Description
本発明は、ミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物及びシリコーンゴム硬化物に関する。
一般的にシリコーンゴムは耐候性、耐久性、耐熱性、着色性に優れ、また生理的に不活性であるため、建築材料、電気電子部品、事務機器、自動車部品、医療器具など様々な分野で使用されている。
シリコーンゴムの原料として用いられる直鎖状オルガノポリシロキサンの製造方法としては、低分子量の環状又は直鎖状のオルガノポリシロキサンを、酸性又は塩基性の触媒を用いて、平衡化反応を利用して重合する方法が知られている。しかし、該重合法においては、シロキサン結合の生成と開裂が同時に起こる結果、得られる高分子量の直鎖状オルガノポリシロキサンは低分子量の環状シロキサン(以下、低分子シロキサン)を多く含有したものになる。
現在の化学物質規制では、蓄積性をBCF(Bioconcentration Factor(生物濃縮係数))で評価することが一般的である。実際の環境下でデータを取る方が、自然界での蓄積性を正確に評価することが可能であるが、多くの化学物質を評価しなければならず、労力や費用の面から、BCFという実験室データが蓄積性の指標として用いられている。
BCFは、水中の魚に化学物質がどの程度蓄積するかを試験する方法であり、化学物質の濃度一定下で実験を実施する。そのため、難水溶性の物質や、揮発性が高い物質の蓄積性を評価することには不向きな方法である。四量体、五量体及び六量体の低分子シロキサン(D4-6)は、実際の環境下では蓄積性が低く有害性がほとんどないことが明らかになっているものの、BCFは高い値を示し、規制される状況となっている。
欧州では、D4-6はSVHC(Substances of Very High Concern(高懸念物質))に指定されている。日本でも十分なデータを有していたD5は監視化学物質とはならなかったが、データが不足しているD4及びD6は監視化学物質に指定された。その様な世界的な化学物質規制の潮流の中で、低分子シロキサンの低減が求められている。
特許文献1では、分子末端に少なくとも1つのヒドロキシ基をもつオルガノポリシロキサンに、水酸化マグネシウム、水酸化カルシウム、水酸化ストロンチウムおよび水酸化バリウムから選択された水酸化物を添加し、縮重合反応させ重合体を得る方法が開示されている。しかし、この方法では、得られる生成物の重合度が低く、生ゴム状物質を得ることは難しい。
特許文献2では、分子鎖両末端にシラノール基を持つオルガノポリシロキサン及びトリオルガノシラノール等に2官能ジアルキルアミノシリル基を持つシランもしくはシロキサンを添加し、縮重合反応させ重合体を得る方法が開示されている。しかし、この方法では、中和時、取り除くことが困難なアミノ化合物が副生し、生成物に残存するため、副生するアミノ化合物由来の臭気が問題となる。
特許文献3では、揮発性の低分子シロキサンの含有量が少ないシリコーンゴム組成物についての記載があるが、電気接点に対してのシロキサンによる接点障害が起こらない程度の低分子シロキサン量であり、また、有機過酸化物に限定されている。
ところで、シリコーンゴム組成物のうち、硬化する前の状態が天然ゴムや通常の合成ゴムの未加硫配合ゴムに類似していて、練りロール機あるいは密閉式の混合機などで可塑化及び混合することができるものは、例えばミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物と呼ばれている。ミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物の重要な特性の1つとして、ロール加工性が挙げられる。ロール加工性に優れている組成物ほど、例えば混練の際に、ロール等にへばりつきづらく、良好に混練することが可能である。作業性の観点から、ミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物は、ロール加工性に優れていることが望まれる。
特許文献4では、重合度20以下の低分子シロキサン成分が少ないシリコーンゴム組成物を開示している。この組成物は、25℃における動粘度が100~10,000mm2/sであり、分子両末端にアルケニル基を持つオルガノポリシロキサンと、1分子中に2個のヒドロシリル基を有するオルガノポリシロキサン中のヒドロシリル基とのヒドロシリル化反応によって鎖長延長されたポリマーを使用している。しかし、特許文献4には、組成物のロール加工性に関する記載はない。
特許文献5では、重合度が10以下の低分子シロキサン含有量が2,000ppm以下のシリコーンゴム組成物を開示している。(HO)R2SiOSiR2(OH)を使用しているため、経済的でない。
オイル状または生ゴム状のオルガノポリシロキサンから低分子シロキサンを留去する方法は数多く知られているが、補強材としてシリカを添加する際に、表面処理剤を添加する必要があり、表面処理剤由来の低分子シロキサンが含有してしまうことがある。
また、予め表面処理されたシリカから表面処理剤由来の低分子シロキサンを除去したシリカを用いることで、表面処理剤由来の低分子シロキサンの影響はなくなるが、圧縮永久ひずみなどの特性を満足できない。
本発明は上記事情に鑑みなされたもので、重合度が10以下の低分子シロキサン成分の合計が1,000ppm未満であり、シリコーンゴムコンパウンドの可塑度変化が小さく、圧縮永久ひずみが小さいシリコーンゴム硬化物となるミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物を提供することを目的とする。
上記課題を解決するために、本発明では、(A)不純物として含まれる重合度10以下の低分子シロキサンの含有量が1,000ppm未満であり、一分子中に少なくとも2個のアルケニル基を有する、重合度が100以上の下記平均組成式(1)で表されるオルガノポリシロキサン:100質量部、

