Definitions
- the invention relates to a container, in particular as a work or living space, with a main box element and at least one additional box element with a side open to the main box element, the additional box element (s) being able to be moved out of and into the main box element .
- containers have been designed (cf. DE-A-39 11 511) which consist of a main box element and one or two additional box elements, the additional box elements being nested within the main box element during transport and can be extended on site from the main box element on two opposite sides, which means that the floor area can be almost tripled.
- the additional box elements have rigid walls and are each open to the main box element.
- This type of container can be made using appropriate sealing elements seal easily and well, which is particularly important for use in the military sector.
- they have the disadvantage that after the additional box elements have been pushed out there are level differences between the bottoms of the main box element and additional box elements.
- they are compensated for by placing correspondingly high base plates in the main box element when the additional box elements are pushed out. Apart from the fact that this limits the usable height in the main box element, such a solution also hinders the installation of medical devices, cabinets or the like.
- the invention has for its object to design a container of the type described above so that its usable volume is restricted as little as possible and the provision of the container can be carried out faster and easier with the additional box element pushed out.
- a first and a second additional box element should preferably be provided, which can be extended on opposite sides of the main box element and for which a first and a second lifting device are provided.
- the second additional box element should be dimensioned such that it can be moved into the first additional box element, the second lifting device being designed such that the second additional box element can be raised to such an extent that it can be moved into the first additional box element.
- the basic idea of the invention is additional box elements to be used with rigid floors, which can be kept well sealed even when extending and retracting into the main box element and which can be manufactured easily and stably.
- Lifting devices ensure that the additional box elements are raised before or when they are retracted into the main box element, and vice versa that when the additional box elements are extended they are lowered so that the floors of the main box element and additional box elements lie in one plane.
- extendable guideways are provided for each additional box element, for example in the form of rail supports, and the additional box elements have rollers which roll over the guideways when the additional box elements move.
- a simple form of the lifting device consists in the fact that the guideways have inclined steps sloping outwards to lower the additional box elements when extending or to raise when retracting. This can expediently take place in such a way that inclined steps are provided at the beginning and at the end of each guideway and that the additional box elements have rollers on the outside which are arranged lower by the height of the inside inclined step than the inside rollers. This ensures that the respective additional box element extends while maintaining its horizontal position and only reaches both inclined steps immediately before reaching the end position and then rolls down over them simultaneously.
- the guideways consist of supports and rail elements, the rail elements being vertically movable via lifting devices.
- Such lifting devices can each be distributed over the length of the rail elements and coupled via a common spindle drive. It is advisable to connect the spindle drives via a common drive shaft, which is preferably arranged at the free ends of the guideways.
- the lifting device has lowering elements which enable lowering due to the action of gravity when the relevant additional box element is opened and at least one resistance element for delaying the lowering movement of the additional box element is present.
- the lifting devices are designed so that the additional box element, which is extended out of the main box element into a starting position, can be lowered from this starting position via lowering elements, in particular without further manual actuation, in particular to the level of the end position of the additional box element.
- a special resistance element which generates a resistance force acting essentially against the lowering direction on the additional box element, prevents the additional box element from accelerating excessively when lowering, so that only slight vibrations occur when braking when the end position is reached.
- the resistance element can have a spring and in particular an elastic coil spring. If the spring hardness and the length are adapted to the expected load from the additional box element, shocks when lowering the additional box element are effectively avoided. In addition, it is particularly advantageous that when the additional box element is lowered, energy is stored in the spring which can be used again when the additional box element is retracted. The lifting of the additional box element when retracting is supported by the action of the spring.
- the resistance element can also have an attenuator, such as a friction damper designed as a gas pressure damper or oil damper. A particularly quiet lowering of the additional box element is thereby achieved.
- an attenuator such as a friction damper designed as a gas pressure damper or oil damper.
- extendable guideways are provided for each additional box element, the additional box elements having rollers which roll over the guideways when the additional box elements move, and wherein the guideways have outer, movable end regions for lowering the additional box elements, each with at least one resistance element in Connect.
- the end regions of the guideways, as lowering elements, form part of the lifting devices according to the invention, so that the additional box element, which rests on the end region with a roller, is gently lowered against the resistance of the resistance element connected to the end region.
- the resistance elements are arranged on or in the guideways, wherein they preferably extend in the longitudinal direction of the guideways. This ensures that the resistance elements do not take up any additional installation space, so that the lifting device provided according to the invention is particularly compact.
