Definitions

  • the invention relates to a hand-held device for transferring a film from a carrier film to a substrate, in which a supply spool and a take-up spool for the carrier film are accommodated in a housing consisting of at least two housing parts which can be opened and connected to each other on a pivot pin fixedly attached to the housing , wherein the two pivot pins are coupled to one another via a drive connection with a slip clutch which is effective in the direction of rotation, and the carrier film which can be unwound from the supply spool via an application element which projects obliquely from the housing and is provided for pressing the carrier film with its film side against the substrate and back from the latter guided into the housing on the take-up spool and the application element can be deflected under pressure towards the housing by a limited spring travel when used (see, for example, GB-A-1009607).
  • Such hand-held devices also as “hand rollers”, “adhesive rollers” or the like. to apply a film from a carrier film to a substrate are preferably used in the office area (for example, to transfer an adhesive film from a carrier film made of paper, for example, for locally adhering another paper or for gluing a sheet to other sheets or the like). This allows a very clean and precise location achieved by the user placing an adhesive layer.
  • These hand rollers are quickly stowed away when not in use and can be used immediately in case of use without problems with the undesired drying of an adhesive liquid or the like. exist.
  • the take-up spool (dispenser spool) for the carrier film and the supply spool are mounted in a two-part housing of the hand roller, in which the two housing parts are separated from one another in order to replace the two spools and then the two coils seated on pivot pins attached in one housing half can be removed or plugged on.
  • an application element which projects obliquely from the housing and is intended for pressing the carrier film against the substrate and is designed in the form of a lever which is pivotably mounted in the housing and is biased under the action of a spring into a starting position pushed away from the housing.
  • the carrier film arriving from the supply reel must be guided over the free end of this lever by the user when changing the reel and then deflected upwards again for winding onto the take-up reel into the housing.
  • the take-up reel and supply reel are coupled to one another via a drive connection provided with a slip clutch.
  • a relatively larger, round cross bolt is provided, via which the carrier film is deflected, the very large cross bolt at the end of this application element projecting laterally over the lever holding it to such an extent that when it is used against the preload spring, it can spring out in the direction of the housing (upwards) until the protruding part of the cross bolt hits the housing.
  • This known hand-held device has the disadvantage that when changing the bobbin, the two bobbins must be individually attached to the corresponding pivot bolts and, moreover, the tape guide of the carrier film between the two coils must be placed by the person inserting the projecting end protruding from the housing, which requires dexterity and at the same time is associated with the risk that the hands of the user and in particular the functional parts of the device (such as drive, clutch ) can be contaminated by the film on the carrier film, which can even cause malfunctions up to total failure in terms of device function.
  • the invention has for its object to improve the handheld device mentioned in such a way that the bobbin change noticeably accelerates manageability even for awkward persons and thereby the risk of undesirable soiling of the hands of the user and the functional parts of the device (drive, clutch, etc .) is avoided by the film on the carrier film.
  • this is achieved in a hand-held device of the type mentioned at the outset in that the supply spool and take-up spool are accommodated in an exchangeable cassette which can be inserted into the housing and which also carries the application element at one end and there a support attached to the housing with the cassette inserted - Centering pin comprehensive mounting receptacle is provided, and that a bracket is also provided to prevent rotation of the cassette around the support centering pin.
  • this "hand roller” enables an extremely quick and easy reel change, in that only the cassette contained in the housing is removed after opening the housing and a new cassette is inserted. All that is required is two easy steps, even by unskilled people, after opening the housing, namely to first remove the used one and then insert the new exchangeable cassette. Since the cassette contains the two spools and the application element, the tape guide from the supply spool to the application element to the take-up spool is already specified for the new cassette to be inserted and no one is required for this Threading or other handling on the carrier film. The presence of the support centering pin and a corresponding holder receptacle on the cassette to be inserted also ensures that the cassette is positively inserted in exactly the right position, so that no difficulties arise when changing the cassette.
  • the fact that the support centering pin, by means of which the cassette is supported relative to the housing and which essentially transmits the forces acting between the cassette and the housing, is arranged close to the extendable applicator element, is achieved by the user can be introduced into the cassette via the housing onto the applicator element, in order to press it against the pressing forces exerted on the substrate, directly via this support centering pin, close to the applicator element.
