Abstract
Description
例えば、特許文献1には、布帛類を構成するセルロース繊維を銅カルボキシメチル化又は亜鉛カルボキシメチル化して、布帛類を構成するセルロース繊維に消臭性を与えるという技術が記載されている。
また、特許文献2には、悪臭を吸収し易く、特に硫化水素系の悪臭、にんにく臭などの消臭効果があるセルロース系の消臭シートとして、銅、亜鉛などの金属イオンで置換されたカルボキシル基(以下「金属置換カルボキシル基」と称することがある。)が導入された改質セルロース繊維の微粉末をセルロースパルプ中に含有せしめた層を有する消臭シートが開示されている。
しかしながら、特許文献1に記載された技術では、セルロース繊維を用いた布帛類の染色性を考慮しているため、消臭性については未だ満足の行くものではなかった。
また、特許文献2に記載された技術であっても、消臭シートの単位使用量当りの消臭性については未だ満足の行くものではなかった。
また、特許文献2に記載の技術では、バルク状の漂白パルプに対して金属置換カルボキシル基を導入した後に当該漂白パルプを粉砕して改質セルロース繊維を得ているため、各改質セルロース繊維に金属置換カルボキシル基を十分に導入することができず、十分な消臭性を得ることができなかった。

前記第2の金属が、アルミニウム、カルシウム、鉄、コバルト、銅、亜鉛および銀よりなる群から選択される少なくとも1種である、前記10~16のいずれかに記載の消臭剤の製造方法。
ここで、本発明の消臭剤は、生活環境などで発生する臭いの消臭(または脱臭)に用いられるものであり、ナトリウム以外の金属を塩の形で含有し且つ数平均繊維径が100nm以下の含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーを含むことを特徴とする。そして、本発明の消臭剤は、本発明の消臭剤の製造方法を用いて製造することができる。そこで、以下、本発明の消臭剤の製造方法、および、当該製造方法を用いて製造し得る、本発明の消臭剤について順次説明する。
なお、本発明の消臭剤は、特に限定されることなく、例えば、アンモニア、メチルメルカプタン、硫化水素などの消臭に使用することができる。
本発明の消臭剤の製造方法の一例は、ナトリウム以外の金属を塩の形で含有し且つ数平均繊維径が100nm以下の含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーを含む消臭剤を製造する方法である。そして、この一例の製造方法では、第1の金属を塩の形で含有する酸化セルロースナノファイバーを原料として用い、下記の(i)または(ii)の方法を使用して酸化セルロースナノファイバーの第1の金属のイオンを第2の金属のイオンで置換することにより、第2の金属を塩の形で含有し、且つ、数平均繊維径が100nm以下である含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーを製造する。なお、本発明において、第2の金属は、第1の金属以外の金属を意味する。
(i)第1の金属を塩の形で含有する酸化セルロースナノファイバーを、溶媒に分散させた状態で、第2の金属の塩と接触させる方法(第一の製造方法)。
(ii)第1の金属を塩の形で含有する酸化セルロースナノファイバーを、溶媒に分散させた状態で、強酸と接触させ、塩の形で含まれる第1の金属のイオンを水素原子に置換し、その後、第1の金属のイオンを水素原子に置換した酸化セルロースナノファイバーを、溶媒に分散させた状態で、第2の金属の塩と接触させる方法(第二の製造方法)。
ここで、上記した第一の製造方法では、第1の金属を塩の形で含有する酸化セルロースナノファイバーを、溶媒に分散させた状態で、第2の金属の塩と接触させ、酸化セルロースナノファイバーの第1の金属のイオンの少なくとも一部、好ましくは全部を、第2の金属のイオンで置換する(金属置換工程)。
次いで、任意に、上記金属置換工程で得られた、第2の金属を塩の形で含有する含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーを、洗浄し(洗浄工程)、さらに、必要に応じて分散媒中で分散させることによって(分散工程)、第2の金属を塩の形で含有し、かつ、数平均繊維径が100nm以下である含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーを得る。
そして、金属置換工程において使用し得る上記第1の金属を塩の形で含有する酸化セルロースナノファイバーとしては、セルロースを酸化して得られ、かつ、第1の金属を塩の形で含有するものであれば、例えば、国際公開第2011/074301号に開示されているもの等、任意の酸化セルロースナノファイバーを使用することができる。中でも、第1の金属を塩の形で含有する酸化セルロースナノファイバーとしては、第1の金属を塩の形で含有するカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーを用いることが好ましい。カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーを使用すれば、分散性に優れる含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーを得ることができるからである。
なお、酸化反応の効率を高めてカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーの生産性を高める観点からは、単離、精製された天然セルロースには、叩解等の表面積を拡大する処理を施してもよい。また、天然セルロースは、単離、精製の後、未乾燥状態で保存したものを用いることが好ましい。未乾燥状態で保存することで、ミクロフィブリルの集束体を膨潤しやすい状態に保持することができるので、酸化反応の効率を高めるとともに、繊維径の細いカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーを得やすくなる。
なお、第2の金属の塩として銅の塩を用いて得た含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバー(含銅酸化セルロースナノファイバー)は、硫化水素に対する消臭性に特に優れている。
