Abstract

A hand-operated device for transferring a film from a carrier tape to a substrate has a housing made up of two parts connected by a swivelable linkage. The housing has two rotatable pivot pins coupled to each other by a clutch coupling. A cartridge is held in position in this housing by a suitable arrangement of pins and receptacles. This cartridge has, conrotatably linkable to the pivot pins, a feed reel and a wind-up reel for the tape, and has an applicator element at one end over which the tape runs and which is used to press the tape against the substrate for transfer of the film.

Description

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Handgerät zum Übertragen eines Filmes von einer Trägerfolie auf ein Substrat, bei dem in einem aus mindestens zwei aufmachbar miteinander verbundenen Gehäuseteilen bestehenden Gehäuse jeweils auf einem am Gehäuse lagefest angebrachten Drehbolzen aufgesteckt eine Vorratsspule und eine Aufwickelspule für die Trägerfolie aufgenommen sind, wobei die beiden Drehbolzen über eine Antriebsverbindung mit einer in Drehrichtung wirksamen Rutschkupplung miteinander gekoppelt sind und die von der Vorratsspule abwickelbare Trägerfolie über ein aus dem Gehäuse schräg vorragendes, zum Andrücken der Trägerfolie mit deren Film-Seite gegen das Substrat vorgesehenes Auftragelement und von diesem zurück in das Gehäuse auf die Aufwickelspule geführt und das Auftragelement bei Benutzung unter Druck in Richtung auf das Gehäuse hin um einen begrenzten Federweg ausfederbar ist (siehe z.B. Die von der Vorratsspule ankommende Trägerfolie muß beim Spulenwechsel vom Benutzer über das freie Ende dieses Hebels geführt und anschließend nach oben hin wieder zum Aufwickeln auf die Aufwickelspule in das Gehäuse umgelenkt werden. Dabei werden Aufwickelspule und Vorratsspule über eine mit einer Rutschkupplung versehene Antriebsverbindung miteinander verkoppelt. Die dabei wirksamen Hebelarme und Kraftübertragungswege sind sehr klein, so daß auch das auf die Kassette dann wirksame Drehmoment (im Sinne einer Rotationsbewegung um den Stütz-Zentrierstift herum) verhältnismäßig gering ist und durch die erfindungsgemäß eingesetzte formschlüssig sichernde zusätzliche Halterung gegen eine solche Verdrehung unschwer aufgefangen wird. Bevorzugt können hierbei der Stütz-Zentrierstift und die mit ihm zusammenwirkende Halterungsaufnahme so ausgebildet sein, daß beide gleichzeitig auch noch als formschlüssig gegen Verdrehung sichernde Halterung wirken, was bevorzugt über einen geeigneten nicht-kreissymmetrischen Querschnitt von Zentrierstift und Aufnahmeöffnung der ihn umfassenden Halterungsaufnahme erreicht werden kann. Für diesen Zweck ist z.B. ein Verzahnungssitz zwischen beiden oder ein polygonaler Querschnitt des Stiftes und der ihn umfassenden Aufnahmeöffnung der Halterungsaufnahme besonders geeignet. A manual device (1) for transferring a film from a backing foil (23) on to a substrate, a supply reel (20) and a take-up reel (22) for the backing foil (23) being mounted on respective pivot pins (25, 26) non-movably disposed in a casing (2) made up of at least two parts (2a, 2b) connected to one another so that they can be opened, the two pivot pins (25, 26) being interconnected by a drive connection (27, 28) and a slipping clutch operative in the direction of rotation and the backing foil (23), which can be wound off the supply reel (20), is guided by an applicator element (16, 17) projecting obliquely from the casing (2) and adapted to press the film side of the backing foil (23) against the substrate, and is guided by the applicator element back to the casing (2) and on to the take-up reel (22), and during use the applicator element (16, 17) is stretchable under pressure by a limited spring travel in the direction towards the casing (2), characterised in that the supply reel (20) and the take-up reel (22) are received in an interchangeable cassette (4) insertable into the casing (2) and also bearing the applicator element (16, 17) at one end thereof, and at the same end region the cassette has a retaining recess (12) which, when the cassette (4) is inserted, surrounds a supporting and centring pin (11) secured to the casing (2), and a holder (13, 14) is provided and positively prevents rotation of the cassette (4) around the supporting and centring pin (11).