  • the effective lever arms and power transmission paths are very small, so that the torque then acting on the cassette (in the sense of a rotational movement around the support centering pin) is relatively low and is easily absorbed by the form-fitting securing device used according to the invention against such rotation becomes.
  • the support centering pin and the holder receptacle cooperating with it can be designed in such a way that both also simultaneously act as a form-fitting holder to prevent rotation, which can preferably be achieved via a suitable non-circularly symmetrical cross section of the centering pin and receiving opening of the holder receptacle comprising it .
  • a toothed fit between the two or a polygonal cross section of the pin and the receiving opening of the holder receiving it encompassing this are particularly suitable.
  • the support centering pin is designed with a circular cross-section and the holder, which prevents rotation of the cassette, is attached to the side wall of the cassette which is turned as far as possible from the holder receptacle when the housing part to be accommodated is inserted, transverse to the direction of a Twisting movement of the Cassette is formed around the elongated hole extending into the support centering pin, into which a support centering pin with a circular cross section protrudes from the receiving housing part.
  • the holder against rotation is arranged separately from the holder around the support centering pin and is effective, but this has the advantage that, on the one hand, easy-to-produce pins with a circular cross section can be used and the corresponding holder receptacles are accordingly also uncomplicated. on the other hand, due to the large distance between the holder and the support centering pin that is effective against the rotation, a very large lever arm occurs with the result that only small support forces occur.
  • the rotation-preventing holder is very particularly preferably arranged on the end region of the exchangeable cassette opposite the holder receptacle for the support centering pin.
  • a stop is attached to the holder receptacle for the support centering pin, against which (when the device is used) the spring-loaded application element comes into contact and is thus directly affected can rest on the bracket mount.
  • the pressing forces can thus be introduced very close to the actual pressing location between the application element and the substrate in the former with small deflection paths, i.e.
  • the support centering pin and / or the circular pin of the holder securing against rotation are conically beveled at their projecting ends, which makes insertion into the corresponding parts even easier Counter-shooting is achieved.
  • the supply reel and the take-up reel in the cassette are not mounted in a fixed position, but are "floating", i.e. they can be moved in their relative position to each other within the cassette in a limited, preferably small area, in such a way that their exact operating position only when the cassette is inserted by the insertion of the rotary bolts (which are fixedly attached to the receiving housing part) into the corresponding ones Plug-in openings of the coils is determined.
  • pivot pins are arranged stationary on the receiving housing part, it is desirable that because of the likewise fixed position of the support centering pin to avoid any constraints within the cassette, the assignment of the pivot pins on the one hand and the coil receiving openings on the other hand can take place without tension, i.e. certain relative movements required for adaptation are possible.
  • a backstop acting on the take-up reel is provided in the cassette, which, again preferred, is in the form of a spring lip formed in a side wall of the take-up, which engages in a toothed ring which is assigned to it at a corresponding point on the take-up reel , whereby it can be avoided that an unwanted unwinding movement of the take-up reel occurs.
  • the drive connection which has a slip clutch, is particularly preferably attached between the two pivot pins outside the cassette in the housing, since this is a mechanism which can remain in the housing even when the cassette is exchanged and, accordingly, is expediently not present within the exchangeable cassette, because it is then should also be replaced in each case.
  • This drive connection with the associated slip clutch is very particularly preferably attached in a cavity of the housing covered towards the cassette, which on its side facing the cassette e.g. with a cover plate or similar is covered, from which only the two pivot pins protrude towards the cassette. In this way, contamination of this gearbox, which is essential for the function, when the cassette is changed, can be significantly reduced and improved functionality can be maintained over a long period of time.
  • the design of the hand-held device according to the invention is very particularly preferably carried out in such a way that the housing consists of two housing parts, each containing a housing side surface, which, for inserting or removing a cassette, can be pivoted relative to one another at one end of the housing and connects the two pivot pins are and one of which forms the housing part accommodating the cassette, which has the two pivot bolts, the support centering pin and a support stop which prevents rotation of the cassette.
  • a device that can be opened quickly, is easy to handle, can be conveniently opened, and in which there is also no risk that (like the known device), when the two housing parts are separated, a housing part can be misplaced, since the two housing parts remain connected to each other via their pivot point even in the opened housing position.
  • a device is preferably provided with which both housing parts can be fixed in the position in which they form the housing in a closed form.