金属置換工程の後に任意に実施される洗浄工程では、例えば遠心分離と、上澄み液を洗浄液で置換する操作との繰り返し、或いは、ろ過および多量の洗浄液での洗浄等の公知の洗浄方法を用いて金属置換後の酸化セルロースナノファイバーを洗浄する。
分散工程では、第2の金属を塩の形で含有する酸化セルロースナノファイバーを、家庭用ミキサー、超音波ホモジナイザー、高圧ホモジナイザー、二軸混練り装置、石臼等の既知の分散装置(解繊装置)を用いて分散させる。そして、必要に応じて遠心分離などを用いて未解繊成分を除去して、含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの分散液を得る。
なお、含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの数平均繊維長は、例えば、原料として使用する天然セルロースの数平均繊維長や酸化処理条件、酸化処理後のカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーを分散(解繊)させる条件や、金属置換工程後に分散(解繊)させる条件を変更することによって調整することができる。具体的には、分散処理(解繊処理)の時間を長くすれば、数平均繊維長を短くすることができる。
なお、含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの平均重合度は、例えば、原料として使用する天然セルロースの平均重合度や酸化処理条件、酸化処理後のカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーを分散(解繊)させる条件、金属置換工程後に分散(解繊)させる条件などを変更することにより調整することができる。
第二の製造方法では、最初に、第1の金属を塩の形で含有する酸化セルロースナノファイバーを、溶媒に分散させた状態で、強酸と接触させ、酸化セルロースナノファイバーの第1の金属のイオンの少なくとも一部、好ましくは全部を、水素原子に置換する(水素置換工程)。次に、任意に、水素置換工程で得られた酸化セルロースナノファイバーを、洗浄し(第一の洗浄工程)、更に分散媒中で分散させる(第一の分散工程)。その後、第1の金属のイオンを水素原子に置換した酸化セルロースナノファイバーを、溶媒に分散させた状態で、第2の金属の塩と接触させ、水素置換工程で導入された水素原子および水素原子で置換されなかった第1の金属のイオンの少なくとも一部、好ましくは全部を、第2の金属のイオンで置換する(金属置換工程)。その後、任意に、金属置換工程で得られた、第2の金属を塩の形で含有する含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーを、洗浄し(第二の洗浄工程)、更に、必要に応じて分散媒中で分散させることにより(第二の分散工程)、第2の金属を塩の形で含有し、かつ、数平均繊維径が100nm以下である含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーを得る。
なお、この第二の製造方法では、水素置換工程を経てから金属置換工程を実施しているので、上述した第一の製造方法(第1の金属を第2の金属で直接置換する方法)と比較すると、第1の金属が第2の金属で置換される割合を高めることができる。
ここで、水素置換工程において、第1の金属を塩の形で含有する酸化セルロースナノファイバーとしては、上述した第一の製造方法と同様の酸化セルロースナノファイバーを用いることができる。
水素置換工程の後、任意に実施される第一の洗浄工程では、例えば遠心分離と、上澄み液を洗浄液で置換する操作との繰り返し、或いは、ろ過および多量の洗浄液での洗浄等の公知の洗浄方法を用いて水素置換後の酸化セルロースナノファイバーを洗浄し、強酸を除去する。このように、第一の洗浄工程を実施すれば、強酸を除去し、後述する金属置換工程において、カルボン酸型のカルボキシル基が残存するのを抑制することができる。その結果、金属置換工程において、水素置換工程で導入された水素原子および水素原子で置換されなかった第1の金属のイオンを第2の金属イオンで十分に置換することができる。
第一の分散工程では、カルボキシル基がカルボン酸型に置換された酸化セルロースナノファイバーを、水などの分散媒中に分散させて、第1の金属のイオンが水素原子で置換された酸化セルロースナノファイバーの分散液を得る。なお、第一の分散工程では、カルボキシル基がカルボン酸型に置換された酸化セルロースナノファイバーは、既知の分散装置(解繊装置)等を用いて分散媒中に完全に分散する必要はない。
第二の製造方法の金属置換工程は、第1の金属のイオンを水素原子に置換した酸化セルロースナノファイバーと第2の金属の塩とを接触させること以外は、前述した第一の製造方法の金属置換工程と同様にして実施することができる。そして、第二の製造方法の金属置換工程の好適な態様も、第一の製造方法の金属置換工程の好適な態様と同様である。
また、第二の製造方法における第二の洗浄工程および第二の分散工程は、前述した第一の製造方法の洗浄工程および分散工程と同様にして実施することができる。更に、第二の製造方法の第二の洗浄工程および第二の分散工程の好適な態様も、第一の製造方法の洗浄工程および分散工程の好適な態様と同様である。
数平均繊維長が50nm以上であれば、含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーを用いて形成した成形品を消臭剤として用いる際に、当該成形品に十分に高い機械的強度を付与することができるからである。また、数平均繊維長が2000nm以下であれば、含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの分散性を確保し、分散液を十分に高濃度化することができるからである。
なお、第2の金属を塩の形で含有する含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの数平均繊維長は、例えば、原料として使用する天然セルロースの数平均繊維長や酸化処理条件、酸化処理後のカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーを分散(解繊)させる条件や、金属置換工程後に第2の金属を塩の形で含有する酸化セルロースナノファイバーを分散(解繊)させる条件を変更することにより調整することができる。具体的には、分散処理(解繊処理)の時間を長くすれば、数平均繊維長を短くすることができる。
