如图2所示,后视组件10还可以包括前屏蔽件14和后屏蔽件16,其一起用于屏蔽射频(RF)电磁辐射并为玻璃元件12和显示模块18提供支撑。前屏蔽件14和后屏蔽件16由一种或多种适于阻挡RF辐射的材料形成,材料包括但不限于钢。显示模块18设置在前屏蔽件14的后面,通过前屏蔽件14中的开口可以看到显示器22。下面参考图3描述显示模块18的部件。
显示器22可以是基本平面的,其中外边缘50限定了前表面78。显示器22的前表面78可以被成形为对应于后视组件10的观察区域的形状并配合在后视组件10的观察区域的形状内。作为另外一种选择,显示器22可以具有前表面78,该前表面78配合在观察区域内,但不与观察区域互补,例如在显示器22的前表面78为大致矩形并且玻璃元件12的前表面具有轮廓外周边46的情况下。显示器22的外边缘50和玻璃元件12的外周边46之间的距离沿着外边缘50的至少一部分为约9mm或更小。在一个实施例中,显示器22具有可见的前表面78区域,其为玻璃元件12的观察区域的约56%至约70%。
眩光传感器102可以设置在通过玻璃元件12接收光并且不在显示器22后面的位置中。眩光传感器102接收来自尾随车辆的头灯的光,并且测量关于玻璃元件12上可能的可见眩光的信息,并将该信息传达到后视组件10,使得后视组件10可被优化以允许通过玻璃元件12进行显示器22的观察。眩光传感器102还可以至少部分地封装在后视组件10的壳体30内,并且具有被配置为将光传播到眩光传感器102的光导。眩光传感器102还可以是车辆的后部上的成像器,其中表示所接收的光的信号从眩光传感器102传送到后视组件10。
图1A、1B和2所示的后视组件的另外的细节公开于Ethan Lee等人的2014年12月15日提交的名称为“DISPLAY MIRROR ASSEMBLY”的美国申请号14/494,909中,其全部公开内容通过引用并入本文。
图3示意性地示出了显示模块18的实施例。如图所示,为LED光引擎110形式的光源设置有出射孔,光从该出射(exit)孔从LED光引擎110射出。LED光引擎110可以是直接背光或边缘照明构造。联接到LED光引擎110的出射孔的是定位成接收来自LED光引擎110的光的第一BEF112。第一BEF 112具有沿第一方向延伸的多个棱镜元件。扩散器114被定位成接收来自第一BEF 112的光并将光朝向第二BEF 116扩散。第二BEF116被定位成接收离开扩散器114的光,并且被设置成具有沿第二方向延伸的多个棱镜元件。第二方向可以基本上垂直于第一方向。显示器22设置成接收来自第二BEF 116的光。在一些实施例中,多个棱镜元件的第一方向相对于后视组件10是基本竖直的,并且棱镜元件的第二方向相对于后视组件10是基本水平的。在其它实施例中,相对于后视组件10,第一方向是基本水平的,并且第二方向是基本竖直的。
在所描绘的实施例中,扩散器114具有大于约93%的光透射率,更具体地具有约97%至约98%之间的光透射率。扩散器114可以具有约115微米的厚度,其中约100微米的厚度是基膜,约15微米的厚度是扩散膜。扩散器的总体厚度可以变化高达约15微米。基膜可以包括聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯基层和用作防静电表面的背涂层。扩散器114可具有约80%至90%之间的雾度。雾度是当光通过扩散膜时其广角散射的测量值。在一些实施方案中,雾度为约84%,而在其它实施方案中为约89.5%。根据一个示例,扩散器114可以是可从KimotoTM公司获得的扩散膜。
根据一个示例,第一和第二BEF 112和116可以各自为可从3M公司获得的90-50BEF,并且显示器22可以是面内切换型(IPS型)LCD。LED光引擎110可以采用各种形式,诸如直接LED光引擎,例如在以下文献中所公开的:Frederick T.Bauer等人的2008年8月18日提交的名称为“VEHICLE REARVIEW ASSEMBLY INCLUDING A DISPLAY FOR DISPLAYINGVIDEO CAPTURED BY A CAMERA AND USER INSTRUCTIONS”的美国专利申请公开号2009/0096937 A1,其全部内容通过引用并入本文,或者边缘照明LED光引擎,诸如在以下文献中所公开的:Andrew Weller等人的2012年5月29日提交的名称为“SEGMENTED EDGE-LITBACKLIGHT ASSEMBLY FOR A DISPLAY”的美国专利申请公开号2013/0321496 A1,其全部内容通过引用并入本文。
