本発明は、生分解性樹脂水系分散体とその製造方法、および生分解性樹脂水系分散体を用いた食品包装用紙に関する。
従来より、耐油性やヒートシール性を有する食品包装用紙が知られている。具体的には、従来の食品包装紙では、例えば、紙にポリプロピレン(PP)やポリエチレン(PE)によるラミネート加工を施すことで、耐油性やヒートシール性を付与している。
一方、近年の環境意識の高まりや海洋プラスチックゴミ問題を背景に、プラスチック代替素材の需要が高まっている。なかでも、プラスチック使用比率が多い食品包装用途での代替が求められており、食品包装用紙においても、生分解性を有し、PPやPEの代替となり得る材料の開発が進められている。
例えば、生分解性を有する材料として、生分解性樹脂水系分散体が提案されている(例えば、特許文献1~5)。これらの生分解性樹脂水系分散体では、分散剤として、静電相互作用により優れたアニオン性化合物が使用されている。
しかしながら、生分解性樹脂水系分散体では、適正なpH域のアニオン性化合物を用いないと、生分解性樹脂の分散性が悪くなり、生分解性樹脂の粒子径が小さくならないため、紙製品へ塗工した場合に、十分なヒートシール性を確保することが難しいという問題があった。そして、特許文献1~5のような従来の生分解性樹脂水系分散体では、アニオン性化合物のpH領域について着目されておらず、適正なpH域でないアニオン性化合物が用いられていたため、安定した分散体を得ることが難しく、ヒートシール性について改善の余地があった。
さらに、生分解性樹脂水系分散体を食品包装用に使用するためには、食品衛生法に基づく食品、添加物等の判断基準、FDA(米国食品医薬品局)の使用許可リストに収録された物質である必要がある。このため、食品包装用の新たな生分解性樹脂水系分散体を開発する場合、使用可能な材料に制約があることも考慮する必要がある。
本発明は、以上のような事情に鑑みてなされたものであり、安定した分散性を有し、生分解性を低下させることがなく、紙製品等のヒートシール性を向上させることができる生分解性樹脂水系分散体とその製造方法を提供することを課題としている。また、生分解性を有し、ヒートシール性に優れた食品包装用紙を提供することを課題としている。
上記の課題を解決するため、本発明の生分解性樹脂水系分散体は、生分解性樹脂とアニオン性化合物とを含有する生分解性樹脂水系分散体であって、前記アニオン性化合物は、1質量%水溶液中のpHが7以上であることを特徴としている。
この生分解性樹脂水系分散体において、前記アニオン性化合物が、構成脂肪酸の炭素数が12~16の脂肪酸塩、テトラデセンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ポリリン酸ナトリウム、カルボキシメチルセルロースナトリウム、アルキルベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウムから選ばれる少なくとも1種であることが好ましい。
この生分解性樹脂水系分散体において、前記アニオン性化合物が、構成脂肪酸の炭素数が12~16の脂肪酸塩、テトラデセンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ポリリン酸ナトリウム、カルボキシメチルセルロースナトリウム、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウムから選ばれる少なくとも1種であることが好ましい。

本発明の生分解性樹脂水系分散体は、前記製造方法によって得られる。
本発明の生分解性樹脂分散体は、安定した分散性を有し、生分解性を低下させることがなく、繊維製品や紙製品等のヒートシール性を向上させることができる。本発明の生分解性樹脂分散体の製造方法は、前記生分解性樹脂分散体を確実に得ることができる。本発明の食品包装用紙は、生分解性を有し、ヒートシール性に優れている。
以下、本発明の生分解性樹脂水系分散体とその製造方法、および食品包装用紙の一実施形態について説明する。
本発明の生分解性樹脂水系分散体(以下、「水系分散体」と記載する場合がある)は、生分解性樹脂とアニオン性化合物(分散剤)とを含有する。
また、本発明の生分解性樹脂水系分散体の製造方法は、溶媒中に、少なくとも、溶解した生分解性樹脂とアニオン性化合物とを分散させて分散液を得る分散工程を含む。
生分解性樹脂は、特に限定されないが、例えば、ポリ乳酸、乳酸と他のヒドロキシカルボン酸との共重合体、ポリブチレンサクシネート、ポリブチレンサクシネートアジペート、ポリエチレンサクシネート、ポリブチレンアジペート等の二塩基酸ポリエステル、ポリカプロラクトン、カプロラクトンと他のヒドロキシカルボン酸との共重合体、ポリヒドロキシブチレート、ポリヒドロキシブチレートと他のヒドロキシカルボン酸との共重合体、ポリヒドロキシ酪酸、ポリヒドロキシ酪酸と他のヒドロキシカルボン酸との共重合体等が挙げられる。これらは、単独又は2種以上を混合して用いることができる。なかでも、樹脂の耐熱性、耐水性、耐溶剤性、光沢等の観点から、生分解性樹脂は、ポリ乳酸、乳酸と他のヒドロキシカルボン酸との共重合体、ポリブチレンサクシネート、ポリブチレンサクシネートアジペート、ポリカプロラクトンであることが好ましく、ポリ乳酸であることがより好ましい。