なお、含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの平均重合度は、例えば、原料として使用する天然セルロースの平均重合度や酸化処理条件、酸化処理後のカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーを分散(解繊)させる条件、金属置換工程後に分散(解繊)させる条件などを変更することにより調整することができる。
上述した製造方法を用いて製造されうる消臭剤は、優れた消臭性を発揮する、数平均繊維径が100nm以下の含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーを含んでいる。具体的には、上述した製造方法を用いて製造されうる消臭剤としては、数平均繊維径が100nm以下、好ましくは2nm以上10nm以下、更に好ましくは2nm以上5nm以下の含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーが水などの分散媒中に分散してなるスプレー式の消臭剤や、上記数平均繊維径の含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの集合体(例えば、膜または不織布等)よりなる消臭剤や、上記数平均繊維径の含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーが水などの分散媒中に分散してなる分散液を成形品の上に塗布し、乾燥した消臭剤、上記数平均繊維径の含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーとポリマー等との複合材料を成形して得られる成形品よりなる消臭剤、上記数平均繊維径の含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーが水などの分散媒中に分散してなる分散液を繊維や紙等へ含浸させた消臭剤等が挙げられる。
そして、この消臭剤は、一本一本の酸化セルロースナノファイバーに対して効果的に金属を塩の形で含有させた含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーを使用しているので、優れた消臭性能を発揮する。
なお、中でも、銅を塩の形で含有する含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバー(含銅酸化セルロースナノファイバー)は、硫化水素に対して特に優れた消臭性能を発揮する。
なお、本実施例において、酸化セルロースナノファイバーのカルボキシル基量、並びに、含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの数平均繊維径、数平均繊維長、重合度、金属量および消臭性能は、それぞれ以下の方法を使用して評価した。
乾燥重量を精秤した酸化セルロースナノファイバーのパルプ試料から酸化セルロースナノファイバーの濃度が0.5~1質量%の分散液を60mL調製した。次に、0.1Mの塩酸によって分散液のpHを約2.5とした後、0.05Mの水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を滴下して、pHが11になるまでの電気伝導度の変化を観測した。そして、電気伝導度の変化が緩やかな弱酸の中和段階において消費された水酸化ナトリウム量(V)から、下式を用いて酸化セルロースナノファイバー中のカルボキシル基量を算出した。

<数平均繊維径>
含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバー分散液を希釈して含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの濃度が0.0001%の分散液を調製した。その後、得られた分散液をマイカ上に滴下し、乾燥させて観察試料とした。そして、原子間力顕微鏡(Dimension FastScan AFM、BRUKER社製、Tapping mode)を使用して観察試料を観察し、含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーが確認できる画像において、含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバー5本以上の繊維径を測定し、平均値を算出した。
<数平均繊維長>
含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバー分散液を希釈して含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの濃度が0.0001%の分散液を調製した。その後、得られた分散液をマイカ上に滴下し、乾燥させて観察試料とした。そして、原子間力顕微鏡(Dimension FastScan AFM、BRUKER社製、Tapping mode)を使用して観察試料を観察し、含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーが確認できる画像において、含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバー5本以上の繊維長を測定し、平均値を算出した。
<重合度>
調製した含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーを水素化ホウ素ナトリウムで還元し、分子中に残存しているアルデヒド基をアルコールに還元した。その後、還元処理を施した含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーを0.5Mの銅エチレンジアミン溶液に溶解させ、粘度法にて重合度を求めた。具体的には、「Isogai,A.,Mutoh,N.,Onabe,F.,Usuda,M.,“Viscosity measurements of cellulose/SO2-amine-dimethylsulfoxide solution”, Sen’i Gakkaishi, 45, 299-306 (1989).」に準拠して、重合度を求めた。