を含むものであるミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物を提供する。
このようなミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物であれば、不純物として含まれる重合度が10以下の低分子シロキサン成分の合計が1,000ppm未満であり、シリコーンゴムコンパウンドの可塑度変化が小さく、圧縮永久ひずみが小さいシリコーンゴム硬化物を与えることができる。
また、本発明では、前記(B)成分が、シリカ100質量部に対して、ビニル基が0.0001モル以上となる量の前記ビニル基含有アルコキシシラン及び/又はビニル基含有オルガノシラザンで処理された処理シリカであることができる。
このような処理シリカであれば、圧縮永久ひずみが小さいシリコーンゴム硬化物を与えることができる。
また、本発明では、前記(C)成分が、オルガノハイドロジェンポリシロキサンとヒドロシリル化触媒との組み合わせである付加反応硬化剤であることができる。
このような硬化剤であれば、食品に接するような用途に好ましい。
また、本発明では、前記(C)成分が有機過酸化物硬化剤であることができる。
このような硬化剤であれば、電線用途等に好ましい。
また、本発明では、上記ミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物の硬化物であるシリコーンゴム硬化物を提供する。
このようなシリコーンゴム硬化物であれば、低分子シロキサン成分の量が少なく、圧縮永久ひずみが良好な硬化物となる。
また、本発明では、前記硬化物中に含まれる重合度10以下の低分子シロキサン成分の合計が、1,000ppm未満であることができる。
このようなシリコーンゴム硬化物であれば、低分子シロキサン成分の量がより少なく、化学物質規制の要求に適うものとなる。
なお、本発明において、上記(A)、(B)成分を配合し、硬化剤を配合する前の混合物を(ミラブル型)シリコーンゴムコンパウンドと称し、このコンパウンドに硬化剤を配合したものを(ミラブル型)シリコーンゴム組成物と称する。
以上のように、本発明のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物によれば、重合度が10以下の低分子シロキサン成分の合計が1,000ppm未満であり、シリコーンゴムコンパウンドの可塑度変化が小さく、圧縮永久ひずみが小さいシリコーンゴム硬化物を得ることができる。
また、本発明では、ミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物の硬化物であることを特徴とするシリコーンゴム硬化物を提供する。
上述のように、化学物質規制により適合し、生成物に残存する揮発成分を低減し、電気接点に対して接点障害を起こしにくい、重合度が10以下の低分子シロキサン成分の合計が1,000ppm未満であり、シリコーンゴムコンパウンドの可塑度変化が小さく、圧縮永久ひずみが小さいシリコーンゴム硬化物となるミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物の開発が求められていた。
本発明者らは、上記課題について鋭意検討を重ねた結果、不純物として含まれる重合度10以下の低分子シロキサンの含有量が1,000ppm未満であり、一分子中に少なくとも2個のアルケニル基を有する、重合度が100以上のオルガノポリシロキサンと、疎水化度が40以上であって、ビニル基含有アルコキシシラン及び/又はビニル基含有オルガノシラザンで処理されている処理シリカと、硬化剤とを含むものであるミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物であれば、重合度が10以下の低分子シロキサン成分の合計が1,000ppm未満であり、シリコーンゴムコンパウンドの可塑度変化が小さく、圧縮永久ひずみが小さいシリコーンゴム硬化物となるミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物が得られることを見出し、本発明を完成させた。

以下、本発明について詳細に説明するが、本発明はこれらに限定されるものではない。
[(A)成分]
本発明において、(A)成分は、ミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物における主剤(ベースポリマー)であり、不純物として含まれる重合度10以下の低分子シロキサンの含有量が1,000ppm未満であり、一分子中に少なくとも2個のアルケニル基を有する、下記平均組成式(1)で表される重合度が100以上のオルガノポリシロキサンである。

上記平均組成式(1)中、R1は同一又は異種の非置換若しくは置換の1価炭化水素基である。1価炭化水素基としては通常、炭素数1~12、特に炭素数1~8のものが好ましく、具体的には、メチル基、エチル基、プロピル基、ブチル基、ヘキシル基、オクチル基等のアルキル基、シクロペンチル基、シクロヘキシル基等のシクロアルキル基、ビニル基、アリル基、プロペニル基、ブテニル基、ヘキセニル基等のアルケニル基、シクロヘキセニル基等のシクロアルケニル基、フェニル基、トリル基等のアリール基、ベンジル基、2-フェニルエチル基等のアラルキル基、あるいはこれらの基の水素原子の一部又は全部をフッ素、塩素等のハロゲン原子若しくはシアノ基などで置換した、例えばクロロメチル基、トリフルオロプロピル基、シアノエチル基等が挙げられる。上記の中では、メチル基、ビニル基、フェニル基、トリフルオロプロピル基が好ましく、特にメチル基、ビニル基が好ましい。
特に、(A)成分としてのオルガノポリシロキサンは、1分子中に2個以上、通常、2~50個、特に2~20個程度のアルケニル基、シクロアルケニル基等の脂肪族不飽和基を有するものが好ましく、特にビニル基を有するものであることが好ましい。この場合、全R1中0.01~20モル%、特に0.02~10モル%が脂肪族不飽和基であることが好ましい。なお、この脂肪族不飽和基は、分子鎖末端でケイ素原子に結合していても、分子鎖の途中(分子鎖非末端)のケイ素原子に結合していても、その両方であってもよいが、少なくとも分子鎖末端のケイ素原子に結合していることが好ましい。
また、全R1中80モル%以上、好ましくは90モル%以上、より好ましくは95モル%以上、更に好ましくは脂肪族不飽和基を除く全てのR1がアルキル基、特にはメチル基であることが望ましい。
aは1.95~2.05であり、好ましくは1.98~2.02、より好ましくは1.99~2.01の正数である。
(A)成分であるオルガノポリシロキサンの分子構造は、直鎖状、又は一部分岐構造を有する直鎖状であることが好ましい。具体的には、該オルガノポリシロキサンの主鎖を構成するジオルガノシロキサン単位(R1
2SiO2/2、R1は上記と同じ、以下同様)の繰り返し構造が、ジメチルシロキサン単位のみの繰り返しからなるもの、又はこの主鎖を構成するジメチルシロキサン単位の繰り返しからなるジメチルポリシロキサン構造の一部として、フェニル基、ビニル基、3,3,3-トリフルオロプロピル基等を置換基として有するジフェニルシロキサン単位、メチルフェニルシロキサン単位、メチルビニルシロキサン単位、メチル-3,3,3-トリフルオロプロピルシロキサン単位等のジオルガノシロキサン単位を導入したもの等が好適である。
また、分子鎖両末端は、例えば、トリメチルシロキシ基、ジメチルフェニルシロキシ基、ビニルジメチルシロキシ基、ジビニルメチルシロキシ基、トリビニルシロキシ基等のトリオルガノシロキシ基(R1
3SiO1/2)などで封鎖されていることが好ましい。
このようなオルガノポリシロキサンは、例えば、オルガノハロゲノシランの1種又は2種以上を(共)加水分解縮合することにより、あるいは環状ポリシロキサン(シロキサンの3量体、4量体等)をアルカリ性又は酸性の触媒を用いて開環重合することによって得ることができる。
なお、上記オルガノポリシロキサンの重合度は100以上(通常、100~100,000)であり、好ましくは1,000~100,000、より好ましくは2,000~50,000、特に好ましくは3,000~20,000であり、室温(25℃)において自己流動性のない、いわゆる生ゴム状(非液状)であることが好ましい。重合度が100未満であるとコンパウンドとした際に、ロール粘着等の問題が生じ、ロール作業性が悪化する。なお、この重合度は、下記条件で測定したゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィ(GPC)分析によるポリスチレン換算の重量平均分子量から、平均重合度として求められる。

