにおいて機能するように制御される。
Claims (33)
- ネットワーク基地局を介する無線ネットワークにおけるインフラストラクチャ通信と、他の無線送受信ユニット(WTRU:Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit)とのピア・ツー・ピア通信のためのWTRUであって、
ネットワーク基地局とのインフラストラクチャ通信のためのインフラストラクチャ通信モードにおいて、および他のWTRUとのピア・ツー・ピア通信のためのピア・ツー・ピア通信モードにおいて、選択的に動作するように構成されたトランシーバ構成要素と、
ネットワーク基地局とのインフラストラクチャ通信において受信された通信信号に基づいて、他のWTRUとのピア・ツー・ピアモード通信を選択的に制御するように構成されたトランシーバ制御装置と
を備えたことを特徴とするWTRU。 - 前記トランシーバ制御装置は、ネットワーク基地局とのインフラストラクチャ通信において受信された通信信号に基づいて上書きが可能な、ピア・ツー・ピアモード通信に対して選択されたデフォルト制御限界で構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発明。
- 前記トランシーバ制御装置のピア・ツー・ピアモード通信に対して選択されたデフォルト制御限界は、ピア・ツー・ピア通信の最大持続時間、およびピア・ツー・ピア通信において受容されるデータトラフィックの型に関する制約を含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の発明。
- 前記トランシーバ構成要素は、他のWTRUとの前記ピア・ツー・ピア通信に対する無線ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク(WLAN:Wireless Local Area Network)モデムを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発明。
- 前記トランシーバ制御装置は、前記トランシーバ構成要素を制御して、サービス品質基準に基づいて、インフラストラクチャ通信モードとピア・ツー・ピア通信モードとの間を切り換えるように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発明。
- 前記WTRUは、移動体ユニットであり、前記トランシーバ制御装置は、前記移動体ユニットの地理的な位置の推定値に基づいて、前記トランシーバ構成要素を制御して、インフラストラクチャ通信モードとピア・ツー・ピア通信モードとの間を切り換えるように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発明。
- 前記移動体ユニットの前記地理的な位置の推定値を生成する全地球測位システム(GPS:Global Positioning System)をさらに備えたことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の発明。
- 前記トランシーバ構成要素は、中継モードにおいて選択的に機能するように構成され、インフラストラクチャ通信モードを介するネットワーク基地局とピア・ツー・ピア通信モードを介する別のWTRUとの間で通信を中継し、前記トランシーバ制御装置は、サービス品質基準に基づいて前記中継モードで機能するために、前記トランシーバ構成要素を制御するように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発明。
- 前記トランシーバ制御装置は、ネットワーク基地局とのインフラストラクチャ通信において受信された設定に基づいて、それぞれのピア・ツー・ピアモード通信を制御するように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発明。
- 前記トランシーバ制御装置は、ピア・ツー・ピアモード通信に対する選択されたデフォルト制御限界で構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発明。
- ネットワーク基地局を介する無線ネットワークにおけるインフラストラクチャ通信のためのインフラストラクチャ通信モードと、前記無線ネットワークにおけるインフラストラクチャ通信に対して構成された他の無線送受信ユニット(WTRU:Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit)とのピア・ツー・ピア通信のためのピア・ツー・ピア通信モードとにおいて、選択的に動作するように構成されたトランシーバ構成要素を有するWTRUの無線通信の方法であって、該方法は、
ネットワーク基地局とのインフラストラクチャ通信において受信された通信信号に基づいて、他のWTRUとのピア・ツー・ピアモード通信を選択的に制御するステップ
を備えたことを特徴とする方法。 - ピア・ツー・ピアモード通信に対して選択されたデフォルト制御限界を使用し、ネットワーク基地局とのインフラストラクチャ通信において受信された通信信号に基づいて、前記デフォルト値を上書きするステップをさらに備えたことを特徴とする請求項11に記載の方法。
- ピア・ツー・ピア通信の最大持続時間およびピア・ツー・ピア通信で受容されるデータトラフィックの型に関する制約を、ピア・ツー・ピアモード通信に対して使用される前記デフォルト制御限界として含めることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
- 無線ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク(WLAN:Wireless Local Area Network)モデムを、他のWTRUとの前記ピア・ツー・ピア通信に対して使用することを特徴とする請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記トランシーバ構成要素は、サービス品質基準に基づいて、インフラストラクチャ通信モードとピア・ツー・ピア通信モードとの間を切り換えられることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記WTRUは、移動体ユニットであり、前記トランシーバ構成要素は、前記移動体ユニットの地理的な位置の推定値および/または輻輳の推定値に基づいて、インフラストラクチャ通信モードとピア・ツー・ピア通信モードとの間を切り換えられることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記WTRUは、全地球測位システム(GPS:Global Positioning System)を含み、前記方法は、前記移動体ユニットの地理的な位置の推定値を生成するGPSを使用し、輻輳の推定値を生成するために前記WTRUからテストパケットを送出するステップをさらに備えたことを特徴とする請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記トランシーバ構成要素は、中継モードにおいて選択的に機能するように構成され、インフラストラクチャ通信モードを介するネットワーク基地局とピア・ツー・ピア通信モードを介する別のWTRUとの間で通信を中継し、前記方法は、サービス品質基準に基づいて前記中継モードで機能するために、前記トランシーバ構成要素を制御するステップをさらに備えたことを特徴とする請求項11に記載の方法。
