Abstract

Un motor comprende un cigüenal que gira alrededor de un eje del cigüenal del motor; un piston de expansion que se desliza dentro de un cilindro de expansion y está conectado operativamente con el cigüenal de modo tal que el piston de expansion realiza un movimiento de vaivén mediante una carrera de expansion y una carrera de escape en un ciclo de cuatro tiempos durante una unica vuelta del cigüenal, un piston de compresion que se desliza dentro de un cilindro de compresion y está conectado operativamente con el cigüenal de modo tal que el piston de compresion realiza un movimiento de vaivén mediante una carrera de admision y una carrera de compresion en el mismo ciclo de cuatro tiempos durante la misma vuelta del cigüenal, un conducto de paso que interconecta los cilindros de compresion y de expansion, incluyendo el conducto de paso una válvula de admision y una válvula de paso que definen entre si una cámara de presion, donde el motor tiene una relacion de volumenes de cilindro entre el punto muerto inferior (PMI) y el punto muerto superior (PMS), tanto para el cilindro de expansion como para el cilindro de compresion que es sustancialmente de 40 a 1 o superior, la válvula de paso se cierra cuando el piston de expansion desciende desde el punto muerto superior al punto muerto inferior, la cámara de combustion dentro del cilindro de expansion es iniciada después que el piston de expansion alcanza la posicion de punto muerto superior, durante la carrera de expansion y la válvula de paso permanece abierta durante al menos una porcion del evento de combustion en el cilindro de expansion.