可以通过在显示器的前表面上设置防眩偏振器,例如日东电工AGT1防眩光偏振器,来减少交叉影线。这种防眩光偏振器进一步减少了交叉影线,而不会降低显示器22的强度。
当后视组件10在车辆内使用时,通常由车辆的驾驶员以约+15°至约+25°或约-15°至约-25°之间的角度观察。车辆的前乘客座椅的乘客通常以约+40°至约+50°角度或约-40°至约-50°角度观察组件10。正角度指示表示沿着0°水平轴的视角,而负角度指示表示沿180°水平轴的视角。这些角度可以基于后视组件10的长度和定位而增大和减小。车辆的其它乘客可以以约-25°至-40°和约+25°至约+40°之间的角度观察显示器。通常,车辆的乘客以相对于后视组件10的基本水平的角度观察后视组件10,其中在竖直视角中仅具有约1°至约6°的变化,更具体地为约3°。在一些情况下,有利的是,车辆的所有乘客都可以看到由后视组件10显示的具有可能的最大亮度的信息(例如,数字罗盘、安全带指示器、天气数据)。
后视组件10的亮度相对于其观察角度而变化。由于后视组件10的几何形状和与前座乘客的接近度,显示器22的不同部分可以由同一乘客以不同的角度同时观察。例如,驾驶员可以以大约-15°的角度观察组件10的驾驶员侧部分,并且可以以大约-25°的角度观察组件10的乘客侧部分。整个角度上的亮度变化可能导致后视组件10的一部分看起来比另一部分更暗,或者可以为一个乘员提供比另一个乘员更低的亮度。此外,使用具有沿不同方向取向的棱镜元件的BEF可以导致光消除区域。光消除区域被观察者感知为显示器22的局部亮度低于周围显示器22的暗点。此外,光通常从现有技术的显示器以不太可能被车辆的乘客看到的角度发射,因此发射的光被无效地使用。因此,有利的是产生显示模块18,该显示模块18有效地利用光并且以在可能的可见角度范围内不产生暗点的方式利用光。
实验结果
参考图4A-4D,示出了描绘从后视镜组件10中使用的几种显示器构造获得的亮度值的实验结果的极坐标图。图4A-C描绘显示模块的现有技术构造的亮度值,其中扩散器分别放置在两个BEF的后面或前面。此外,现有技术的显示器的第一和第二BEF的棱镜元件的顺序与本发明不同。此外,现有技术实施例的扩散器具有比本发明的扩散器114更低的光透射率(例如,约75%)。通常,现有技术的构造导致总体亮度较低,随着角度变化的亮度的变化不太均匀,和/或沿着后视组件10的水平轴的暗点。
在图4A中示出了用于后视组件10的显示模块的现有技术构造的亮度的极坐标图。显示模块按照从后到前的顺序包括光源、扩散器、第一BEF和第二BEF。扩散器具有约75%的光透射率。在该特定构造中,第一BEF具有多个竖直棱镜元件,而第二BEF具有多个水平棱镜元件。从极坐标图可以看出,关于值的总体尺度,亮度在可能的视角之间在极坐标图的水平轴上经历了很大的变化。事实上,沿着图的水平轴,在+10°至约+50°和约-10°至约-50°之间的亮度变化为约853cd/m2至约229cd/m2。这导致亮度在可能的视角上降低大约624cd/m2,或者降低约60%。另外,在+40°至+50°视角之间可以看到亮度降低然后增加。除了观察者感觉到整个后视组件10的亮度的整体偏移之外,这还将导致观察者感觉到的暗点。在-30°至-50°视角之间,沿着水平轴线,看到类似的效果。
在图4B中示出了显示模块的另一现有技术实施例的亮度的极坐标图,该显示模块按照从后向前的顺序具有光源、第一BEF、第二BEF和扩散器。扩散器具有约75%的光透射率。在该特定构造中,第一BEF具有多个水平棱镜元件,而第二BEF具有多个竖直棱镜元件。虽然BEF和扩散器的重新排序消除了图4A中所见的暗点,但是来自光源的光仍然分布到不容易被车辆的乘客感知的竖直视角中。例如,对于乘客来说,为了沿着90度轴观察40°视角,驾驶员的头部将需要抵靠车辆的顶蓬或接近车辆的地板,这两者都不太可能是观察位置。因此,由于光以乘客不太可能观察的角度离开显示器,因此组件是低效的,这是因为它可以将该光引向沿着水平轴的可能的视角,从而增加乘员感知的亮度。
