Process for the production of an azo carbate. It has been found that a valuable azo dye can be produced if 1,3-dioxynaphthalene is used on the one hand with di-anotated 4-nitro-2-aminobenzene-1-carboxylic acid and on the other hand with the diazoazo compound of tetrazotized benzidine and salicydic acid
united.
The new dye is a dark powder that dissolves in water and dilute sodium carbonate solution with yellow-brown, in dilute caustic alkalis with orange-brown, in conc. Sulfuric acid dissolves with a burgundy red color and dyes cotton in real, yellow-brown shades using the one or two-bath copper plating process.
The coupling of the 1,3-dioxynaphthalene with the two diazo compounds is preferably carried out in an alkaline, e.g. B. Soda or sodium hydroxide containing medium. Bring the two diazo compounds conveniently one after the other to the coupling, for.
B. the way that 1,3-dioxynaphthalene first combined with di anotized 4 - nitro - 2 - aminobenzene -1-carboxylic acid and the resulting mono azo color, then substance with the known manner from tetrazotized benzidine and salicylic acid through unilateral coupling obtained diazoazo compound is coupled.
Example: 9.2 parts of benzidine are tetrazotized with hydrochloric acid and sodium nitrite as usual. The clear tetrazo solution is combined for one hour at 5 to 6 with a solution of 8 parts of salicylic acid and 20 parts of sodium carbonate in 80 parts of water.
A brown-orange suspension of the diazoazo compound is obtained. 9.1 parts of 4-nitro-2-amino-1-benzoic acid are dianotized in the customary manner with hydrochloric acid and sodium nitrite.
The suspension of the diazo compound is added within 1/2 hour at 4 to 6 to a solution of 8.5 parts of 1,3 dioxynaphthalene, 13 parts of sodium carbonate and 2 parts of sodium hydroxide in 80 parts of water. The mixture is stirred for one hour and the monoazo dye formed is filtered off. It is entered in paste form into the suspension of the above diazoazo compound.
Coupling is carried out for one hour at 5 to 8 and 24 hours at 18 to 22, after dilution of the coupling mixture with 100 parts of water it is heated to 95, the trisazo dye formed is filtered off and dried.