(A)成分は、1種を単独で用いても、分子量(重合度)や分子構造の異なる2種以上の混合物であってもよい。また、上記オルガノポリシロキサンは、重合度10以下の低分子シロキサンの含有量が1,000ppm未満であることも特徴である。前記含有量は、好ましくは、700ppm以下であり、より好ましくは400ppm以下である(質量換算)。重合度10以下の低分子シロキサンの含有量は低ければ低いほど好ましく、下限値は特に限定されないが、例えば10ppm以上とすることができる。前記低分子シロキサンの含有量が1,000ppm以上であると、接点障害が起こりやすくなったり、環境問題があるため好ましくない。なお、本発明において、重合度10以下の低分子シロキサンの含有量は、下記に示す条件でガスクロマトグラフィーによって、n-テトラデカンを内部標準として測定したものである。

上記オルガノポリシロキサンから重合度10以下の低分子シロキサンを除去する方法は種々知られており、加熱蒸留法、減圧蒸留法、薄膜蒸留法などが挙げられる。効率よく低分子シロキサンを除去するためには、減圧下で高温の方が好ましいが、温度が高すぎると、オルガノポリシロキサンがクラッキングを起こすため、100~300℃で除去することが好ましい。
[(B)成分]
(B)成分は処理シリカであり、疎水化度が40以上、好ましくは50~70であって、ビニル基含有アルコキシシラン及び/又はビニル基含有オルガノシラザン(アルケニル基含有オルガノシラン)で処理された処理シリカである。
(B)成分を含まないと、シリコーンゴムコンパウンドの可塑度変化が大きくなってしまったり、シリコーンゴム硬化物の圧縮永久ひずみが大きくなってしまう。
処理シリカの疎水化度が40未満であると、シリコーンゴムコンパウンドの可塑戻りが大きくなってしまったり、オルガノポリシロキサンへの配合が困難になってしまったりする。
(B)成分は処理シリカであり、疎水化度が40以上、好ましくは50~70であって、ビニル基含有アルコキシシラン及び/又はビニル基含有オルガノシラザン(アルケニル基含有オルガノシラン)で処理された処理シリカである。
(B)成分を含まないと、シリコーンゴムコンパウンドの可塑度変化が大きくなってしまったり、シリコーンゴム硬化物の圧縮永久ひずみが大きくなってしまう。
処理シリカの疎水化度が40未満であると、シリコーンゴムコンパウンドの可塑戻りが大きくなってしまったり、オルガノポリシロキサンへの配合が困難になってしまったりする。
なお、本発明において疎水化度とはシリカ表面がどの程度疎水化表面処理されているかを表す指標であり、下記メタノール滴定法によって測定した値を指すものとする。
<疎水化度の測定方法(メタノール滴定法)>
200mLのビーカーに純水50mLを入れ、サンプル0.2gを加え、マグネットスターラーで攪拌する。メタノールを入れたビュレットの先端を液中に入れ、攪拌下でメタノールを滴下し、サンプルが完全に水中に分散するまでに要したメタノールの添加量をYmLとしたとき、下記式で得られる。

200mLのビーカーに純水50mLを入れ、サンプル0.2gを加え、マグネットスターラーで攪拌する。メタノールを入れたビュレットの先端を液中に入れ、攪拌下でメタノールを滴下し、サンプルが完全に水中に分散するまでに要したメタノールの添加量をYmLとしたとき、下記式で得られる。
疎水化度={Y/(50+Y)}×100
(B)成分の処理シリカは、シリカ100質量部に対して、ビニル基が0.0001モル以上となる量のビニル基含有アルコキシシラン及び/又はビニル基含有オルガノシラザンで処理されたものであることが望ましい。ビニル基の上限値については特に限定されないが、例えば0.1モル以下とすることができる。添加するビニル基が0.0001モル以上であれば、硬化物の圧縮永久ひずみが好ましいものとなる。
処理シリカは、例えば、ヒュームドシリカを、高速ミキサーに仕込み回転させ、回転が安定したところで、疎水化剤を噴霧し湿潤シリカを得た後、この湿潤シリカを加熱することで得られる。
(B)成分の処理シリカの配合量は、(A)成分のオルガノポリシロキサン100質量部に対して5~100質量部であり、10~60質量部であることが好ましい。(B)成分の配合量が少なすぎる場合には補強効果が得られず、多すぎる場合には加工性が悪くなり、また機械的強度が低下してしまう。
シリカを処理するためのアルケニル基含有オルガノシランは、ビニル基含有アルコキシシラン及び/又はビニル基含有オルガノシラザンである。ビニル基含有アルコキシシランとしては、特に制限されないが、ビニルトリエトキシシラン、ビニルトリメトキシシラン、ジビニルジメトキシシラン、ビニルトリス(メトキシエトキシ)シラン等が好適である。
ビニル基含有オルガノシラザンとしては、特に制限されないが、1-ビニルペンタメチルジシラザン、1,3-ジビニル-1,1,3,3-テトラメチルジシラザン、1,3-ジメチル-1,1,3,3-テトラビニルジシラザン、1,3-ジビニル-1,1,3,3-テトラビニルジシラザン等が例示されるが、1,3-ジビニル-1,1,3,3-テトラメチルジシラザンが好適である。
本発明では、このようなアルケニル基含有オルガノシランであらかじめシリカを処理しているので、表面処理剤由来の低分子シロキサンの影響がないだけでなく、シリコーンゴムコンパウンドの可塑度変化が小さく、圧縮永久ひずみが小さいシリコーンゴム硬化物を与えることができる。
[(C)成分]
硬化剤としては、シリコーンゴムコンパウンドを硬化させ得るものであれば特に限定されないが、下記の(C-1)付加反応硬化剤と(C-2)有機過酸化物硬化剤とが挙げられる。