  • This device is particularly preferred as a releasable locking device trained, which is constructed so that it can be easily unlocked by the user for a cassette change, while it is able to engage automatically when the housing is closed, for example.
  • this device in the form of a pivotable folding lever which, in its folded position, locks the two housing parts in the closed housing position relative to one another.
  • This folding lever can also be pivoted about the same pivot point as the two housing parts, but is preferably provided so that when it is pivoted into the folded position, the two housing parts are automatically transferred to the closed housing position.
  • the cassette is particularly preferably provided with a device that blocks the tape guide of the carrier film and is only unlocked when the cassette is inserted into the housing, so that the tape guide of the carrier film actually only moves and the film can only be released when a cassette is inserted into the cassette Handheld device is inserted.
  • a suitable blocking device in particular the location at which the blocking is effective can also be selected differently.
  • the blocking device is very particularly preferably designed such that it locks the rotation of the supply reel and the take-up reel.
  • a further preferred embodiment of the hand roller according to the invention also consists in the fact that the application element is designed as an elongated support foot which enables elastic deflection by elastic bending.
  • the hand-held device according to the invention is easy to handle in operation, enables a particularly simple and very quick cassette change and also allows the application of greater contact forces between the application element and the substrate, since the arrangement selected according to the invention in particular transfers the force between the housing and Cassette to the application element favored because of the small force transmission paths, which also benefits the good functionality of the mechanism in the exchangeable cassette. This is particularly important when it is important to work with greater pressure forces when transferring the film from the carrier film to the substrate: the hand-held device according to the invention makes it possible to use the hand roller for those applications in which increased pressure forces are important.
  • the hand-held device according to the invention could also be used, for example, to transfer a cover film (cover film) from the carrier film to a substrate, for example in the form of a cover film, with which, for example, a font applied by a writing mechanism is to be covered on an existing sheet for correction purposes.
  • a cover film cover film
  • a substrate for example in the form of a cover film
  • typewriters cause local depressions along the letter configuration when they hit the paper, which result from the strong touch pressure on the paper, it is important when applying a cover film over such a surface that with increased pressure it is precisely these on the letters resulting recesses can be filled with the cover film, which is only possible by local pressure intensification.
  • the handheld device 1 shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 has a housing 2, which consists of two housing parts 2a and 2b, which can be pivoted relative to one another about a pivot pin 3 attached to one of their lateral ends.
  • the pivot pin 3 is designed so that it fastens the housing parts 2a and 2b to each other even in the opened state.
  • a holding lever 5 which can also be pivoted about the pivot point 3, but which is not articulated directly at its end to the pivot pin 3, but rather is held by a retaining web 6, which in turn is concentric about the pivot point 3 in a circular segment over a certain extent Circular arc extends and is then only connected to the pivot pin 3 via a radially extending connection (not shown in the figures).
  • the lever 5 is provided at its free end with two mutually parallel gripping surfaces 7 which protrude into corresponding bulges 8 in each of the two side parts 2a and 2b when the housing 2 is closed.
  • the user first grips the housing 2 with one hand and the two gripping surfaces 7 of the locking lever 5 with the other hand and then folds the locking lever 5 downward approximately into that shown in FIG. 2 and 3 position shown.
  • the two housing parts 2a and 2b are unlocked relative to one another in a suitable form, which makes it possible to unfold them in the manner shown in FIG. 2, as a result of which the exchangeable cassette 4 accommodated in one housing part 2a is freely accessible becomes.
  • the exchangeable cassette 4 carries at one end an obliquely projecting application element 16, which is provided at its free end with a reinforced application bar 17, around which the tape guide of the carrier tape 23 on which the film to be dispensed onto the substrate is located, led around from the supply reel 20 in the cassette 4 (cf. FIG. 4), then back into the cassette and fed there to the take-up reel 22 (cf. FIG. 4).
  • the housing 2 (or the housing parts 2a and 2b forming this) is broken at the corner at which the application element 16 protrudes when the cassette is inserted, so that when the cassette is inserted 4 the application element 16 projects with its application bar 17 obliquely from the housing 2.
  • This makes it possible that when the cassette 4 is inserted and the housing 2 is closed, the carrier film 23 is pressed against the substrate by pressure from the user from above onto the gripping surface 10 attached to the front of the housing 2 and the desired film transfer by moving the housing 2 relative to the substrate can be done.