ポリ乳酸としては、D-乳酸含有率が、1~30モル%であることが好ましく、5~20モル%であることがより好ましい。
また、生分解性樹脂の数平均分子量は、5000~100万の範囲内であること好ましく、1万~30万の範囲内であることがより好ましい。
乳酸と他のヒドロキシカルボン酸との共重合体について、他のヒドロキシカルボン酸としては、グリコール酸、2-ヒドロキシ酪酸、2-ヒドロキシバレリン酸、2-ヒドロキシカプロン酸、2-ヒドロキシヘプタン酸、2-ヒドロキシオクタン酸、2-ヒドロキシ-2-メチルプロピオン酸、2-ヒドロキシ-2-メチル酪酸、2-ヒドロキシ-2-エチル酪酸、2-ヒドロキシ-2-メチルバレリン酸、2-ヒドロキシ-2-エチルバレリン酸、2-ヒドロキシ-2-プロピルバレリン酸、2-ヒドロキシ-2-ブチルバレリン酸、2-ヒドロキシ-2-メチルカプロン酸、2-ヒドロキシ-2-エチルカプロン酸、2-ヒドロキシ-2-プロピルカプロン酸、2-ヒドロキシ-2-ブチルカプロン酸、2-ヒドロキシ-2-ペンチルカプロン酸、2-ヒドロキシ-2-メチルヘプタン酸、2-ヒドロキシ-2-エチルヘプタン酸、2-ヒドロキシ-2-プロピルヘプタン酸、2-ヒドロキシ-2-ブチルヘプタン酸、2-ヒドロキシ-2-メチルオクタン酸、3-ヒドロキシプロピオン酸、4-ヒドロキシ酪酸、5-ヒドロキシバレリン酸、6-ヒドロキシカプロン酸、7-ヒドロキシヘプタン酸等が挙げられる。
乳酸およびヒドロキシカルボン酸は、D体、L体、D/L体などの形態をとる場合があるが、いずれの形態であってもよく、制限はない。
アニオン性化合物は、1質量%水溶液中のpHが7以上である。具体的には、アニオン性化合物は、1質量%水溶液中のpHが7~11であることが好ましく、pH8~10であることがより好ましく、pH9~10であることがさらに好ましい。この範囲を満たすアニオン性化合物を選択すると、分散工程における分散液のpHが適切に調整されることで、ゼータ電位が適切な値となりやすくなり、結果、分散安定性などを一層高めることができる。このため、生分解性樹脂水系分散液を用いて得た紙製品等の耐水性、ヒートシール性を向上させることができる。一方、アニオン性化合物の1質量%水溶液中のpHが7未満であると、ゼータ電位が適切な値の範囲から外れることで、粒子間の反発力が弱くなり凝集してしまい、分散液の安定性が低下する。
アニオン性化合物は、特に限定されないが、例えば、構成脂肪酸の炭素数が12~16の脂肪酸塩、テトラデセンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ポリリン酸ナトリウム、カルボキシメチルセルロースナトリウム、アルキルベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウム等が挙げられる。なかでも、分散安定性に優れる点で、テトラデセンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ポリリン酸ナトリウム、カルボキシメチルセルロースナトリウム、アルキルベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウムが好ましく、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウムがより好ましい。
生分解性樹脂水系分散液を用いて得た紙製品等のヒートシール性を向上させる点では、構成脂肪酸の炭素数が12~16の脂肪酸塩、テトラデセンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ポリリン酸ナトリウム、カルボキシメチルセルロースナトリウム、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウムから選ばれる少なくとも1種であることが好ましく、構成脂肪酸の炭素数が12~16の脂肪酸塩、テトラデセンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウムから選ばれる少なくとも1種であることがより好ましく、構成脂肪酸の炭素数が12~16の脂肪酸塩、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウムから選ばれる少なくとも1種であることがさらに好ましい。