- ネットワーク基地局とのインフラストラクチャ通信において受信された設定を使用して、それぞれのピア・ツー・ピアモード通信を制御することを特徴とする請求項11に記載の方法。
- 無線ネットワークにおけるインフラストラクチャ通信のためのインフラストラクチャ通信モードと、前記無線ネットワークにおけるインフラストラクチャ通信に対して構成された他の無線送受信ユニット(WTRU:Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit)とのピア・ツー・ピア通信のためのピア・ツー・ピア通信モードとにおいて、選択的に動作するように構成されたトランシーバ構成要素を有するWTRUにより制御された無線通信を提供する無線ネットワークであって、
マルチモードWTRUとのインフラストラクチャ通信モードにおいて、選択的に動作するように構成されたトランシーバを有する少なくとも1つの基地局と、
1つのWTRUにおいてインフラストラクチャ通信を介した制御信号の伝送を選択的に制御し、そのWTRUにおける他のWTRUとのピア・ツー・ピアモード通信を制御するように構成された制御装置と
を備えたことを特徴とする無線ネットワーク。 - 前記制御装置は、ピア・ツー・ピアモード通信に対する選択されたデフォルトWTRU制御限界を上書きするために、上書き制御信号を提供するように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項20に記載の発明。
- 前記WTRUは、他のWTRUとの前記ピア・ツー・ピア通信のための無線ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク(WLAN:Wireless Local Area Network)モデムを含み、前記制御装置は、1つのWTRUにおいてインフラストラクチャ通信を介した制御信号の伝送を選択的に制御し、そのWTRUにおける他のWTRUとのWLANピア・ツー・ピアモード通信を制御するように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項20に記載の発明。
- 前記制御装置は、1つのWTRUとのインフラストラクチャ通信を介する制御信号の伝送を選択的に制御して、サービス品質基準に基づいて、インフラストラクチャ通信モードとピア・ツー・ピア通信モードとの間を切り換えるために、そのWTRUを制御するように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項20に記載の発明。
- 前記WTRUの少なくともいくつかは、移動体ユニットであり、前記制御装置は、1つの移動体ユニットとのインフラストラクチャ通信を介する制御信号の伝送を選択的に制御して、前記移動体ユニットの地理的な位置の推定値に基づいて、インフラストラクチャ通信モードとピア・ツー・ピア通信モードとの間を切り換えるために、その移動体ユニットを制御するように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項20に記載の発明。
- 前記移動体ユニットからの伝送の受信に基づいて、前記移動体ユニットの地理的な位置の推定値を生成する処理構成要素をさらに備えたことを特徴とする請求項23に記載の発明。
- ネットワーク基地局を介する無線ネットワークにおけるインフラストラクチャ通信のためのインフラストラクチャ通信モードと、前記無線ネットワークにおけるインフラストラクチャ通信に対して構成された他の無線送受信ユニット(WTRU:Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit)とのピア・ツー・ピア通信のためのピア・ツー・ピア通信モードとにおいて、選択的に動作するように構成されたトランシーバ構成要素を有するWTRUとの制御された無線通信を提供する無線ネットワークの無線通信の方法であって、該方法は、
ネットワーク基地局からインフラストラクチャ通信モードにおいて、1つのWTRUへ制御信号を送信し、そのWTRUにおける他のWTRUとのピア・ツー・ピアモード通信を制御するステップ
を備えたことを特徴とする方法。 - ピア・ツー・ピアモード通信に対して選択されたデフォルト制御限界を使用し、前記ネットワーク基地局により送信された前記制御信号に基づいて、前記デフォルト値を上書きするステップをさらに備えたことを特徴とする請求項26に記載の方法。
- ピア・ツー・ピア通信の最大持続時間およびピア・ツー・ピア通信で受容されるデータトラフィックの型に関する制約を、ピア・ツー・ピアモード通信に対して使用される前記デフォルト制御限界として含めることを特徴とする請求項27に記載の方法。
- 無線ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク(WLAN:Wireless Local Area Network)モデムを、前記WTRUとの前記ピア・ツー・ピア通信に対して使用することを特徴とする請求項26に記載の方法。
- 前記制御信号は、前記WTRUに送信され、サービス品質基準に基づいて、インフラストラクチャ通信モードとピア・ツー・ピア通信モードとの間を切り換えることを特徴とする請求項26に記載の方法。
- 前記WTRUは、移動体ユニットであり、前記制御信号は、前記移動体ユニットに送信され、前記移動体ユニットの地理的な位置の推定値に基づいて、インフラストラクチャ通信モードとピア・ツー・ピア通信モードとの間を切り換えることを特徴とする請求項26に記載の方法。
- 前記移動体ユニットの地理的な位置の前記推定値は、前記ネットワーク基地局により受信された前記移動体ユニットからの信号に基づいて生成されることを特徴とする請求項31に記載の方法。
- 前記WTRUは、中継モードにおいて選択的に機能するように構成され、インフラストラクチャ通信モードを介するネットワーク基地局とピア・ツー・ピア通信モードを介する別のWTRUとの間で通信を中継し、前記方法は、サービス品質基準に基づいて前記中継モードで機能するために、前記WTRUを制御することをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項26に記載の方法。