- the lowering elements provided on the outside of the guideways can be lowered from a horizontal starting position into a downwardly inclined end position, the end regions advantageously being pivoted downwards.
- the guideways are advantageously extended by the roller of the additional box element which is in contact with the stop when the additional box element is extended. This enables the container to be set up particularly quickly because the guideways are not need to be extended separately in front of the additional box element.
- the stop allows the auxiliary box element to be guided precisely when lowering.
- the weight of the additional box element in question and the properties of the resistance element are preferably matched to one another in such a way that the associated lowering elements essentially only lower when a roller of the additional box element reaches the stop when the guide track is fully extended.
- the guideway then remains in a horizontal position together with the lowering elements until the additional box element is almost completely extended from the main box element, so that the bottom of the additional box element remains in a horizontal position even during the assembly of the container.
- the lowering elements are guided with lowering mechanisms which are designed in such a way that when they are lowered, the end regions carry out a combination of translational movements, in particular in the downward direction and pivoting movement.
- the lowering mechanism having a combination of a sliding guide both in the longitudinal direction of the guideways and in the lowering direction of the additional box element and of a swivel joint for pivoting about a direction transverse to the guideways.
- the lowering mechanism is designed as a link guide, each having a guide groove and a molding cam movable in the guide groove.
- the molding cam is attached to the pivotable lowering element, while the guide groove is provided on the guide track.
- the cooperating guide surfaces of the guide groove and molded cams are each designed as sub-segments of circular rings with matching radii.
- Such a backdrop guide is particularly easy to manufacture.
- the guideways each have outwardly sloping steps as lowering elements for lowering the additional box elements.
- the link guides are designed in such a way that a roll of the additional box element in the end region abutting the stop performs a movement when it is lowered which corresponds to the movement of at least one roll of the additional box element running in the region of an inclined step, the result is a particularly precise lowering of the additional box element.
- an inclined step is provided at the beginning of each guideway and in which the additional box elements have rollers on the outside that are arranged lower by the height of the inclined step than the inside rollers, the bottom wall of the additional box element always remains horizontally oriented as it descends.
- one resistance element is connected at one end to a guide track, a cable connection being used to connect a lowering element to the other end of the resistance element.
- the lifting device has a manually operable winch, which extends between an additional box element and a main box element, in particular for moving the additional box element into the main box element.
- a winch which extends between an additional box element and a main box element, in particular for moving the additional box element into the main box element.
- the additional box element can be used in a simple and energy-saving manner drive into the main box element, the winch being used to overcome the inclined steps, in particular when designing the guideways with inclined steps.
- the winch can also be used when lowering an additional box element.
- the container 1 shown in FIGS. 1 to 5 has a cuboid main box element 2 and two additional box elements 3, 4.
- the main box element 2 has two end walls 5, 6, two side walls 7, 8, a top wall 9 and a bottom wall 10 ⁇ .
- the side walls 7, 8 have openings 11, 12 which are adapted to the cross sections of the additional box elements 3, 4.
- the first additional box element 3 has a side wall 14, two opposite end walls 15, 16 and a bottom wall 17 and a top wall 18.
- the additional box elements 3, 4 are completely moved into the main box element 2 in the transport state of the container 1, as can be seen in FIGS. 1 and 2, in such a way that their side walls 14, 19 are flush with the side walls 7, 8 of the main box element 2 lie.
- the additional box elements 3, 4 are nested, i.e. the second additional box element 4 is inserted into the first additional box element 3.
- the second additional box element 4 is dimensioned so small that it just fits into the first additional box element 3.
- the second additional box element 4 has an entrance door 24 in its end wall 21.
- Guide tubes are installed in the bottom of the main box element. There is an extendable rail system in these guide tubes installed, of which four rail supports 25, 26, 27, 28 can be seen in the extended state on one side in FIG. They are intended to support the first additional box element 3 when it is extended. A corresponding rail system exists for the support of the second additional box element 4 and can be extended to the opposite side, as can be seen from FIG. 3. In this view, the four rail supports, of which only the front rail support 29 can be seen here, lie one behind the other. The rail supports on each side are connected to each other by a connecting profile 30 ⁇ .
- the outer rail supports 25, 28 are flanked by stabilizing supports 31, 32. They can be pivoted about vertical axes in accordance with the arrows and serve as a guide when pulling out the rail supports 25, 26, 27, 28 and for intercepting the loads acting on the rail supports 25, 26, 27, 28. In this way, additional support and leveling of the rail supports 25, 26, 27, 28 towards the floor can generally be dispensed with.