生分解性樹脂水系分散液を用いて得た紙製品等のヒートシール性を向上させる点では、構成脂肪酸の炭素数が12~16の脂肪酸塩、テトラデセンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ポリリン酸ナトリウム、カルボキシメチルセルロースナトリウム、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウムから選ばれる少なくとも1種であることが好ましく、構成脂肪酸の炭素数が12~16の脂肪酸塩、テトラデセンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウムから選ばれる少なくとも1種であることがより好ましく、構成脂肪酸の炭素数が12~16の脂肪酸塩、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウムから選ばれる少なくとも1種であることがさらに好ましい。
アニオン性化合物の重量平均分子量は、100~2500万の範囲を例示することができるが、生分解性樹脂水系分散体の分散安定性と、増粘抑制の観点から、1万~2000万であることが好ましく、10万~1000万であることがより好ましい。なお、重量平均分子量は、例えば、ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー(GPC)によって、分子量が既知の標準物質と比較することにより求めることができる。
アニオン性化合物の含有量は、生分解性樹脂の含有量に対して、0.01~5.0質量%であることが好ましい。より好ましくは0.01~2.0質量%、さらに好ましくは0.01~1.0質量%、特に好ましくは0.01~0.8質量%である。0.01質量%以上であると、分散安定性などの効果がより向上し、5.0質量%以下であると、水系分散体の安定した粘度コントロールが容易になるとともに、この生分解性樹脂水系分散液を用いて得た紙製品等の耐水性、ヒートシール性を向上させることができる。
生分解性樹脂水系分散体には、必要に応じて、上述したアニオン性化合物以外の界面活性剤、可塑剤、粘度調整剤などを添加することができる。
前記アニオン性化合物以外の界面活性剤としては、アニオン性界面活性剤、カチオン性界面活性剤、非イオン界面活性剤、両性界面活性剤、高分子界面活性剤等が挙げられる。
アニオン性界面活性剤としては、特に限定されないが、例えば、脂肪酸塩、高級アルコール硫酸エステル塩、液体脂肪油硫酸エステル塩、脂肪族アミンおよび脂肪族アマイドの硫酸塩、脂肪アルコールリン酸エステル塩、アルキルベンゼンスルホン酸塩、脂肪族アミドスルホン酸塩、二塩基脂肪酸エステルのスルホン酸塩等が挙げられる。
カチオン性界面活性剤としては、例えば、アルキルアミン塩類、第四級アンモニウム塩類、アルキルピリジニウム塩、脂肪酸トリエタノールアミンモノエステル塩、アルキルポリオキシエチレンアミン等が挙げられる。
非イオン系界面活性剤としては、例えば、ポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテル、ポリオキシエチレンアルキルフェノールエーテル、ポリオキシエチレンアルキルエステル、ソルビタンアルキルエステル、ポリオキシエチレンソルビタンアルキルエステル等が挙げられる。
高分子界面活性剤としては、アニオン性高分子、カチオン性高分子、非イオン高分子、両性高分子等が挙げられる。これらの高分子界面活性剤は、水溶性であってよく、例えば、ポリアクリル酸塩、ポリメタクリル酸塩、ポリアクリルアミド、アクリル酸・メタクリル酸アルキル共重合体、アクリル酸塩・アクリルアミド共重合体、メタクリル酸塩・アクリルアミド共重合体、ジイソブチレン・マレイン酸共重合体、アルキルビニルエーテル・マレイン酸共重合体、マレイン化ポリブテン、マレイン化ポリブタジエン、ポリメチルビニルエーテル、ポリビニルピロリドン、ポリスチレンスルホン酸塩、カチオン化セルロース、カルボキシメチルセルロース、アルギン酸塩、ポリビニルアルコール等が挙げられる。これらのなかでも、安全性、供給面の点で、非イオン高分子が好ましい。
生分解性樹脂水系分散体は、分散安定化剤として、非イオン高分子であるポリビニルアルコールを含むことが好ましい。ポリビニルアルコールは、鹸化度70~90%であることが好ましく、数平均分子量は、5~30万であることが好ましい。ポリビニルアルコールの鹸化度は、ポリビニルアルコールの水酸基価から算出することができる。ポリビニルアルコールを配合することで、生分解性樹脂粒子を溶媒に安定に分散させることができる。
(A)アニオン性化合物(分散剤)と(B)ポリビニルアルコール(分散安定化剤)との質量比(A/B)は、1/2~1/99の範囲内であることが好ましい。より好ましくは1/5~1/99の範囲内であり、さらに好ましくは1/10~1/99の範囲内である。質量比(A/B)がこの範囲内であると、分散が容易となり、分散後の安定性も向上するため、生分解性樹脂水系分散液を用いて得た紙製品等の耐水性、ヒートシール性を向上させることができる。
