Description
- Es wurde gefunden, daß man indigoide Farbstoffe erhält, wenn man 3-Oxythionaphthene
der allgemeinen Formel
CO
CHo
worin χ Halogen und y Alkyl bedeutet, entweder oxydiert oder sie bzw. ihre reaktionsfähigen
2-Derivate mit zur Herstellung indigoider Farbstoffe geeigneten Komponenten kondensiert und gegebenenfalls die erhaltenen
Farbstoffe halogeniert.
3-Oxythionaphthene dieser 'allgemeinen Formel bzw. reaktionsfähige 2-Derivate dieser
Oxythionaphthene sind beispielsweise das 4 · o-Dimethyl-S-chlor^-brom^-oxythionaphthen,
das 4 · 6-Dimethyl-S · 7-dichlor~3-oxythipnaphthen,
das 4 · 6 - Dimethyl - S - brom 7-chlor-3-oxythionaphthen,
das 4-6-Dimethyl-5 · 7-dibrom-3-oxythionaphthen, die 4 · 6-Dimethyl-5
· 7-dichlor-3-oxythionaphthen-2-carbonsäure, das 2-(p-Dimethylamino)-anil des
4 · 6 - Dimethyl -5-7- dichlor - 3 - oxythionaph thens, das 4 · 6-Dimethyl-S · 7-dichlorthionaphthenchinon
und das 4 · 6-Dimethyl-5 · 7-dichlor-3-oxythionaphthen-2-dibromid.
Zur Herstellung indigoider Farbstoffe geeignete Komponenten sind beispielsweise:
Phenole, Naphthole, Oxyanthracene sowie fiinfgliedrige kondensierte Ringsysteme, wie
Isatine, Naphthisatine, Indoxyle, Thionaphthenchinone, Oxythionaphthene, Acenaphthenchinone.
Die neuen Farbstoffe eignen sich insbesondere zum Färben und Bedrucken der pflanzliehen
Faser, wie z.B. Baumwolle, und können sich durch große Ausgiebigkeit und sehr gute Echtheitseigenschaften auszeichnen; sie
können nach bekannten Methoden in Leukoestersalze übergeführt werden.
Die gekennzeichneten 3-Oxythionaphthene bzw. ihre reaktionsfähigen 2-Derivate können
nach verschiedenen Methoden hergestellt werden. So gelangt man beispielsweise in folgender
Weise zum 4 ■ 6-Dimethyl-5 · 7-dichlor-3-oxythionaphthen:
Aus der i-Amino-2 · 4-dimethyl-6-benzolsulfonsäure
wird durch Diazotieren, Umsetzen der Diazoverbindung mit Kupferchlorür
die i-Chlor-2 · 4-dimethyl-6-benzolsulfonsäure erhalten, die durch Einwirkung
von Phosphorpentachlorid in das im Vakuum unter 6 mm Druck bei 160 bis 161 ° siedende,
■bei 6i bis 62° schmelzende i-Chlor-2 · 4-dimethyl-6-benzolsulfochlorid
übergeht. Das Sulfochlorid wird hierauf reduziert und das
aus dem Reaktionsgemisch isolierte, rohe
• S i-Chlor-s^-dimethyl-ö-mercaptobenzol durch
Destillation unter vermindertem Druck (Siedepunkt 109 bis iio° bei 7 mm) als wasserhelles,
stark lichtbrechendes öl erhalten. Dieses Produkt kondensiert man in schwach
alkalischer Lösung mit Chloressigsäure. Die erhaltene i-Chlor-2 · 4-dimethyl-6-phenylthioglykolsäure
kristallisiert aus verdünntem Alkohol in farblosen Nadeln vom Schmelzpunkt 117°. Durch Behandeln dieser Thioglykolsäure
in beispielsweise Chlorbenzol mit Sulfurylchlorid erhält man die 1 · 3-Dichlor-2
· ^dimethyl-ö-phenylthioglykolsäure, die aus
Chlorbenzol in farblosen. Nadeln vom Schmelzpunkt 155° kristallisiert. Aus dieser Thioglykolsäure
entsteht durch Behandeln mit Phosphortrichlorid und Aluminiumchlorid das aus Eisessig in farblosen Nadeln kristallisierende
4 · 6-Dimet'hyl-5 · 7-dichlor-3-oxythionaphthen vom Schmelzpunkt 2240.