- the fold-out stabilizing brackets 31, 32 guarantee absolute parallelism of the extendable rail brackets 25, 26, 27, 28 with the bottom wall 10 ⁇ of the main box element 2.
- the second additional box element 4 is guided laterally on the stabilizing brackets 31, 32 when extended. It goes without saying that corresponding stabilizing supports are provided for the opposite rail system.
- the additional box elements 3, 4 are supported on their undersides on roller systems.
- a roller system is provided for each rail support 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, of which only one roller system can be seen in FIGS. 2 to 5.
- the first additional box element 3 has four support rollers 33, 34, 35, 36, which are spaced apart from one another at the same height per roller system and which extend almost over the entire width of the container 1 are distributed.
- an outer support roller 37 is provided in the region of the side wall 14, which is arranged somewhat lower than the other support rollers 33, 34, 35, 36.
- the second additional box element 4 also has four support rollers 38, 39, 40 ⁇ , 41 distributed over its width at the same height per roller system.
- two further support rollers 42, 43 are arranged on the outside, which are at a lower level than the support rollers 38, 39, 40 ⁇ , 41, the outermost support roller 43 being at the lowest level.
- the bottom wall 10 ⁇ of the main box element 3 is delimited in the region of its side walls 7, 8 by bevels 44, 45 sloping from the outside.
- a triangular ledge 46 is additionally provided on the right-hand side, which rests removably on the bottom wall 10 ⁇ and whose right-sided sloping surface continues the right-sided sloping 45 of the bottom wall 10 ⁇ upwards.
- the height of the triangular ledge 46 corresponds to that of the bottom wall 17 of the first additional box element 3.
- the extension box elements 3, 4 are pulled out as follows. First, the stabilizing beams 31, 32 are pivoted out into the position shown in FIG. 1. Then the rail supports 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 are extended on both sides. Rails 47, 48 are attached to them. Then the second additional box element 4 is first pushed out. The support rollers 38, 39, 40 ⁇ , 41 roll on the bottom wall 17 of the first additional box element 3, while the outermost support rollers 45 run on the rails 48. The level difference between the upper edges of the rails 48 and the top of the bottom wall 17 of the first additional box element 3 corresponds to the level difference between the outermost support rollers 43 and the support rollers 38, 39, 40 ⁇ , 41. In this way, the second additional box element 4 initially extends horizontally , ie there is no canting.
- the second additional box element 4 is only carried by the outermost support rollers 43 and the innermost support rollers 38.
- the rail supports 29 and thus also the rails 48 have inclined steps 49 that drop outwards.
- the inclined steps 49 are reached by the outermost support rollers 43 when the innermost support rollers 38 lie in front of the outer slope of the triangular ledge 46 and the slope 45 of the bottom wall 10wand.
- the innermost support rollers 38 simultaneously move downward via the triangular ledge 46 and the bevel 45 and the outermost support rollers 43 via the inclined steps 49.
- the first additional box element 3 can then be extended, the outer support rollers 37 initially being supported solely on the rails 47 of the rail supports 25, 26, 27, 28.
- the level difference between the outer support rollers 37 and the other support rollers 33, 34, 35, 36 corresponds to the level difference between the upper edges of the rails 47 and the top of the bottom wall 10 ⁇ of the main box element 2. This has the effect that the first additional box element 3 while maintaining it extends horizontal position.
- the rail supports 25, 26, 27, 28 and also the rails 47 lying thereon also have, at their free ends, outwardly sloping steps 50 ⁇ , the distance to the slope 44 of the bottom wall 10 ⁇ being such that the innermost support roller 33 has the slope 44 and the outer support roller 37 reach the inclined step 50 ⁇ simultaneously and also simultaneously roll over both.
- the first additional box element 3 lowers so far that the support rollers 33, 34, 35, 36 come to rest on the rails 47.
- the height of the upper edge of the rails 47 is such that the lowering takes place to a level at which the top of the bottom wall 17 of the first additional box element 3 comes to lie at the same height as the top of the bottom wall 10wand of the main box element 2.