また、(A)アニオン性化合物(分散剤)と(B)ポリビニルアルコール(分散安定化剤)の合計質量は、生分解性樹脂の質量に対して、0.1~20質量%の範囲内であることが好ましい。より好ましくは0.5~20質量%であり、さらに好ましくは1~20質量%の範囲内である。(A)アニオン性化合物と(B)ポリビニルアルコールの合計質量が0.1質量%以上であると、均一な攪拌・分散が容易となり、また20質量%以下であると、分散剤を過剰に添加することによる非効率性を低減できるとともに耐水性への影響が小さく抑えることができる。
そして、(A)アニオン性化合物(分散剤)と(B)ポリビニルアルコール(分散安定化剤)と生分解性樹脂との合計質量は、水に対しての質量比として、2/8~/6/4の範囲内であることも好ましい。この質量比が2/8以上であると、生分解性樹脂が高含量となるため効率的であり、6/4以下であると、均一な攪拌・分散が容易となり、水系分散体の安定性も向上する。このため、生分解性樹脂水系分散液を用いて得た紙製品等の耐水性、ヒートシール性を向上させることができる。
可塑剤としては、クエン酸トリエチル、クエン酸トリブチル、アセチルクエン酸トリエチル、アセチルクエン酸トリブチル等のクエン酸誘導体、ジエチレングリコールジアセテート、トリエチレングリコールジアセテート、トリエチレングリコールジプロピオネート等のエーテルエステル誘導体、グリセリントリアセテート、グリセリントリプロピオネート、グリセリントリブチレート等のグリセリン誘導体、エチルフタリルエチルグリコレート、エチルフタリルブチルグリコレート、ブチルフタリルブチルグリコレート等のフタル酸誘導体、アジピン酸と2-(2エトキシメトキシ)エタノールおよびベンジルアルコールの混合エステル、アジピン酸と1,4-ブタンジオールとの縮合体等のアジピン酸誘導体、ポリカプロラクトン、ポリプロピオラクトン等のポリヒドロキシカルボン酸等が挙げられる。これらのうち、アジピン酸誘導体、フタル酸誘導体を用いたものが、造膜性向上効果が高い点で特に好ましい。可塑剤の添加量は、生分解性樹脂100重量部あたり5~40重量部であることが好ましい。5重量部以上であると可塑化効果がより発揮でき、40重量部以下であると可塑剤のブリードアウトが発生するのを抑制できる。
粘度調整剤としては、メチルセルロース、カルボキシメチルセルロース、ヒドロキシエチルセルロース、ヒドロキシエチルメチルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロース等のセルロース誘導体、カチオン化澱粉、エーテル化澱粉等の澱粉誘導体、アラビアガム、グアーガム、キサンタンガム等の植物ガム、カゼイン、キトサン、キチン等の動物性高分子等が挙げられ、なかでも、グアーガム、アラビアガム、キサンタンガムが好ましい。粘度調整剤の添加量は、生分解性樹脂に対して0.05~1.0質量%であることが好ましい。0.05質量%以上であると、粘度調整効果が向上し、1.0質量%以下であると、水系分散体の安定した粘度コントロールが容易となる。
好ましい実施形態の一つにおいて、生分解性樹脂水系分散体は、分散安定化剤である鹸化度70~90%のポリビニルアルコールと、粘度調整剤であるグアーガム、アラビアガム、キサンタンガムから選ばれる少なくとも1種とを含有し、アニオン性化合物(A)に対するポリビニルアルコール(B)の質量比(A/B)が1/2~1/99の範囲内であり、粘度調整剤の添加量は、前記生分解性樹脂に対して0.05~1.0質量%である。ポリビニルアルコール(B)に関する好ましい例は前記のとおりである。
好ましい実施形態の一つにおいて、生分解性樹脂水系分散体は、分散安定化剤である鹸化度70~90%のポリビニルアルコールと、粘度調整剤であるグアーガム、アラビアガム、キサンタンガムから選ばれる少なくとも1種とを含有し、アニオン性化合物(A)に対するポリビニルアルコール(B)の質量比(A/B)が1/2~1/99の範囲内であり、粘度調整剤の添加量は、前記生分解性樹脂に対して0.05~1.0質量%である。ポリビニルアルコール(B)に関する好ましい例は前記のとおりである。
生分解性樹脂水系分散体の粘度は、0.1~10Pa・sの範囲内であることが好ましい。0.1Pa・s以上、10Pa・s以下であることが好ましい。例えば、生分解性樹脂水系分散体の粘度が、0.1Pa・s未満では、相分離、樹脂粒子の不均一化や沈降などにより良好な分散状態を維持することが難しくなり、ホモミキサーや高圧乳化機等の分散装置を用いるなど強い攪拌が必要となる恐れがある。この強い攪拌では、強い剪断力が加わり分散粒子上に吸着した分散剤分子が剥離し、結果として粒径分布が広くなったり、分散そのものが困難となるおそれもある。一方、生分解性樹脂水系分散体の粘度が、10Pa・s超であると溶液粘度が高くなり過ぎるため、良好な分散ができなくなるおそれがある。