  • the cassette 4 is inserted into the one housing part 2a, which in the corresponding area has a depression or receptacle corresponding to the thickness of the cassette.
  • the cassette 4 is covered in the inserted state by a rim 33 (see FIG.
  • a viewing window 9 is attached (see FIG. 2), to which a correspondingly arranged viewing window 9a in the other housing part 2b is assigned such that when the cassette is closed, as shown in FIG can be found on the supply reel 20 in the cassette 4 existing film supply.
  • the cassette 4 consists of two cassette side plates 4a and 4b (FIGS. 2 and 4 and 5), the representation according to FIG. 4 showing the cassette with the reels inserted, but with the front side plate 4a removed, and the representation according to FIG. 5 a view of the 4, but from the opposite viewing direction.
  • the supply spool 20 and the take-up spool 22 are accommodated in the cassette, the supply spool 20 being arranged between the application element 16 and the take-up spool 22.
  • the carrier film 23 with the film contained on its outside to be released onto the substrate is directed toward the reinforced (rigid) application bar 17 attached to the front end of the application element 16, around its curvature and then via an intermediate one Clamping lever 24 and the upper supply reel 20 are guided onto the take-up reel 22.
  • the contact of the carrier film 23 on the outer surface of the supply reel 20 before entering the take-up reel 22 is particularly appropriate in the event that the carrier strip 23 carries an adhesive film, because then by the unwinding movement of the supply reel 20 due to the adhesive film adhering to the underside of the the take-up reel 22 guided carrier tape 23 and thus an effective pull in the winding direction takes place.
  • the application element 16 is, as shown in FIG. 4, in the form of a thin support leg designed as a toggle lever, which can consist of an elastically resilient material, such as a suitable plastic or spring steel.
  • a rigid, substantially thicker application bar 17 is placed, which is provided with a cam 18 on its upper side facing the housing 2 in the rebound direction.
  • This cam 18 is assigned a stop 19 which is fixed in position on the cassette housing and which is formed on a mounting receptacle 12, preferably in one piece, which is in the form of a support tube extending transversely between the two side parts 4a and 4b of the cassette.
  • This support tube 12 has on its inside a receiving opening 12a projecting through the plates 4a and 4b of the cassette 4, into which a support centering pin 11 protruding from the housing part 2a at this point protrudes when the cassette 4 is inserted into the housing part 2a (cf. 3) is inserted appropriately. As a result, the cassette is fixed in position opposite it when it is inserted into the housing part 2a.
  • an elongated hole 14 is also formed in the side plate 4b of the cassette 4 facing the receiving housing part 2a at a relatively large distance from the receiving opening 12a, into which a pin 13, which also projects from the receiving housing parts 2a and is circular in cross section protrudes, which, when using the device, supports the tilting moment which acts on the cassette 4 in the direction of pivoting around the support centering pin 11.
  • the position of the elongated hole 14 is chosen so that its longitudinal extension extends transversely to the direction of movement of the rotary movement occurring around the bolt 11 at this point.
  • “Lateral” in this sense does not mean that a right angle must be present (it can be chosen); the transverse position only has to ensure that the elongated hole arrangement does not permit any undesired pivoting movement. It is desirable to arrange the elongated hole 14 as far as possible from the support centering pin 11 in order to keep the restoring forces against the torque acting on the cassette 4 around the pivot pin 14 as small as possible.
  • the cassette 4 can be closed along its circumference between the two side plates 4a and 4b (with the exception of the opening at the front, on which the application element 16 projects with the application bar 17), but such a closed configuration is not absolutely necessary.
  • the two side walls 4a and 4b of the cassette 4 are held to one another only via holding webs 15 running transversely between them (and of course also additionally by the likewise transverse body of the mounting receptacle 12).
  • the holder receptacle 12 with the stop 19 attached to it is mounted in the immediate vicinity of the foot of the application element 16, so that when it springs out, only a small deflection path between the projection 18 attached to the rigid application bar 17 and the counter-stop 19 is possible.
  • the projection 18, which comes to rest against the stop 19 when rebounding, is attached as close as possible to the rounded front edge (pressing edge) of the application bar 17 in order to keep the pressing forces applied by the user when using the device as close as possible to the pressing edge in the application bar 17 initiate and thereby to obtain only relatively small effective lever arms on the application element 16 or the application bar 17.
