Definitions

  • the invention relates to a safety binding for the boot holder when the heel can be lifted off, in which the boot is held in the binding on its front sole part by means of an arbitrarily operable tensioning device, the binding being made in two parts and a ski-fixed base part and one in the event of an overload from the base part Rotation relative to the base part releasable trigger part, which is held in the use position by a trigger mechanism on the base part.
  • Bindings of this type can be used for cross-country skiing, touring, skiing in line with the Telemark style that has become modern again and for jump skiing. With these ski disciplines it is necessary that the skier can lift the heel off the ski. While cross-country skis, for example, already have safety bindings, there are no safety bindings. The consequence of this is sometimes serious injuries when falling on the ski jump.
  • the boot is fixed to the upper binding part, which is designed as a plate, with a sole which is extended towards the front by means of a plug pin.
  • This upper binding part which is designed as a plate, extends into the vicinity of the heel of the boot and is pivotably mounted approximately in the middle by means of a ski-fixed pin, the plate having an elongated hole through which the pin extends without a head, so that the plate can be released from the ski together with the boot after the release process.
  • the plate is secured in the rear area by a tab overlapping it against lifting off and is supported at the front against a spring-loaded release bolt, which, because of the necessary holding device for the projecting sole is arranged very far in front of the shoe on the ski.
  • a major disadvantage is that the release part that can be released from the ski after rotation has to be designed as a relatively long plate and that the release mechanism, which comprises a spring-loaded pin, requires the release part to be supported laterally with a certain distance.
  • the lateral support is provided by the pivot pin on which the plate is rotatably mounted.
  • a major disadvantage is also that the release pin and the locking opening in the plate are very far in front of the boot, so that there are large differences in the release behavior, which depend on whether the boot rests on the ski or whether the heel is lifted off the boot.
  • a variant of the known binding described at the outset provides for a double arrangement of release parts, namely a further release system in the form of a shorter plate is provided on the release plate, both of which interact with spring-loaded detent balls.
  • This configuration not only results in a considerable weight load, but also an incomparably greater design effort because of the two trigger systems.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a safety binding for the sports mentioned at the outset, which is light in weight and has favorable triggering properties in different foot positions and is not susceptible to icing.
  • This configuration enables a compact, weight-saving safety binding, which is suitable for every ski, the use of which must ensure that the boot heel can be lifted off freely.
  • What is also important in this embodiment is the fact that not only is it possible to rotate the boot relative to the ski, but that the boot can also be completely detached from the ski after a certain angle of rotation, which is due to the arrangement of the cutouts in the guide flange. Since the guide jaw, together with the release part, is firmly attached to the boot by the tensioning device, the boot can easily be attached to the ski after a fall.
  • the release part engages over the base part and the guide rollers and since the release part also engages in the circumferential grooves of the guide rollers with flanges bent inwards and thus also overlaps the release mechanism, which is essentially arranged in the base part, there is a risk of icing and blocking of the safety binding practically excluded, especially since the rotatability of the trigger part with respect to the base part cannot be blocked by icing, because the flanges can be relatively thin and thus designed in the manner of a cutting edge, so that even in the event that snow should get under the trigger part, it can pass through the Guide flanges can be displaced during a rotary movement.
  • the guide rollers are supported by means of roller bearings, this ensures extremely smooth operation, by means of which the triggering process is not influenced.
  • control cams are preferably formed symmetrically to the longitudinal axis in the release cam and delimit a central latching recess for the release member. This results in a uniform triggering process in both directions of rotation, whereby there is none left and right bindings and the skis can be exchanged with each other.
  • the triggering member is designed as a control roller. As a result, there is no sliding friction on the control cams, but a rolling process.
  • the tensioning device comprises a U-shaped guide jaw for the sole of the boot, which base is fastened to the release part, on the legs of which are perpendicular to the ski surface, a tension shaft which can be rotated by means of a lever on both sides is rotatably mounted, which is flattened between the legs by a recess extending at least to the shaft center, the arcuate rounded part of which engages in the tensioned position in an adapted hollow trowel in the protruding sole of the boot.