なお、本発明の生分解性樹脂水系分散体には、表面平滑性、撥水性、離型性等を改善するために、天然ワックス、合成ワックス等のワックス類を含有させることができる。天然ワックスとしては、キャンデリラワックス、カルナバワックス、ライスワックス、木ろう、ホホバ固体ろう等の植物系天然ワックス、みつろう、ラノリン、鯨ろう等の動物系天然ワックス、モンタンワックス、オゾケライト、セレシン等の鉱物系天然ワックス、パラフィンワックス、マイクロクリスタリンワックス、ペトロラタムワックス等の石油系天然ワックス等が挙げられる。また、合成ワックスとしては、フィッシャー・トロプシュワックス、ポリエチレンワックス等の合成炭化水素類、モタンタンワックス誘導体、パラフィンワックス誘導体、マイクロクリスタリンワックス誘導体等の変性ワックス、硬化ひまし油、硬化ひまし油誘導体等の水素化ワックス、12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸、ステアリン酸アミド、無水フタル酸イミド等が挙げられる。
生分解性樹脂水系分散体に含まれる生分解性樹脂は、粒子状であり、粒子の平均粒径は0.1~500μmの範囲内が好ましく、0.5~50μmの範囲内がより好ましく、0.5~10μmの範囲内がさらに好ましい。
次に、本発明の生分解性樹脂水系分散体の製造方法の一実施形態について説明する。
本発明の生分解性樹脂水系分散体の製造方法は、溶媒中に、少なくとも、溶解した生分解性樹脂とアニオン性化合物とを分散させて分散液を得る分散工程を含む。
上述したように、アニオン性化合物は、1質量%水溶液中のpHが7以上である。
分散工程の分散液は、例えば、溶媒と、生分解性樹脂と、アニオン性化合物と、必要に応じて、その他の材料とともに混合攪拌することで得ることができる。
具体的には、第1に、例えば、攪拌装置を有する密閉槽を用い、生分解性樹脂、アニオン性化合物、ポリビニルアルコール、粘度調整剤および水を同時に仕込み、加熱攪拌しながら加圧して生分解性樹脂を分散させる加圧分散法を例示することができる。
第2に、加圧下で保持されている熱水中に、生分解性樹脂、アニオン性化合物、必要に応じて、ポリビニルアルコール、さらに粘度調整剤を含む溶融物を添加攪拌して分散させる直接分散法を例示することができる。
第3に、生分解性樹脂を加熱溶融させ、これにアニオン性化合物、必要に応じて、ポリビニルアルコール、さらに粘度調整剤を含む水溶液を添加攪拌して生分解性樹脂を水に分散させる転相法を例示することができる。
第4に、有機溶媒、水、生分解性樹脂、アニオン性化合物、必要に応じて、ポリビニルアルコール、さらに粘度調整剤を添加攪拌して分散させた後、有機溶媒を除去する方法を例示することができる。
第5に、生分解性樹脂の有機溶媒溶液中に、アニオン性化合物、必要に応じて、ポリビニルアルコール、さらに粘度調整剤を含む水溶液を添加攪拌して分散させた後、有機溶媒を除去する方法を例示することができる。
第1~第5の方法以外の方法でも、生分解性樹脂の水系分散体を得ることができる方法であれば適宜採用することができる。
より具体的には、生分解性樹脂の幅広い種類に適応が可能な点、加水分解の進行などを考慮すると、分散液を得る方法としては、例えば、攪拌装置を有する密閉槽に、有機溶媒、水、生分解性樹脂、アニオン性化合物、必要に応じて、ポリビニルアルコール、さらに粘度調整剤を仕込み、攪拌しながら昇温し、固体原料を溶解、分散させた後、冷却し、その後、減圧下に有機溶媒を除去する方法であることが好ましい。
また、攪拌装置を有する密閉槽に、有機溶媒、生分解性樹脂を仕込み攪拌昇温し溶解した生分解性樹脂溶解溶液に、別の攪拌槽に水、アニオン性化合物、必要に応じて、ポリビニルアルコール、さらに粘度調整剤を仕込み、溶解した水溶液を密閉槽に添加し、攪拌、樹脂溶解温度以上に昇温しながら分散させた後、冷却し、その後、減圧下に有機溶媒を除去する方法であることが好ましい。
これらの方法において、有機溶媒としては、蟻酸メチル、蟻酸エチル、蟻酸プロピル、蟻酸ブチル等の蟻酸エステル類、酢酸メチル、酢酸エチル、酢酸プロピル、酢酸ブチル等の酢酸エステル類の如きエステル系有機溶媒、クロロホルム、四塩化炭素等の塩素系有機溶媒、ベンゼン、トルエン、キシレン等の芳香族炭化水素等が挙げられるが、樹脂の溶解性が良好なエステル系有機溶媒が好ましく、特に蟻酸エステル類、酢酸エステル類が好ましい。
本発明の生分解性樹脂水系分散体の製造方法では、分散工程の分散液のpHが4~9であり、4~6であることが好ましい。pHをこの範囲内とすることで、ゼータ電位が適切な値となりやすくなり、ポリマー粒子同士が適度に反発するなどして、結果、安定した分散性を有する生分解性樹脂水系分散体を得ることができる。具体的には、生分解性樹脂水系分散体のゼータ電位は、好ましくは-30mV以下、より好ましくは-40mV以下である。基本的にはこれらの値以下のゼータ電位であれば、経時安定性が一層良好となる。ゼータ電位の下限は特にないが、通常の調製においては例えば-50mV以上である。また、転相乳化後に有機溶剤を除去し、溶剤残存量を1000ppm以下とすることが好ましい。