  • the holder receptacle 12 and the stop 19 formed on it are made as rigid as possible, so that the pressure forces of the user introduced into the holder receptacle 12 from the housing 2 via the centering pin 11 can be passed on to the pressing tip of the application bar 17 easily and quickly. In this way, relatively large compressive forces can be transmitted without requiring a particularly large dimensioning of the application element 16 or the rigid application bar 17.
  • the application element 16 opens at its housing-side foot end into a solid part 34, which is twist and positionally fixed between the solid part 34, which is arranged rotationally and positionally fixed between the side walls 4a, 4b of the cassette 4 or is rigidly fastened thereto; in its remaining area, the application element 16 can elastically spring out relative to the side walls 4a, 4b of the cassette 4 in the direction of the stop 19.
  • the take-up spool 22 is provided at its end facing the housing part 2a with a toothing 30 (FIG. 6) into which a spring lip 29 formed in the side wall 4b of the cassette 4 engages.
  • the engagement end of the spring lip 29 is chamfered (Fig. 6) that only a rotation of the take-up spool 22 in the winding direction (with elastic elasticity of the spring lip 29) is possible, while blocking is triggered in an opposite direction of rotation.
  • a circular corrugation 32 which projects through a corresponding opening in the side plate 4a of the cassette 4 and thus gives the user the option of manually effecting a take-up movement of the take-up spool 22 from the outside, if desired.
  • the pivot pins 25 are connected to one another in terms of drive by a toothing 27 and 28, which is preferably covered in the direction of the cassette by a suitable cover plate.
  • a slip clutch integrated into the toothing, which is able to compensate for the speed difference that occurs between the speeds of the take-up spool 22 and the supply spool 20 when the carrier film 23 is wound up (for a better overview, the drawing of the slip clutch is shown in FIG. 3) half waived).
  • the pivot pins 25 and 26 are designed in the form of driver pins which come into contact with corresponding counter-receptacles (for example 31 in FIG. 5) attached in the receiving opening of the two coils 20, 22 , without an exact fit between the pivot pin and the receiving opening of the coil in question would be required.
  • This ensures that even with a small relative offset between the center of the pivot pin 25 or 26 on the one hand and the receiving opening of the associated coil 20 or 22 on the other hand, a functional drive connection is still ensured. This is important if, as shown in the figures, the position of the reels 20 and 22 within the cassette 4 is fixed, in order to avoid that constraints due to the position fixing by the fixing bolt 11 could occur.
  • a locking device (not shown in the figures) is also attached to the cassette, which makes it possible, e.g. to block a rotational movement of the take-up reel 20 when the cassette 4 is not inserted into the housing 2. This could e.g.

  • the cassette itself is preferably made of a suitable plastic, whereby it can be designed both as a disposable cassette and as a replacement cassette that can be filled with new reels.
  • the two side parts 4a, 4b can be opened after the cassette has been replaced, so that the cassette is in the form shown in FIG. 4, after which the bobbins are then removed by hand and replaced by new bobbins. then the cassette is reassembled and is then ready in a form suitable for reuse in a hand roller.
  • the closed housing 2 (in which, for example, a cassette is not yet contained) is brought into the open position shown in FIG. 3 by unfolding the locking lever 5 and then pivoting the two housing parts 2a, 2b open.
  • the user then inserts an exchangeable cassette 4 into the housing part 2a in the manner shown and described, then the housing parts 2a and 2b are placed one on top of the other and clamped against one another by closing the locking lever 5.
  • the device which is now ready for use is placed with the application element 16 protruding from the housing 2 or the application bar 17 when in use against the substrate to which the film contained on the carrier tape 23 in the cassette 4 is to be transferred, then the application element 16 by pressure until the projection 18 bears against the stop 19 and then the film is applied to the substrate by moving the device relative to the substrate, the carrier film 23 being unwound from the supply reel 20 and wound onto the take-up reel 22.
  • the device is removed from the substrate, as a result of which the application element 16 springs back into its starting position.
  • the housing 2 of the hand-held device 1 is opened again in the same way, as described above, reaching a state as shown in FIG. 2.
  • the inserted cassette 4 is removed, the desired new cassette is inserted and the device is then closed again in the form already described, after which it is ready for a new use.