(C-1)付加反応硬化剤
(C-1)付加反応硬化剤としては、オルガノハイドロジェンポリシロキサンとヒドロシリル化触媒とを組み合せて用いる。
(C-1)付加反応硬化剤としては、オルガノハイドロジェンポリシロキサンとヒドロシリル化触媒とを組み合せて用いる。
オルガノハイドロジェンポリシロキサンとしては、1分子中に2個以上、好ましくは3個以上、より好ましくは3~200個、更に好ましくは4~100個程度のケイ素原子に結合した水素原子(即ち、ヒドロシリル基)を含有すれば、直鎖状、環状、分枝状、三次元網状構造のいずれであってもよく、付加反応硬化型シリコーンゴム組成物の架橋剤として公知のオルガノハイドロジェンポリシロキサンを用いることができ、例えば、下記平均組成式(2)で表されるオルガノハイドロジェンポリシロキサンを用いることができる。

上記平均組成式(2)中、R2は非置換又は置換の1価炭化水素基を示し、同一であっても異なっていてもよく、脂肪族不飽和結合を除いたものであることが好ましい。通常、炭素数1~12、特に1~8のものが好ましく、具体的には、メチル基、エチル基、プロピル基等のアルキル基、シクロヘキシル基等のシクロアルキル基、フェニル基、トリル基等のアリール基、ベンジル基、2-フェニルエチル基、2-フェニルプロピル基等のアラルキル基、及びこれらの基の水素原子の一部又は全部をハロゲン原子等で置換した基、例えば、3,3,3-トリフロロプロピル基等が挙げられる。
なお、r,sは、0<r<3、好ましくは0.5≦r≦2.2、より好ましくは1.0≦r≦2.0、0<s≦3、好ましくは0.002≦s≦1.1、より好ましくは0.005≦s≦1、0<r+s≦3、好ましくは1≦r+s≦3、より好ましくは1.002≦r+s≦2.7を満たす正数である。
オルガノハイドロジェンポリシロキサンは、ヒドロシリル基を1分子中に2個以上、好ましくは3個以上有するが、これは分子鎖末端にあっても、分子鎖の途中にあっても、その両方にあってもよい。また、このオルガノハイドロジェンポリシロキサンとしては、25℃における粘度が0.5~10,000mPa・s、特に1~300mPa・sであることが好ましい。なお、粘度は25℃における回転粘度計により測定した値である(以下、同じ)。