本発明の生分解性樹脂分散体は、安定した分散性を有し、生分解性を低下させることがなく、繊維製品や紙製品等へ塗工した際の紙製品等のヒートシール性を向上させることができる。このため、産業上、各種用途で極めて有用かつ実用的に利用することが可能である。
本発明の生分解性樹脂分散体が使用される用途は特に限定されないが、例えば、食品包装用紙が挙げられる。本発明の生分解性樹脂分散体は、その他、液晶表示装置用スペーサー、トナー用添加剤、電子写真現像用トナー、塗料等のレオロジー改質剤・添加剤、粉体塗料用材料、自動車材料、建築材料等の成形品への機械特性改良剤、フィルム、紙、繊維等の機械特性改良剤、ラピッドプロトタイピング、ラピッドマニュファクチャリング等の樹脂成形体用原料、フラッシュ成形用材料、プラスティックゾル用ペーストレジン、粉ブロッキング材、粉体の流動性・平滑性向上剤、潤滑剤、ゴム配合剤、研磨剤、増粘剤、濾剤および濾過助剤、ゲル化剤、凝集剤、吸油剤、離型剤、プラスティックフィルム・シートの滑り性向上剤、ブロッキング防止剤、光沢調節剤、つや消し仕上げ剤、光拡散剤、表面高硬度向上剤、靭性向上剤、クロマトグラフィー用充填剤、マイクロカプセル用助剤、ドラッグデリバリーシステム・診断薬等の医療用材料、医療用診断検査剤、香料・農薬の保持剤、化学反応用触媒およびその担持体、ガス吸着剤、イオン交換樹脂、セラミック加工用焼結材、測定・分析用の標準粒子、食品工業分野用の粒子等に用いることができる。
本発明の生分解性樹脂水系分散体とその製造方法、および生分解性樹脂水系分散体を用いた食品包装用紙は、以上の実施形態に限定されるものではない。
以下、実施例とともに、本発明の生分解性樹脂水系分散体などについて詳しく説明するが、本発明は以下の実施例に限定されるものではない。
1.生分解性樹脂分散体の調製
実施例および比較例において、生分解性樹脂、1質量%水溶液中のpHが7以上であるアニオン性化合物(分散剤(A))、または前記アニオン性化合物以外の界面活性剤(分散剤(A))、ポリビニルアルコール(分散安定化剤(B))、粘度調整剤として次のものを用いた。
〔生分解性樹脂〕
生分解性樹脂A:ポリ乳酸
生分解性樹脂B:ポリブチレンサクシネート
生分解性樹脂C:ポリブチレンサクシネートアジペート
生分解性樹脂D:ポリカプロラクトン
〔1質量%水溶液中のpHが7以上であるアニオン性化合物〕
アニオン性化合物A:ポリアクリル酸ナトリウム(重量平均分子量50万)
アニオン性化合物B:ポリアクリル酸ナトリウム(重量平均分子量300万~500万)
アニオン性化合物C:脂肪酸(C12,14,16)ナトリウム
アニオン性高分子化合物D:テトラデセンスルホン酸ナトリウム
アニオン性化合物E:ポリリン酸ナトリウム
アニオン性化合物F:カルボキシメチルセルロースナトリウム
アニオン性化合物G:アルキルベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウム
〔前記アニオン性化合物以外の界面活性剤(アニオン性化合物)〕
アニオン性化合物H:ポリアクリルアミド-アクリル酸ナトリウム(重量平均分子量1600万~1700万)
アニオン性化合物I:アクリルアミド-メタクリル酸共重合体(重量平均分子量2000万)
アニオン性化合物J:メタクリル酸-アクリルアミド(重量平均分子量400万)
アニオン性化合物K:アルギン酸ナトリウム
〔ポリビニルアルコール〕
ポリビニルアルコールA:鹸化度80%、数平均分子量10万
ポリビニルアルコールB:鹸化度99%、数平均分子量9万
〔粘度調整剤〕
粘度調整剤A:キサンタンガム(DSP五協フード&ケミカル(株)製、エコーガム)
粘度調整剤B:グァーガム(三栄源エフ・エフ・アイ(株)製、ビストップD20)
粘度調整剤C:アラビアガム(三栄薬品貿易(株)製、アラビックコールSS)
実施例および比較例において、生分解性樹脂、1質量%水溶液中のpHが7以上であるアニオン性化合物(分散剤(A))、または前記アニオン性化合物以外の界面活性剤(分散剤(A))、ポリビニルアルコール(分散安定化剤(B))、粘度調整剤として次のものを用いた。
〔生分解性樹脂〕
生分解性樹脂A:ポリ乳酸
生分解性樹脂B:ポリブチレンサクシネート
生分解性樹脂C:ポリブチレンサクシネートアジペート
生分解性樹脂D:ポリカプロラクトン
〔1質量%水溶液中のpHが7以上であるアニオン性化合物〕
アニオン性化合物A:ポリアクリル酸ナトリウム(重量平均分子量50万)
アニオン性化合物B:ポリアクリル酸ナトリウム(重量平均分子量300万~500万)
アニオン性化合物C:脂肪酸(C12,14,16)ナトリウム
アニオン性高分子化合物D:テトラデセンスルホン酸ナトリウム

〔粘度調整剤〕
粘度調整剤A:キサンタンガム(DSP五協フード&ケミカル(株)製、エコーガム)
粘度調整剤B:グァーガム(三栄源エフ・エフ・アイ(株)製、ビストップD20)