- the insertion of the additional box elements 3, 4 is done essentially in the opposite way. If devices are installed in the main box element 2, they are inserted into the second additional box element 4 via the rails already described above and fixed there. Then the triangle bar 46 is placed on the bottom wall 10 ⁇ . Then the first additional box element 3 is first moved into the main box element 2 with traction means not shown here. The inclined steps 50 ⁇ and the bevel 44 ensure that the first additional box element 3 is raised to a level at which the support rollers 33, 34, 35, 36 can roll up onto the bottom wall 10 ⁇ of the main box element 2. The first additional box element 3 is retracted when it has reached the position shown in FIG. 2.
- the second additional box element 4 is also retracted.
- the additional support rollers 42, 43 are rolled onto the inclined steps 49 and the innermost support rollers 38 raised to the bevel 45 and then to their continuation in the form of the triangular strip 46, to the extent that the second additional box element 4 can move into the first and the support rollers 33, 34, 35, 36 can open on the bottom wall 17 thereof.
- FIGS. 6 to 12 Another container 61 of similar construction is shown in FIGS. 6 to 12. Like the container 1, it has a cuboid main box element 62 and two additional box elements 63, 64.
- the main box element 62 corresponds to that of the container 1 and accordingly has a bottom wall 65, a top wall 66, side walls not visible here and end walls 67.

In this way, the second additional box element 118 moves horizontally out of the main box element 116 so that there is no canting between them.
- the second additional box element 118 is carried only by the outermost support rollers 136 and the innermost support rollers 135, as can be seen in FIG.
- the innermost support roller 135 moves downward via the triangular ledge 138 and the slope 137.
- the end element 125 swivels downward into the position shown in FIG. 14 under the load of the additional box element 118 and under the longitudinal force which is generated by the innermost support roller 135 on the triangular strip 138 and the slope and runs in the direction of the rail support.
- the helical spring 129 When the end element 125 pivots from the position shown in FIG. 13 to the position shown in FIG. 14, the helical spring 129 is compressed, so that as the second auxiliary box element 118 progressively lowers, a greater resistance to the lowering acts on it. In this way, the lowering takes place in a particularly gentle manner.
- the coil spring 129 is tuned so that the above-described decelerated lowering movement can take place in a wide weight range for additional box elements.
- the height of the upper edges of the rail supports 123 is dimensioned such that the lowering takes place to such an extent that the upper sides of the bottom walls 119 of the main box element 116 and the top of the bottom wall 121 of the second additional box element 118 come to lie at the same level.
- the first additional box element 117 can be extended, and after removing the triangular strip 138, a flat floor extends over both additional box elements 117, 118 and the main box element 116.
- the insertion of the additional box elements 117, 118 occurs essentially in the opposite way.
- the triangle bar 138 placed on the bottom wall 119 and the first additional box element 117 moved into the main box element 116.
- the first additional box element 117 is retracted when it has reached the position shown in FIGS. 13 and 14.
- the second additional box element 118 is also retracted.
- the second additional box element 118 is acted upon with traction means not shown in this view with a force directed onto the main box element 116 such that the innermost support roller 135 moves up the slope 137 from the position shown in FIG. This raises the second additional box element 118.
- This movement is supported by the spring force of the helical spring 129 acting on the end element 125, the force of which acts on the outer support roller 136 via the stop horn 139 and is introduced into the second additional box element 118 via this.
- the special design of the link guide 126 ensures that the outer support roller 136 is guided during the movement of the additional box element 118 up and down so that with the support roller 135 moving upward to the left via the slope 137 and the triangular ledge 138, the bottom wall 121 essentially always remains parallel to the upper surface of the bottom wall 119 of the main box element 116.
- the end element 125 is also again in its starting position shown in FIG. Then the additional box element 118 is pushed onto the innermost support roller 136 and on the outer support roller 136 in a rolling manner into the main box element 116, the outer support roller 136 rolling on the rail support 123.
- the rail supports 123 are finally pushed into the bottom wall 119 of the main box element 116, after which the container 115 is in a transportable state.
- FIG. 15 shows a detailed illustration of the end region of the rail support 123 with the movable end element 125, this being shown both in the starting position shown in FIG. 13 and in the downward pivoted position shown in FIG.
- the link guide 126 has a mold cam 140 ⁇ which is particularly clearly visible in this view in the form of a circular arc segment rounded at its ends and which is formed on the side wall 131.
- a likewise circular segment-shaped guide groove 141 runs on the forming cam 140 ⁇ and is provided in a partial area of the end element 125.
