Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un método y sistema para transportar materiales. El método propuesto comprende proporcionar un flujo de gas recirculante desde 50 a 1000 ft3/min del cual pasa a través de un campo de radiación que tiene una intensidad superior a los niveles de fondo. Posteriormente, suministrar un material a través de una entrada en el flujo de gas recirculante. Finalmente, retirar el material en una salida del flujo de gas recirculante. Por su parte, el sistema para transportar un material comprende un circuito cerrado de gas recirculante con una entrada para un material y una salida para el material, con una trayectoria de flujo de materiales dispuesta en el circuito recircukante para transportar el material entre la entrada y la salida. Además, el sistema posee una fuente de radiación capaz de generar un campo de radiación que tiene un nivel de intensidad superior al nivel de fondo, en donde al menos una porción del material está dispuesta en el campo de radiación. Los materiales transportados en la presente invención son materias primas de biomasa (por ejemplo, biomasa vegetal, biomasa animal y biomasa de desechos municipales) para producir productos útiles, como combustibles.