粘度調整剤C:アラビアガム(三栄薬品貿易(株)製、アラビックコールSS)
<実施例1~15、比較例1~4>
表1、表2に示した成分割合で、密閉分散槽に仕込み、生分解性樹脂A、C、Dを用いた場合は65℃、生分解性樹脂Bを用いた場合は120℃に加熱して、所定の攪拌分散装置を用いた分散方法によって1時間分散後、40℃まで急冷した。その後、減圧下に酢酸エチルを除去して生分解性樹脂水系分散体を得た。
表1、表2に示した成分割合で、密閉分散槽に仕込み、生分解性樹脂A、C、Dを用いた場合は65℃、生分解性樹脂Bを用いた場合は120℃に加熱して、所定の攪拌分散装置を用いた分散方法によって1時間分散後、40℃まで急冷した。その後、減圧下に酢酸エチルを除去して生分解性樹脂水系分散体を得た。
また、生分解性樹脂水系分散体の調製時の分散工程中(混合攪拌時における加熱分散、冷却後)および水系分散体(酢酸エチル除去後)の粘度、安定性について、以下のようにして測定、評価を行った。
〔pH〕
株式会社堀場製作所製、ガラス電極式水素濃度計、pH METER 9615S-10Dを用いて25℃で測定した。
〔ゼータ電位(mV)〕
各生分解性樹脂水系分散体に水を添加して固形分1質量%に希釈したものについて、マルバーン社製、ゼータサイザーナノZS測定装置を用いてゼータ電位を測定した。なお、測定は25℃で行った。
〔平均粒径(μm)〕
粒子の平均粒径、レーザー回折型粒度分布測定装置(島津製作所(株)製、SALD-2300型、屈折率1.45-0.00i)を用いて測定した。
〔遠心分離〕
KUBOTA製 テーブルトップ遠心機Model 4000を用いて、3500rpm、20分間遠心分離を実施した。その後、得られたサンプルの分離具合を、◎:分離10%未満、〇:分離10%以上~30%未満、△:分離30%以上~50%未満、×:50%以上の4段階で評価した。
〔安定性試験:25℃静置〕
各生分解性樹脂水系分散体を100mlガラス容器に入れ、25℃恒温槽にて保管した。保管14日後の分離具合を、◎:分離10%未満、〇:分離10%以上~30%未満、△:分離30%以上~50%未満、×:50%以上の4段階で評価した。
〔安定性試験:40℃静置〕
各生分解性樹脂水系分散体を100mlガラス容器に入れ、40℃恒温槽にて保管した。保管14日後の分離具合を、◎:分離10%未満、〇:分離10%以上~30%未満、△:分離30%以上~50%未満、×:50%以上の4段階で評価した。
〔ヒートシール性:剥離強度(N/m)〕
25mm×200mmの小辺に切り出したクラフト紙(坪量70g/m2)の25mm×150mmの部分に、上記実施例1~15及び比較例1~4の水系分散体を、バーコーターNo.20で塗工し、25℃、40%RHで24時間乾燥後、試験片2枚を塗工面が貼り合わさるようフェロ版に挟み、株式会社羽島製全自動転写プレス:HP-84にて180℃、300g/cm2の条件にて3分間プレスすることで試験片を得た。得られた試験片を1日静置後、JISK6854-3に準じ、株式会社東洋精機製引張試験機:ストログラフE3を用いて、引張速度10mm/分で、剥離強度(N/m)を測定した。
〔耐水性試験〕
130mm×130mmの小辺に切り出したクラフト紙(坪量70g/m2)に、上記実施例1~15及び比較例1~4の水系分散体を、バーコーターNo.20で塗工し、25℃、40%RHで24時間乾燥後、株式会社羽島製全自動転写プレス:HP-84にて180℃、300g/cm2の条件にて3分間プレスすることで試験片を得た。耐水性の評価はJIS-P-8140に準拠し、吸水量(g/m2)で判断した。
評価基準 ◎:0~5、〇5~10、△10~20、×:20以上。
〔pH〕
株式会社堀場製作所製、ガラス電極式水素濃度計、pH METER 9615S-10Dを用いて25℃で測定した。
〔ゼータ電位(mV)〕
各生分解性樹脂水系分散体に水を添加して固形分1質量%に希釈したものについて、マルバーン社製、ゼータサイザーナノZS測定装置を用いてゼータ電位を測定した。なお、測定は25℃で行った。

〔遠心分離〕

25mm×200mmの小辺に切り出したクラフト紙(坪量70g/m2)の25mm×150mmの部分に、上記実施例1~15及び比較例1~4の水系分散体を、バーコーターNo.20で塗工し、25℃、40%RHで24時間乾燥後、試験片2枚を塗工面が貼り合わさるようフェロ版に挟み、株式会社羽島製全自動転写プレス:HP-84にて180℃、300g/cm2の条件にて3分間プレスすることで試験片を得た。得られた試験片を1日静置後、JISK6854-3に準じ、株式会社東洋精機製引張試験機:ストログラフE3を用いて、引張速度10mm/分で、剥離強度(N/m)を測定した。
〔耐水性試験〕

評価基準 ◎:0~5、〇5~10、△10~20、×:20以上。
結果を表1A~1C、表2、及び表3に示す。
表1A、表1B、に示したように、1質量%水溶液中のpHが7以上であるアニオン性化合物を含む生分解性樹脂水系分散体であり、分散工程の分散液のpHが4以上である実施例1~15では、安定性、ヒートシール性に優れていることが確認された。