  2. A manual device according to claim 1, characterised in that an abutment (19) is secured to the retaining recess (12) in order to abut the applicator element (16) which stretches under pressure, at the end of the stretching travel thereof.
  3. A manual device according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the supporting and centring pin (11) and the associated retaining recess (12) are also constructed as a holder which positively prevents twisting.
  4. A manual device according to claim 3, characterised in that the supporting centring pin (11) and the receiving opening (12a) of the associated holding process (12) have a non-circular symmetrical cross-section.
  5. A manual device according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the supporting and centring pin (11) has a circular cross-section and the holder which prevents twisting comprises a slot formed at a distance from the retaining recess (12) on the side wall (4b) of the cassette (4) which on insertion faces the receiving casing part (2a), the slot extending transversely to the direction of twisting of the cassette (4), and a pin (13) of circular cross-section projects from the receiving casing port (2a) and into the slot.
  6. A manual device according to claim 5, characterised in that the supporting and centring pin (11) is given a conical slope at its projecting end.
  7. A manual device according to any of claims 1, 2, 5 or 6, characterised in that the holder (13, 14) preventing twisting is provided at the end region of the cassette (4) opposite the holding recess (12).
  8. A manual device according to any of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the supply reel (20) and the take-up reel (22) are mounted in floating manner in the cassette (4) so that their exact operating position is fixed only when the cassette (4) is inserted and the pivot pins (25, 26) secured to the casing (2) are inserted into the insertion openings of the reels (20, 22).
  9. A manual device according to any of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that a back stop (29, 30) acting on the take-up reel (22) is provided in the cassette (4).
  10. A manual device according to claim 9, characterised in that the back stop is in the form of a spring lip (29) in a side wall (4b) of the cassette (4) and engaging in an associated toothed rim (30) on the take-up reel (22).
  11. A manual device according to any of claims 1 to 10, characterised in that the drive device (27, 28), which comprises a slipping clutch, is disposed in the casing outside the cassette (4) and between the two pivot pins (25, 26).
  12. A manual device according to claim 11, characterised in that the drive device (27, 26) and the slipping clutch are disposed in a cavity in the casing (2a) which is partitioned off from the cassette (4).
  13. A manual device according to any of claims 1 to 12, characterised in that the casing (2) is made up of two parts (2a, 2b) each containing a side surface of the casing and pivotable relative to one another around a centre of rotation (3) at one end of the casing in order to insert or remove a cassette (4), one part being the part (2a) which receives the cassette (4) and bears the two pivot pins (25, 26), the supporting and centring pin (11) and a supporting abutment (13) which prevents the cassette (4) from twisting.
  14. A manual device according to claim 13, characterised in that a means (5, 6) is provided for securing the two casing parts (2a, 2b) in position relative to one another when the casing (2) is closed.
  15. A manual device according to claim 14, characterised in that the means is a releasable locking means.
  16. A manual device according to claim 14, characterised in that the means is in the form of a pivotable folding lever (5, 6) which, when folded inwards, locks the two casing parts (2a, 2b) relative to one another and in the closed position of the casing.
  17. A manual device according to any of claims 1 to 16, characterised in that the cassette (4) contains a means which locks the guide of the backing foil (23) and is unlocked only when the cassette (4) is inserted in the casing (2).
  18. A manual device according to claim 17, characterised in that the locking means locks the supply reel (20) and the take-up reel (22).
  19. A manual device according to any of claims 1 to 18, characterised in that the applicator element is in the form of a thin elongate resiliently stretchable supporting foot (16).