上記オルガノハイドロジェンポリシロキサンの配合量は、(A)成分100質量部に対し0.1~40質量部が好ましい。また(A)成分及び(B)成分中の脂肪族不飽和結合(アルケニル基及びジエン基等)1個に対し、ケイ素原子に結合した水素原子(ヒドロシリル基)の割合が0.5~10個の範囲が適当であり、好ましくは0.7~5個となるような範囲が適当である。0.5個以上であれば架橋が十分であり、十分な機械的強度が得られ、また10個以下であれば硬化後の物理特性が低下せず、特に耐熱性が悪くなったり、圧縮永久ひずみが大きくなったりすることがない。
ヒドロシリル化触媒は、(A)成分のアルケニル基や(B)成分のアルケニル基(ビニル基)と、オルガノハイドロジェンポリシロキサンのケイ素原子結合水素原子(ヒドロシリル基)とをヒドロシリル化付加反応させる触媒である。ヒドロシリル化触媒としては、白金族金属系触媒が挙げられ、白金族金属の単体とその化合物があり、これには従来、付加反応硬化型シリコーンゴム組成物の触媒として公知のものが使用できる。例えば、シリカ、アルミナ又はシリカゲルのような担体に吸着させた粒子状白金金属、塩化第二白金、塩化白金酸、塩化白金酸6水塩のアルコール溶液等の白金触媒、パラジウム触媒、ロジウム触媒等が挙げられるが、白金又は白金化合物(白金触媒)が好ましい。
触媒の添加量は、付加反応を促進できればよく、通常、シリコーンゴムコンパウンドに対して白金族金属量に換算して1質量ppm~1質量%の範囲で使用されるが、10~500質量ppmの範囲が好ましい。添加量が1質量ppm以上であれば、付加反応が十分促進され、硬化が十分となり、一方、1質量%以下であれば、十分な反応性を有するため、不経済となることがない。
また、上記の触媒のほかに硬化速度を調整する目的で、本発明の目的に応じて付加反応制御剤を使用してもよい。その具体例としては、エチニルシクロヘキサノール等のアセチレンアルコール系制御剤、テトラシクロメチルビニルポリシロキサン等が挙げられる。付加反応制御剤は、1種単独で用いても2種以上を併用してもよい。
(C-2)有機過酸化物硬化剤
(C-2)有機過酸化物硬化剤としては、例えば、ベンゾイルパーオキサイド、2,4-ジクロロベンゾイルパーオキサイド、p-メチルベンゾイルパーオキサイド、o-メチルベンゾイルパーオキサイド、2,4-ジクミルパーオキサイド、2,5-ジメチル-2,5-ビス(t-ブチルパーオキシ)ヘキサン、ジ-t-ブチルパーオキサイド、t-ブチルパーベンゾエート、1,6-ヘキサンジオール-ビス-t-ブチルパーオキシカーボネート等が挙げられる。
(C-2)有機過酸化物硬化剤としては、例えば、ベンゾイルパーオキサイド、2,4-ジクロロベンゾイルパーオキサイド、p-メチルベンゾイルパーオキサイド、o-メチルベンゾイルパーオキサイド、2,4-ジクミルパーオキサイド、2,5-ジメチル-2,5-ビス(t-ブチルパーオキシ)ヘキサン、ジ-t-ブチルパーオキサイド、t-ブチルパーベンゾエート、1,6-ヘキサンジオール-ビス-t-ブチルパーオキシカーボネート等が挙げられる。
有機過酸化物硬化剤の添加量は、(A)成分100質量部に対して0.1~10質量部が好ましく、特に0.2~5質量部が好ましい。配合量が0.1質量部以上であれば硬化が不十分となることがなく、10質量部以下であれば有機過酸化物硬化剤の分解残渣によりシリコーンゴム硬化物が黄変することがない。なお、(A)成分に、(C-1)成分と(C-2)成分とを、それぞれ上記配合量の範囲内で組み合せて配合した、付加反応硬化と有機過酸化物硬化とを併用した共加硫型のシリコーンゴム組成物とすることもできる。
(C-1)成分と(C-2)成分は、目的に応じて使い分けることができる。例えば、電線用途等に付加反応硬化剤を用いると、芯線に密着するなどの問題が起こる場合があるため、有機過酸化物硬化剤の使用が好ましい。また、食品トレー等のように、食品に接するような用途では、有機過酸化物硬化剤の分解残渣の影響が懸念されるため、付加反応硬化剤の使用が好ましい。
[その他の成分]
本発明のシリコーンゴム組成物には、上記成分に加え、必要に応じて、粉砕石英、結晶性シリカ、珪藻土、炭酸カルシウム等の充填材、着色剤、引き裂き強度向上剤、受酸剤、アルミナや窒化硼素等の熱伝導率向上剤、離型剤、充填材用分散剤として各種アルコキシシラン、特にフェニル基含有アルコキシシラン及びその加水分解物、ジフェニルシランジオール、カーボンファンクショナルシランなどの熱硬化型のシリコーンゴム組成物における公知の充填材や添加剤を添加することは任意である。
本発明のシリコーンゴム組成物には、上記成分に加え、必要に応じて、粉砕石英、結晶性シリカ、珪藻土、炭酸カルシウム等の充填材、着色剤、引き裂き強度向上剤、受酸剤、アルミナや窒化硼素等の熱伝導率向上剤、離型剤、充填材用分散剤として各種アルコキシシラン、特にフェニル基含有アルコキシシラン及びその加水分解物、ジフェニルシランジオール、カーボンファンクショナルシランなどの熱硬化型のシリコーンゴム組成物における公知の充填材や添加剤を添加することは任意である。
<硬化条件>
本発明のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物は、公知の硬化方法により公知の硬化条件下で硬化させることができる。具体的には、通常、25~200℃、好ましくは80~160℃で加熱することにより、組成物を硬化させることができる。加熱時間は、0.5分間~5時間程度、特に1分間~3時間程度でよい。
本発明のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物は、公知の硬化方法により公知の硬化条件下で硬化させることができる。具体的には、通常、25~200℃、好ましくは80~160℃で加熱することにより、組成物を硬化させることができる。加熱時間は、0.5分間~5時間程度、特に1分間~3時間程度でよい。
以上に説明した本発明のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物は、(A)成分のオルガノポリシロキサンと(B)成分の処理シリカを組み合わせて使用することで、低分子シロキサン成分が少なく、可塑戻りが小さいミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物とすることができる。
[シリコーンゴム硬化物]
本発明のシリコーンゴム硬化物は、本発明のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物の硬化物である。
本発明のシリコーンゴム硬化物は、本発明のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物の硬化物である。
そのため、本発明のシリコーンゴム硬化物は、低分子シロキサン成分の量が少なく、圧縮永久ひずみが良好な硬化物である。
例えば、本発明のシリコーンゴム硬化物は、重合度10以下の低分子シロキサン成分の含有量の合計が1,000ppm未満であるものとすることができる。重合度10以下の低分子シロキサンの含有量は低ければ低いほど好ましく、下限値は特に限定されないが、例えば10ppm以上とすることができる。
以下、実施例及び比較例を用いて本発明を具体的に説明するが、本発明はこれらに限定されるものではない。
[調製例1~4、比較調製例1~3]
以下の調製例及び比較調製例における疎水化度は、下記の方法により測定した。
<疎水化度の測定方法(メタノール滴定法)>
200mLのビーカーに純水50mLを入れ、サンプル0.2gを加え、マグネットスターラーで攪拌する。メタノールを入れたビュレットの先端を液中に入れ、攪拌下でメタノールを滴下し、サンプルが完全に水中に分散するまでに要したメタノールの添加量をYmLとしたとき、次式で得られる。下記処理シリカ1~7の疎水化度を表1に示す。