参考图4C,描绘了显示模块的另一现有技术实施例的亮度的极坐标图,该显示模块按照从后到前的顺序具有光源、扩散器、第一BEF、第二BEF和极化扩散器。在该特定构造中,第一BEF具有多个竖直棱镜元件,而第二BEF具有多个水平棱镜元件。扩散器具有约75%的光透射率。极化扩散器包括偏振层和扩散层。极化扩散器具有约0.2毫米至约1.0毫米之间的厚度,导致相对于其它现有技术的显示模块实施例,显示模块的厚度总体上增加。此外,由于使用两个扩散器(其中一个扩散器具有另外的偏振层),峰值亮度值已经降低到约1067cd/m2。如在图4C中可以看出的,可能的视角上的亮度经历大的减小,这将被显示模块的观察者感知。
现在参见图4D,其中描绘了包括上述显示模块18的实施例的后视组件10的亮度的极坐标图。在产生所示实施例的背光组件的实施例中,第一BEF 112被定位成与LED光引擎110相邻,使得从LED光引擎110发射的光进入第一BEF 112。第一BEF 112上的棱镜元件的第一方向是基本竖直的。具有大于约97%的透射率的扩散器114放置在第一BEF 112旁边,使得离开第一BEF 112的引导光被扩散器114扩散。最后,扩散光离开扩散器114并进入第二BEF 116,第二BEF 116具有多个棱镜元件,该多个棱镜元件沿第二方向取向,该第二方向相对于后视组件10是基本水平的。
再次参见图4D,第一和第二BEF 112、116和扩散器114的取向和构造将LED光引擎110的光以长方形图案横穿极坐标图的水平轴。可以看出,在约+25度至约+50度和约-25度至约-50度的可能的视角之间,后视组件不会像图4A中那样产生暗点。此外,通过在第一BEF112之前和第二BEF 116之后使用透射率大于约95%的扩散器114,与图4A-C的实施例相比,显示器22通常具有更大的总体亮度值以及在可能的视角上的增加的亮度值。这意味着来自LED引擎110的更多的光使其到达显示器22。通过引导光使得其基本上朝向可能的视角发射,如图4C的实施例所示,与现有技术的设计相比,光被更有效地使用。
尽管相对于具有与玻璃元件12基本相同的全尺寸的显示器进行了公开,但是本发明可以用于各种尺寸的显示器,无论是否包括在后视组件中。例如,本发明可以并入人机接口、电视机和其它以某种角度频繁观察的显示器。
应当理解,本文描述的本发明的实施例可以由一个或多个常规处理器和独特的存储的程序指令组成,该独特的存储的程序指令控制一个或多个处理器,与某些非处理器电路结合,来实施如本文所述的后视组件10的一些、大多数或全部功能。非处理器电路可以包括但不限于信号驱动器、时钟电路、电源电路和/或用户输入装置。因此,这些功能可以被解释为在使用或构建分类系统中使用的方法的步骤。作为另外一种选择,一些或所有功能可以由没有存储的程序指令的状态机实施或者在一个或多个专用集成电路(ASIC)中实施,其中每个功能或一些功能组合被实施为定制逻辑。当然,可以使用这两种方法的组合。因此,本文描述了这些功能的方法和手段。此外,期望的是,在本文公开的概念和原理指导的情况下,尽管可能有重大的努力和由例如可用时间、当前技术和经济考虑因素引起的许多设计选择,但是本领域普通技术人员将能够容易地通过最少的实验生成这样的软件指令和程序和IC。
根据一个实施例,用于车辆的后视镜组件包括用于附接到车辆的壳体、设置在所述壳体中的镜元件和设置在所述壳体中的所述镜元件后面的显示组件。显示组件包括背光组件和设置成接收来自第二增亮膜的光的显示元件。
本领域普通技术人员将理解,所描述的本发明和其它组件的构造不限于任何具体材料。本文公开的本发明的其它示例性实施例可以由各种各样的材料形成,除非本文另有说明。
为了本发明的目的,术语“联接”(其所有形式,联接、联接的,被联接等)通常意味着两个部件(电或机械)直接或间接地彼此连接。这种连接本质上可以是固定的,也可以是可移动的。这样的连接可以通过两个部件(电或机械)和任何另外的中间构件来实现,它们彼此或者利用两个部件一体地形成为单个整体。这种连接本质上可以是永久性的,或者可以是可移除的或可释放的,除非另有说明。

Claims (19)