Aus den 3-Oxythionaphthenen der angeführten
allgemeinen Formel lassen sich die reaktionsfähigen 2-Derivate, wie z.B. die 2-Anile,
2-Oxime, 2-Halogenide, in bekannter Weise
durch Einwirkung von Nitrosoverbindungen, salpetriger Säure oder Halogenen erhalten,
während aus den 2-Anilen durch Behandlung mit warmer, konzentrierter Schwefelsäure die
4 · 6-Dialkyl-5 · 7-dihalogenthionaphthenchinone
entstehen.

247 Teile 4 · 6-Dimethyl-5 · 7-dichlor-3~oxythionaphthen
werden in 1000 Teilen X2aloiger
Natronlauge unter Zusatz von etwas Alkohol in der Wärme gelöst; diese Lösung1 wird hierauf
unter schwachem Sieden portionenweise mit der zur Oxydation erforderlichen Menge
einer gemahlenen, wäßrigen Suspension von Schwefel versetzt. Nach kurzem Sieden ist
die Farbstoffbildung beendigt. Hierauf wird abfiltriert, der Farbstoff gewaschen und getrocknet.
Er stellt ein rotes Pulver dar und löst sich in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure mit
grüner Farbe. Aus blaßgelb gefärbter Küpe
wird Baumwolle in blauroten Tönen gefärbt.
247 Teile 4 · 6-Dimethyl-5 · 7-dichlor~3-oxythionaphthen
und. 282 Teile 2-(p-Dimethylamino)-anil des 3-Oxythionaphthiens werden
"in 4000 Teilen Alkohol zum Sieden erhitzt. Nach beendeter Kondensation wird der Farbstoff
abfiltriert, gewaschen und'getrocknet. Er stellt ein leuchtend blaustichigrotes Pulver
dar, das sich in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure mit grüner Farbe löst. Der Farbstoff bildet
eine gelbe Küpe und färbt Baumwolle in vollen, reinen Rosatönen von sehr guter Echtheit.
Zu demselben Farbstoff gelangt man, wenn man das 2-(p-Dimethylamino)-anil des 4-6-Diniethyl-5
· 7-dichlor-3-oxythionaphthens mit Ox)rthionaphthen kondensiert.
247 Teile 4 · 6-Dimethyl-s · 7-dichlor-3-oxythionaphthen
werden in 2000 Teilen Chlorbenzol gelöst und bei 700 mit einer aus 305 Teilen 5 · 7-Dibromisatin und 250 Teilen
Phosphorpentachlorid in Chlorbenzol in bekannter Weise dargestellten 5'7-Dibromisatinchloridlösung
versetzt. Nach kurzem Rühren ist die Kondensation beendigt. Nach dem Filtrieren, Waschen und Trocknen erhält
man den Farbstoff als dunkelviolettes Pulver, das sich in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure mit
grüner Farbe.löst und Baumwolle aus gelber Küpe in vollen, reinen, blauvioletten Tönen
anfärbt.
Wird in diesem Beispiel das 5 · 7-Dibromisatin durch 216 Teile 5 · 7-Dichlorisatin
ersetzt, so erhält man einen Farbstoff mit ähnlichen Eigenschaften.
Verwendet man statt des 5 · 7-Dibromisatins 247 Teile 4-Methyl-5-chlor-7-methoxyisatin,
so erhält man einen Farbstoff, der Baumwolle in reinen blauen, sehr echten Tönen färbt.
421 Teile des Farbstoffs, der erhalten wird durch Kondensation von 247 Teilen 4 · 6-Dimethyl-5

Dimethyl - 3. - oxythionaphthens, werden in 4000 Teilen konzentrierter Schwefelsäure, der
144 Teile Brom zugegeben worden sind, eingetragen. ' Nach iostündigem Rühren bei gewohnlicher
Temperatur wird innerhalb 10 Stunden auf 30° erwärmt. Hierauf wird
in Wasser ausgetragen, der ausgefallene Farbstoff abfiltriert, mit Wasser gewaschen und
getrocknet. Er stellt ein violettrotes Pulver dar, das sich in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure
mit grüner Farbe löst und Baumwolle aus gelb gefärbter Küpe in echten violettroten
Tönen färbt.