以下の調製例及び比較調製例における疎水化度は、下記の方法により測定した。
<疎水化度の測定方法(メタノール滴定法)>

[調製例1]
ヒュームドシリカ(アエロジル200、日本アエロジル(株)製)200gを、高速ミキサー(容量10L)に仕込み、回転数1,500rpmで運転した。回転が安定したところで、疎水化剤として両末端シラノール基を有し、平均重合度4、25℃における粘度が15mPa・sであるジメチルポリシロキサン20gとビニルトリメトキシシラン1.2gを20秒間で噴霧し、湿潤シリカが得られた。この湿潤シリカ100gを2Lフラスコに仕込み、250℃で2.5時間加熱した。得られた処理シリカ1は、メタノール滴定法による疎水化度が62であった。
ヒュームドシリカ(アエロジル200、日本アエロジル(株)製)200gを、高速ミキサー(容量10L)に仕込み、回転数1,500rpmで運転した。回転が安定したところで、疎水化剤として両末端シラノール基を有し、平均重合度4、25℃における粘度が15mPa・sであるジメチルポリシロキサン20gとビニルトリメトキシシラン1.2gを20秒間で噴霧し、湿潤シリカが得られた。この湿潤シリカ100gを2Lフラスコに仕込み、250℃で2.5時間加熱した。得られた処理シリカ1は、メタノール滴定法による疎水化度が62であった。
[調製例2]
ビニルトリメトキシシランを0.6gにした以外は、調製例1と同様に処理シリカ2を調製した。得られた処理シリカ2は、メタノール滴定法による疎水化度が61であった。

[調製例3]
両末端シラノール基を有し、平均重合度4、25℃における粘度が15mPa・sであるジメチルポリシロキサン30gにした以外は、調製例1と同様に処理シリカ3を調製した。得られた処理シリカ3は、メタノール滴定法による疎水化度が66であった。

[調製例4]
ビニルトリメトキシシランではなく、1,3-ジビニル-1,1,3,3-テトラメチルジシラザン0.6gにした以外は、調製例1と同様に処理シリカ4を調製した。得られた処理シリカ4は、メタノール滴定法による疎水化度が68であった。

両末端シラノール基を有し、平均重合度4、25℃における粘度が15mPa・sであるジメチルポリシロキサンを10gにした以外は、調製例1と同様に処理シリカ5を調製した。得られた処理シリカ5は、メタノール滴定法による疎水化度が35であった。

[比較調製例2]
ビニルトリメトキシシランを添加しない以外は、調製例1と同様に処理シリカ6を調製した。得られた処理シリカ6は、メタノール滴定法による疎水化度が60であった。

[合成例、比較合成例]
以下のように、ベースポリマーとなるオルガノポリシロキサン(1)、(2)を合成した。

オクタメチルシクロテトラシロキサン1,800g、1,3-ジビニル-1,1,3,3-テトラメチルジシロキサン0.5g及び1,3,5,7-テトラメチル-1,3,5,7-テトラビニルシクロシロキサン2.6gからなる混合物に、10%水酸化テトラ-n-ブチルホスホニウムのジメチルポリシロキサネート3gと添加し、110℃で1時間重合反応させた。
オクタメチルシクロテトラシロキサン1,800g、1,3-ジビニル-1,1,3,3-テトラメチルジシロキサン0.5g及び1,3,5,7-テトラメチル-1,3,5,7-テトラビニルシクロシロキサン2.6gからなる混合物に、10%水酸化テトラ-n-ブチルホスホニウムのジメチルポリシロキサネート3gと添加し、110℃で1時間重合反応させた。
重合反応後、150℃で2時間保温し、水酸化テトラ-n-ブチルホスホニウムを熱分解させた後、1.3gのN,O-ビス(トリメチルシリル)アセトアミドを添加し、1時間保温してから170~180℃の保温/減圧下で2mmHg以下となるまでおよそ8時間、揮発分を留去して両末端及び側鎖にビニル基を有するオルガノポリシロキサン(1)を得た。得られたオルガノポリシロキサン(1)は、重量平均重合度が8,000であった。このオルガノポリシロキサン(1)に含まれる、重合度が3~10の低分子環状シロキサン(低分子シロキサン、D3~D10)の含有量を下記測定条件により測定した。測定結果を表2に示す。
[比較合成例]
170~180℃の保温/減圧下で2mmHg以下となるまでおよそ8時間、揮発分を留去したのではなく、150~160℃の保温/減圧下で2mmHg以下となるまでおよそ2時間、揮発分を留去した以外は、合成例と同様に調製し、両末端及び側鎖にビニル基を有するオルガノポリシロキサン(2)を得た。得られたオルガノポリシロキサン(2)は、重量平均重合度が8,000であった。このオルガノポリシロキサン(2)に含まれる、重合度が3~10の低分子環状シロキサン(D3~D10)の含有量を表2に示す。
170~180℃の保温/減圧下で2mmHg以下となるまでおよそ8時間、揮発分を留去したのではなく、150~160℃の保温/減圧下で2mmHg以下となるまでおよそ2時間、揮発分を留去した以外は、合成例と同様に調製し、両末端及び側鎖にビニル基を有するオルガノポリシロキサン(2)を得た。得られたオルガノポリシロキサン(2)は、重量平均重合度が8,000であった。このオルガノポリシロキサン(2)に含まれる、重合度が3~10の低分子環状シロキサン(D3~D10)の含有量を表2に示す。
オルガノポリシロキサン(1)、(2)に含まれる不純物(重合度10以下の低分子シロキサン)含有量は、下記条件で求めた。なお、重合度2以下の低分子シロキサンは検出されなかった。

[実施例1~7、比較例1~7]
以下のようにして、ベースコンパウンド(1)~(13)、シリコーンゴム組成物(1)~(14)、試験用シート(1)~(14)を調製した。シリコーンゴムコンパウンド(ベースコンパウンド)、シリコーンゴム硬化物(試験用シート)の各物性は以下のようにして測定した。
以下のようにして、ベースコンパウンド(1)~(13)、シリコーンゴム組成物(1)~(14)、試験用シート(1)~(14)を調製した。シリコーンゴムコンパウンド(ベースコンパウンド)、シリコーンゴム硬化物(試験用シート)の各物性は以下のようにして測定した。
<可塑度測定>
得られたシリコーンゴムコンパウンドを三本ロールにて15回混練りし、その10分後(初期)にウィリアム可塑度を測定し、次いで40℃で1日後の可塑度をそれぞれ測定した。また、初期に対する40℃で1日後の経時変化率を算出した。なお、ウィリアム可塑度は、JIS K 6249:2003に準じて測定した。
得られたシリコーンゴムコンパウンドを三本ロールにて15回混練りし、その10分後(初期)にウィリアム可塑度を測定し、次いで40℃で1日後の可塑度をそれぞれ測定した。また、初期に対する40℃で1日後の経時変化率を算出した。なお、ウィリアム可塑度は、JIS K 6249:2003に準じて測定した。
<ゴム物性測定>
得られたシリコーンゴム硬化物を、JIS K 6249:2003に準じて、各種物性(硬さ(デュロメーターA)、引張強さ、切断時伸び)を測定した。