- the end element 125 moves when pivoting by moving the guide groove over the molding cam 140 ⁇ , so that it carries out a translational movement directed obliquely to the bottom right and a pivoting movement about an axis perpendicular to the plane of the drawing.
- the pivoting movement of the end element 125 takes place in such a way that the outer support roller 136 abutting the stop horn 139 executes essentially the same movement as the innermost support roller 135 rolling over the triangular bar 138 and the slope 137.
- the end element 125 On its upper side, the end element 125 is designed such that it is flush with the upper surface of the rail support 123, so that when the second additional box element 118 is inserted into the main box element 116, the outer support roller 36 rolling on the upper surface of the end element 125 can roll up smoothly onto the upper surface of the rail support 123.
- an in this view is provided in the second side wall, the shape of which essentially corresponds to the first side wall 131 and which is connected to the latter via the molded cams 140 ⁇ , via spacer sleeves not shown in this view and via a base plate 142.
- a guide tube 143 for the coil spring 129 connects to the base plate 142.
- the helical spring 129 is inserted in the guide tube 143, the second end 130 thereof resting on the base plate 142.
- a stop washer 144 is slidably inserted into the guide tube 143.
- the stop disk 144 has a through hole 145 through which the threaded end of a cable thimble 146 is guided, two lock nuts 147 being provided on one end of the rope thimble 146 on the side of the stop disk 144 remote from the helical spring 129.
- a cable pull 148 which is guided through an elongated hole 149 in the base plate 142 via a guide roller 150 ⁇ articulated on the side wall 131 and which opens into an eye flap 151 with an eye hole 152.
- the eye flap 151 is connected to the rear end of the end element 125 by a bolt running through the eye hole 152 and not shown in this view.
- the length of the cable 148 is adjusted with the lock nuts 147 so that the coil spring 129, when the end element 125 is in the starting position corresponding to FIG. 13, is under a slight prestress.
- the deflection of the cable pull 148 on the guide roller 150 ⁇ ensures that the cable pull 148 in the area of the coil spring 129 is always substantially parallel to whose axis of symmetry extends so that both a frictional contact between the cable 148 and the base plate 142 in the slot 149 and a tilting of the stop disc 144 in the guide tube 143 is avoided.
- the link guide 126 is connected to the rail support 123 by means of screw connections, not shown in this view, through the side walls 131.
- screw connections not shown in this view
- the screw connections between the side walls 131 and the rail support 123 are released, whereupon the link guide 126 together with the guide tube 143 and the link guide 126 and in the guide tube 143 provided components can be pulled out of the rail support 123, in particular also in the inserted state of the additional box element 118 and the rail support 123 in the main box element 116.
- Figure 16 shows an enlarged view of another container 160 ⁇ according to the invention, which has a similar structure as the containers 1 and 115. It has a cuboid main box element 161 and two additional box elements, of which only the first additional box element 162 is shown in this view.
- the main box element 161 has a bottom wall (not shown), a top wall (not shown), end walls, of which only a front end wall 163 is shown here, and side walls, of which only the side wall 164 facing the first additional box element 162 can be seen in this view.
- the side wall 164 has an opening 165 for the first additional box element 162.
- the first additional box element 162 has a side wall 166, a bottom wall not shown in this view, a top wall 167 and two end walls, of which only the front end wall 168 can be seen here.
- the first additional box element 162 is extended from the main box element 161.
- a winch 171 is inserted at the lower end of the side wall 166 in a receptacle 170 ⁇ provided for this purpose.
- the winch 171 has a base plate 172, which connects to the receptacle 170 ⁇ and on which a winch gear 173 is attached.
- the winch gear 173 has a hand crank 174 on the input side and a belt roller 175 on the output side.
- a drawstring 176 is wound on the tape roll 175, the drawstring 176, which is provided at its free end with a draw hook 177, being unwound and pulled towards the main box element 161 in the illustration shown. There, the pull hook 177 engages in a hook receptacle 178 provided in the side wall 164, the pull band 176 being tightened in the illustration shown by turning the hand crank 174.
- a second winch not shown here and identical to the winch 171, is likewise attached to the edge between the side wall 166 and the rear end wall of the first additional box element 162.
- the two winches 171 are actuated simultaneously, as a result of which the drawstring 176 rolls up on the belt reel 175 and thus pulls the side wall 166 of the first additional box element towards the side wall 164 of the main box element 161.
- the pull hook 177 is unhooked from the hook receptacle 178 and the winch 171 is removed from the receptacle 170 ⁇ .