  • the mounting of the boot sole in the guide jaw is improved according to a further embodiment of the invention in that the two legs are at least partially bent inwards at their free upper edges, the distance of the free edges from the base part of the guide jaw being essentially adapted to the thickness of the boot sole .
  • the front safety binding comprises a base part 1 which can be fastened on a ski (not shown), a release part 2 and a guide jaw 3 with a clamping device 4 fastened on the release part.
  • the base part 1 consists of a housing 5, in which a release mechanism is accommodated, which comprises a spring assembly consisting of a plurality of springs 6, which on the one hand against an adjustable by means of a screw 7 and not shown in the drawing and one not shown in the drawing Movable slide are supported, which carries a through a slot 8 of the housing 5 projecting control roller 9.
  • a release mechanism which comprises a spring assembly consisting of a plurality of springs 6, which on the one hand against an adjustable by means of a screw 7 and not shown in the drawing and one not shown in the drawing Movable slide are supported, which carries a through a slot 8 of the housing 5 projecting control roller 9.
  • On the housing 5 three guide rollers 10 are still freely rotatable, which are provided with circumferential grooves 11.
  • the leadership roles are with theirs Axes of rotation, not shown, are arranged on a circle at the same distance from one another and are used for the rotatable mounting of the trigger part 2.
  • the arrangement of the guide flanges 12 is such that the guide rollers 10 are in the middle of the respective guide flanges 12 in the use position.
  • a trigger cam 14 is fixedly connected to the trigger part 2 and has a central latching recess 15 at its free end and adjoining symmetrically designed control cams 16.
  • the control roller 9 engages in the locking recess 15. Due to their shape, the control cams 16 adjoining the latching recess 15 initially provide resistance to rotation of the trigger part 2. Since the control roller 9 lies in the latching recess 15 in the use position, the trigger part 2 can only be rotated if the control roller 9, which rolls on one of the control cams 16 during this rotary movement, is displaced in its slot 8 against the resistance of the springs 6.
  • the trigger hardness can be determined.
  • the guide jaw 3 provided on the release part 2 is essentially U-shaped and has a base 17 and two legs 18 and 19 standing vertically upwards, the free edges 20 and 21 of which are bent inwards and are at a distance from the base 17, which corresponds essentially to the thickness of the sole of the boot, so that after its insertion in the direction of the arrow 22 is held both in the lateral direction by the legs 18, 19 and upwards by the edges 20, 21. So that the boot cannot slide backwards, that is, against the direction of arrow 22, the tensioning device 4 is provided, which is designed as an angled two-armed lever 23, 24 and is pivotably mounted in the legs 18, 19 by means of a plug-in axis 25.
  • the tensioning device 4 When inserting the boot in the guide jaws, the tensioning device 4 is first pivoted so that the lever 23 points forwards and downwards, as a result of which a V-shaped, rearwardly open fitting 26 on the top of the boot sole 27 can slide under the short lever 24. After pivoting the clamping device 4 upwards, the lever 24 hooks onto the fitting 26.
  • FIGS. 3 to 6 show an embodiment of a tensioning device for fastening the boot in the safety binding which is modified compared to FIG. 1, this embodiment being regarded as the preferred embodiment.
  • the clamping device comprises a clamping shaft 60 which is rotatably supported on both sides in the legs 18 and 19 of the guide jaw 3 and is rotatable by means of a lever 61 which is arranged at one end of the clamping shaft 60.
  • the tensioning shaft has a recess which extends at least to the shaft center, as a result of which a segment-like flattened part 62 remains.
  • the front end of the boot sole has a flute-like recess 63 which extends over the entire sole width and is adapted in shape to the rounded part 64 of the tensioning shaft 60.
  • the lever is pivoted forward so that the flattened part 62, as can be seen in FIG. 10, points downward. This allows the tip of the boot to be pushed under the tension shaft. Thereafter, the lever 61 is pivoted and thus the tension shaft 60 is rotated and thereby engages in the groove 63, as can be seen from FIG. 5.
  • the final state is shown in Figure 6, wherein the lever 61 is pivoted completely backwards and the rounded part 64 of the tension shaft 60 engages in a form-fitting manner in the groove 63.