前記合成例で合成したオルガノポリシロキサン(1)100質量部と前記調製例1で調製した処理シリカ1を35質量部添加した後、ニーダーにて混合し、ベースコンパウンド(1)を調製した(表3)。
該ベースコンパウンド(1)100質量部に対して、硬化剤として側鎖にヒドロシリル基を有するメチルハイドロジェンポリシロキサン(重合度38、ヒドロシリル基が0.00725モル/g)0.9質量部、反応制御剤としてエチニルシクロヘキサノール0.04質量部、白金触媒(Pt濃度1質量%)0.05質量部を二本ロールにて添加し、均一に混合して生ゴム状のシリコーンゴム組成物(1)を製造した後、該組成物を120℃、70kgf/cm2の条件で10分間プレスキュアし、2mm厚の試験用シート(1)を作製し、上記の方法で、硬さ、引張強さ、切断時伸びを測定した。また、該組成物を120℃、70kgf/cm2の条件で15分間プレスキュアして得られた硬化物について、圧縮永久ひずみを測定した。測定結果を表4に示す。

処理シリカ1ではなく、調製例3で調製した処理シリカ3にした以外は、実施例1と同様にベースコンパウンド(4)を調製し(表3)、実施例1と同様の方法でシリコーンゴム組成物(4)を調製した。得られた組成物を用い、実施例1と同様にして試験用シート(4)を作製し、上記と同様の方法で硬さ、引張強さ、切断時伸び、圧縮永久ひずみを測定した。測定結果を表4に示す。
[実施例5]
ベースコンパウンド調製時に、170℃で2時間、ニーダーで熱処理した以外は、実施例1と同様にベースコンパウンド(5)を調製し(表3)、実施例1と同様の方法でシリコーンゴム組成物(5)を調製した。得られた組成物を用い、実施例1と同様にして試験用シート(5)を作製し、上記と同様の方法で硬さ、引張強さ、切断時伸び、圧縮永久ひずみを測定した。測定結果を表4に示す。
ベースコンパウンド調製時に、170℃で2時間、ニーダーで熱処理した以外は、実施例1と同様にベースコンパウンド(5)を調製し(表3)、実施例1と同様の方法でシリコーンゴム組成物(5)を調製した。得られた組成物を用い、実施例1と同様にして試験用シート(5)を作製し、上記と同様の方法で硬さ、引張強さ、切断時伸び、圧縮永久ひずみを測定した。測定結果を表4に示す。
[実施例6]
処理シリカ1ではなく、調製例4で調製した処理シリカ4にした以外は、実施例1と同様にベースコンパウンド(6)を調製し(表3)、実施例1と同様の方法でシリコーンゴム組成物(6)を調製した。得られた組成物を用い、実施例1と同様にして試験用シート(6)を作製し、上記と同様の方法で硬さ、引張強さ、切断時伸び、圧縮永久ひずみを測定した。測定結果を表4に示す。

[実施例7]
ベースコンパウンド(1)100質量部に対して、硬化剤として2,5-ジメチル-2,5-ビス(t-ブチルパーオキシ)ヘキサン0.6質量部を二本ロールにて添加し、均一に混合して生ゴム状のシリコーンゴム組成物(7)を製造した後、該組成物を165℃、70kgf/cm2の条件で10分間プレスキュアし、2mm厚の試験用シート(7)を作製し、上記と同様の方法で硬さ、引張強さ、切断時伸びを測定した。また、該組成物を165℃、70kgf/cm2の条件で15分間プレスキュアして得られた硬化物について、上記と同様の方法で圧縮永久ひずみを測定した。測定結果を表4に示す。
ベースコンパウンド(1)100質量部に対して、硬化剤として2,5-ジメチル-2,5-ビス(t-ブチルパーオキシ)ヘキサン0.6質量部を二本ロールにて添加し、均一に混合して生ゴム状のシリコーンゴム組成物(7)を製造した後、該組成物を165℃、70kgf/cm2の条件で10分間プレスキュアし、2mm厚の試験用シート(7)を作製し、上記と同様の方法で硬さ、引張強さ、切断時伸びを測定した。また、該組成物を165℃、70kgf/cm2の条件で15分間プレスキュアして得られた硬化物について、上記と同様の方法で圧縮永久ひずみを測定した。測定結果を表4に示す。
[比較例1]
処理シリカ1ではなく、比較調製例1で調製した処理シリカ5にした以外は、実施例1と同様にベースコンパウンド(7)を調製し(表3)、実施例1と同様の方法でシリコーンゴム組成物(8)を調製した。得られた組成物を用い、実施例1と同様にして試験用シート(8)を作製し、上記と同様の方法で硬さ、引張強さ、切断時伸び、圧縮永久ひずみを測定した。測定結果を表4に示す。