1.一种用于具有偏振透射轴的显示器的背光组件,所述背光组件包括:
光源,所述光源用于发光;
第一增亮膜,所述第一增亮膜具有沿第一方向延伸并定位成接收从所述光源发出的光的多个棱镜元件;
第二增亮膜,所述第二增亮膜具有沿第二方向延伸的多个棱镜元件;以及
扩散器,所述扩散器定位成接收离开所述第一增亮膜的光,其中离开所述扩散器的光进入所述第二增亮膜。
2.根据权利要求1所述的背光组件,其中所述第一增亮膜的所述多个棱镜元件的所述第一方向是基本竖直的。
3.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的背光组件,其中所述第二增亮膜的所述多个棱镜元件的所述第二方向是基本水平的。
4.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的背光组件,其中所述扩散器具有大于约90%的透射率。
5.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的背光组件,其中所述扩散器的透射率大于约95%。
6.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的背光组件,其中所述光源是LED光引擎。
7.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的背光组件,其中所述背光组件被构造成在以下中的至少一个之间具有基本均匀的亮度:在其水平轴上大约+30度视角至大约+50度视角;以及在其水平轴上大约-30度视角至大约-50度视角。
8.一种显示组件,其包括:
根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的背光组件;以及
显示元件,所述显示元件设置成接收来自所述第二增亮膜的光。
9.根据权利要求8所述的显示器,其中所述显示器是液晶显示器。
10.根据权利要求9所述的显示器,其中所述液晶显示器是IPS型液晶显示器。
11.一种用于车辆的后视镜组件,所述后视镜组件包括:
壳体,所述壳体用于附接到所述车辆;
镜元件,所述镜元件设置在所述壳体中;以及
显示组件,所述显示组件设置在所述壳体中的所述镜元件的后面,所述显示组件包括:
根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的背光组件;以及
显示元件,所述显示元件设置成接收来自所述第二增亮膜的光。
12.一种显示器,其包括:
光源,所述光源用于发光;
第一增亮膜,所述第一增亮膜具有沿第一方向延伸并定位成接收从所述光源发出的光的多个棱镜元件;
第二增亮膜,所述第二增亮膜具有沿第二方向延伸并定位成接收离开所述第一增亮膜的光的多个棱镜元件;以及
扩散器,所述扩散器具有约97%的光透射率,其中所述扩散器设置在所述第一增亮膜和所述第二增亮膜之间。
13.根据权利要求9-11中任一项所述的显示器,其中所述显示元件是液晶显示器。
14.根据权利要求12所述的显示器,其中所述液晶显示器是IPS型液晶显示器。
15.一种用于车辆的后视组件,所述后视组件包括:
壳体,所述壳体用于附接到所述车辆;
玻璃元件,所述玻璃元件设置在所述壳体中;以及
显示器,所述显示器设置在所述壳体中的所述玻璃元件后面,所述显示器包括:
光源,所述光源用于发光;
第一增亮膜,所述第一增亮膜具有沿第一方向延伸并定位成接收从所述光源发出的光的多个第一棱镜元件;
扩散器,所述扩散器被构造成透射来自所述第一增亮膜的约97%的光;
第二增亮膜,所述第二增亮膜具有沿第二方向延伸并定位成接收离开所述扩散器的光的多个棱镜元件;以及
显示元件,所述显示元件设置成接收来自所述第二增亮膜的光,所述显示元件具有沿第二方向延伸的多个第二棱镜元件,
其中所述第一方向是基本竖直的,所述第二方向是基本水平的。
16.根据权利要求14所述的后视组件,其中所述玻璃元件是镜元件。
17.根据权利要求15所述的后视组件,其中所述镜元件是部分反射和部分透射的。
18.根据权利要求14和15中任一项所述的后视组件,其中所述镜元件是电致变色镜元件。
19.根据权利要求14-17中任一项所述的后视组件,其中所述光源是LED光引擎。