一方、1質量%水溶液中のpHが7未満であるアニオン性化合物を含む生分解性樹脂水系分散体であり、分散工程の分散液のpHが4未満である比較例1~4では、安定性、ヒートシール性が十分でないことが確認された。
また、表3に示したように、1質量%水溶液中のpHが7以上であるアニオン性化合物を含む生分解性樹脂水系分散体の中でも、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウムを含む生分解性樹脂水系分散体を塗工したクラフト紙において、耐水性の向上が認められた。
また、表3に示したように、1質量%水溶液中のpHが7以上であるアニオン性化合物を含む生分解性樹脂水系分散体の中でも、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウムを含む生分解性樹脂水系分散体を塗工したクラフト紙において、耐水性の向上が認められた。
Claims (10)
- 生分解性樹脂とアニオン性化合物とを含有する生分解性樹脂水系分散体であって、前記アニオン性化合物は、1質量%水溶液中のpHが7以上であることを特徴とする生分解性樹脂水系分散体。
- 前記アニオン性化合物が、構成脂肪酸の炭素数が12~16の脂肪酸塩、テトラデセンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ポリリン酸ナトリウム、カルボキシメチルセルロースナトリウム、アルキルベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウムから選ばれる少なくとも1種であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の生分解性樹脂水系分散体。
- 前記アニオン性化合物が、構成脂肪酸の炭素数が12~16の脂肪酸塩、テトラデセンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ポリリン酸ナトリウム、カルボキシメチルセルロースナトリウム、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウムから選ばれる少なくとも1種であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の生分解性樹脂水系分散体。
- 前記アニオン性化合物が、構成脂肪酸の炭素数が12~16の脂肪酸塩、テトラデセンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウムから選ばれる少なくとも1種であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の生分解性樹脂水系分散体。
- 前記アニオン性化合物が、構成脂肪酸の炭素数が12~16の脂肪酸塩、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウムから選ばれる少なくとも1種であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の生分解性樹脂水系分散体。
- 前記アニオン性化合物の重量平均分子量が、1万~2000万であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の生分解性樹脂水系分散体。
- 分散安定化剤である鹸化度70~90%のポリビニルアルコールと、粘度調整剤であるグアーガム、アラビアガム、キサンタンガムから選ばれる少なくとも1種とを含有し、
前記アニオン性化合物(A)に対する前記ポリビニルアルコール(B)の質量比(A/B)が1/2~1/99の範囲内であり、
前記粘度調整剤の添加量は、前記生分解性樹脂に対して0.05~1.0質量%であることを特徴とする請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の生分解性樹脂水系分散体。 - 前記生分解性樹脂が、ポリ乳酸であることを特徴とする請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の生分解性樹脂水系分散体。
- 請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の生分解性樹脂水系分散体を用いた食品包装用紙。
- 生分解性樹脂とアニオン性化合物とを含有する生分解性樹脂水系分散体の製造方法であって、
溶媒中に、少なくとも、溶解した前記生分解性樹脂と前記アニオン性化合物とを分散させて分散液を得る分散工程を含み、
前記アニオン性化合物は、1質量%水溶液中のpHが7以上であり、
前記分散工程の前記分散液のpHが4~9であることを特徴とする生分解性樹脂水系分散体の製造方法。