[比較例6]
オルガノポリシロキサン(1)ではなく、前記比較合成例で合成したオルガノポリシロキサン(2)にした以外は、実施例1と同様にベースコンパウンド(12)を調製し(表3)、実施例1と同様の方法でシリコーンゴム組成物(13)を調製した。得られた組成物を用い、実施例1と同様にして試験用シート(13)を作製し、上記と同様の方法で硬さ、引張強さ、切断時伸び、圧縮永久ひずみを測定した。測定結果を表4に示す。
オルガノポリシロキサン(1)ではなく、前記比較合成例で合成したオルガノポリシロキサン(2)にした以外は、実施例1と同様にベースコンパウンド(12)を調製し(表3)、実施例1と同様の方法でシリコーンゴム組成物(13)を調製した。得られた組成物を用い、実施例1と同様にして試験用シート(13)を作製し、上記と同様の方法で硬さ、引張強さ、切断時伸び、圧縮永久ひずみを測定した。測定結果を表4に示す。
[比較例7]
処理シリカ1ではなく、ヒュームドシリカ(アエロジル200、日本アエロジル(株)製)32質量部、両末端シラノール基を有し、平均重合度4、25℃における粘度が15mPa・sであるジメチルポリシロキサン4質量部、ビニルトリメトキシシラン0.2質量部にした以外は、実施例5と同様にベースコンパウンド(13)を調製し(表3)、実施例1と同様の方法でシリコーンゴム組成物(14)を調製した。得られた組成物を用い、実施例1と同様にして試験用シート(14)を作製し、上記と同様の方法で硬さ、引張強さ、切断時伸び、圧縮永久ひずみを測定した。測定結果を表4に示す。
処理シリカ1ではなく、ヒュームドシリカ(アエロジル200、日本アエロジル(株)製)32質量部、両末端シラノール基を有し、平均重合度4、25℃における粘度が15mPa・sであるジメチルポリシロキサン4質量部、ビニルトリメトキシシラン0.2質量部にした以外は、実施例5と同様にベースコンパウンド(13)を調製し(表3)、実施例1と同様の方法でシリコーンゴム組成物(14)を調製した。得られた組成物を用い、実施例1と同様にして試験用シート(14)を作製し、上記と同様の方法で硬さ、引張強さ、切断時伸び、圧縮永久ひずみを測定した。測定結果を表4に示す。
以下実施例及び比較例で用いたベースコンパウンド(1)~(13)にそれぞれ含まれる、重合度が3~10の低分子環状シロキサン(D3~D10)の量及び、各試験用シート(1)~(14)の低分子シロキサン量を、先に説明した手順で測定した。結果を表5に示す。なお、重合度2以下の低分子シロキサンは検出されなかった。
表4に示した結果から以下のことがわかる。付加反応硬化剤を配合した本発明の実施例1、3~6のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物は、疎水化度が40未満である処理シリカを配合した比較例1のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物より可塑度の変化率が小さく、圧縮永久ひずみが小さいことがわかる。付加反応硬化剤を配合した実施例2のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物は、処理剤として、ビニル基含有アルコキシシランやビニル基含有オルガノシラザンを使用していない処理シリカを配合した比較例3のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物より圧縮永久ひずみが小さいことがわかる。
また、有機過酸化物硬化剤を用いた実施例7のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物は、処理シリカの処理剤として、ビニル基含有アルコキシシランやビニル基含有オルガノシラザンを使用していない処理シリカを配合した比較例5のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物より圧縮永久ひずみが小さいことがわかる。そして、表5に示した結果から、本発明の実施例1~7のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物の各々は、低分子シロキサン成分の含有量が低い硬化物を与えることができたことが分かる。
また、有機過酸化物硬化剤を用いた実施例7のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物は、処理シリカの処理剤として、ビニル基含有アルコキシシランやビニル基含有オルガノシラザンを使用していない処理シリカを配合した比較例5のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物より圧縮永久ひずみが小さいことがわかる。そして、表5に示した結果から、本発明の実施例1~7のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物の各々は、低分子シロキサン成分の含有量が低い硬化物を与えることができたことが分かる。
一方、表4に示した結果から、比較例1のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物は、疎水化度が40未満である処理シリカを配合しているため、可塑度の変化率が実施例よりも大きくなっていた。比較例2~5のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物は、処理シリカの処理剤として、ビニル基含有アルコキシシランやビニル基含有オルガノシラザンを使用していないため、圧縮永久ひずみが大きくなっていた。
表4に示した結果から、比較例6、7のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物は、可塑度変化が小さく圧縮永久ひずみが良好であることが分かる。しかし、表5に示した結果から、低分子シロキサン成分の含有量が多いことが分かる。
なお、本発明は、上記実施形態に限定されるものではない。上記実施形態は例示であり、本発明の特許請求の範囲に記載された技術的思想と実質的に同一な構成を有し、同様な作用効果を奏するものは、いかなるものであっても本発明の技術的範囲に包含される。
Claims (6)
- (A)不純物として含まれる重合度10以下の低分子シロキサンの含有量が1,000ppm未満であり、一分子中に少なくとも2個のアルケニル基を有する、重合度が100以上の下記平均組成式(1)で表されるオルガノポリシロキサン:100質量部、
R1 aSiO(4-a)/2 (1)
(式中、R1は同一又は異種の非置換若しくは置換の1価炭化水素基であり、aは1.95~2.05の正数である。)
(B)疎水化度が40以上であって、ビニル基含有アルコキシシラン及びビニル基含有オルガノシラザンのうちのいずれか、またはその両方で処理されている処理シリカ:5~100質量部、
(C)硬化剤:有効量
を含むものであることを特徴とするミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物。 - 前記(B)成分が、シリカ100質量部に対して、ビニル基が0.0001モル以上となる量の前記ビニル基含有アルコキシシラン及びビニル基含有オルガノシラザンのうちのいずれか、またはその両方で処理された処理シリカであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物。
- 前記(C)成分が、オルガノハイドロジェンポリシロキサンとヒドロシリル化触媒との組み合わせである付加反応硬化剤であることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2に記載のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物。
- 前記(C)成分が有機過酸化物硬化剤であることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項3のいずれか1項に記載のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物。
- 請求項1から請求項4のいずれか1項に記載のミラブル型シリコーンゴム組成物の硬化物であることを特徴とするシリコーンゴム硬化物。
- 前記硬化物中に含まれる重合度10以下の低分子シロキサン成分の合計が、1,000ppm未満であることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のシリコーンゴム硬化物。
