Predmetni pronalazak se odnosi na polinukleotidne molekule koji obuhvataju nukleotidne sekvence koji kodiraju aveC genski proizvod, gde polinukleotidni molekuli mogu da budu korišćeni da promene klasni 2:1 odnos avermektina ili količinu avermektina koji su proizvedeni u fermentacionim kulturama S. avermitilis. Predmetni pronalazak se dalje odnosi na vektore, ćelije domaćina i mutantne vrste S. avertimilis u kojima aveC gen je deaktiviran ili mutiran tako da se proizvede promenjen 2:1 odnos ili količine avermektina.