なお、水素化ホウ素ナトリウムを用いた還元処理は、アルデヒド基が残存していた場合に銅エチレンジアミン溶液への溶解過程でベータ脱離反応が起こって分子量が低下するのを防止するために行ったものである。
<金属量>
ICP-AES法により、含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバー中の金属を定性および定量した。なお、測定にはSPS5100(SIIナノテクノロジー製)を用いた。また、イオンクロマトグラフ法により、各イオンの量を定量した。なお、測定には、DX500(DIONEX製)を用いた。
そして、各測定結果から、酸化セルロースナノファイバーのカルボキシル基と塩を形成している金属の量を求めた。
<消臭性能>
調製した含金属カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液(またはTEMPO触媒酸化パルプ水分散液)を、濾紙(ADVANTEC製、定性濾紙No.2、φ150mm)一面に均一に滴下(塗布)した後、その濾紙を105℃のオーブンに入れ乾燥した。ろ紙上に担持されたセルロースナノファイバー(またはTEMPO触媒酸化パルプ)は、2mgであった。その濾紙を容量5Lのサンプリングバッグ(ジーエルサイエンス社製、スマートバッグ、PA、5L、型式AA)に入れた。
サンプリングバッグ中の空気を真空ポンプで抜いた後、アンモニアに対する消臭性能を評価する時はアンモニア濃度が97質量ppmの窒素・アンモニア混合ガス、メチルメルカプタンに対する消臭性能を評価する時はメチルメルカプタン濃度が58質量ppmの窒素・メチルメルカプタン混合ガス、硫化水素に対する消臭性能を評価する時は硫化水素濃度が54質量ppmの窒素・硫化水素混合ガスを1L作製し、それぞれのガスをサンプリングバッグに注入し、ゴム栓で栓をした。そのサンプリングバッグを室温で放置し、ガス封入から30分後、60分後、180分後のサンプリングバッグ内のアンモニア、メチルメルカプタンもしくは硫化水素の濃度を検知管(ガステック社製)で測定した。さらに、物理吸着における、加温時のガスの再発散を確認するため、サンプリングバッグを40℃のオーブンに1時間入れ、1時間後にオーブンから取り出して、アンモニア、メチルメルカプタンもしくは硫化水素の濃度(質量ppm)を測定した。
(発明例1)
<酸化セルロースナノファイバー分散液の調製>
乾燥重量で1g相当分の針葉樹漂白クラフトパルプ、5mmolの次亜塩素酸ナトリウム、0.1g(1mmol)の臭化ナトリウムおよび0.016g(1mmol)のTEMPOを100mLの水に分散させ、室温で4時間穏やかに撹拌し、蒸留水で洗浄することで、TEMPO触媒酸化パルプ(酸化セルロース)を得た。なお、得られたTEMPO触媒酸化パルプのカルボキシル基量は、1.4mmol/gであった。
その後、未乾燥のTEMPO触媒酸化パルプに蒸留水を加え、固形分濃度0.1%の水分散液を調製した。そして、水分散液に、ホモジナイザー(マイクロテック・ニチオン製、ヒスコトロン)を使用して7.5×1000rpmで2分間、超音波ホモジナイザー(nissei製、Ultrasonic Generator)を使用し、容器の周りを氷で冷やしながら、V-LEVEL4、TIP26Dで4分間の解繊処理を施すことで、酸化セルロースナノファイバーとしてカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーを含む水分散液を得た。その後、カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液から、遠心分離機(SAKUMA製、M201-1VD、アングルローター50F-8AL)を使用した遠心分離(12000G(120×100rpm/g)、10分間、12℃)により未解繊成分を取り除き、透明な液体である濃度0.1%のカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液を得た。なお、カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーは、共酸化剤由来のナトリウム(第1の金属)を塩の形で含有していた。
<水素置換した酸化セルロースナノファイバー分散液の調製>
100mLのカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液に対し、撹拌下で1Mの塩酸1mLを加えてpHを1に調整した。そして、60分間撹拌を継続した(水素置換工程)。
その後、塩酸の添加によりゲル化したカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーを遠心分離(12000G)により回収し、回収したカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーを1Mの塩酸および多量の蒸留水で順次洗浄した(第一の洗浄工程)。
次に、100mLの蒸留水を加え、水素置換されたカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーが分散した濃度0.1%の水素置換カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液を得た(第一の分散工程)。なお、水素置換されたカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーの表面のカルボキシル基は、Biomacromolecules (2011年,第12巻,第518-522ページ)に従いFT-IR(日本分光製、FT/IR-6100)で測定したところ、90%以上がカルボン酸型に置換されていた。
<含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバー分散液の調製>
上記濃度0.1%の水素置換カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液50gを撹拌し、そこへ濃度0.1%の酢酸銅(II)水溶液18gを加え、室温で3時間撹拌を継続した(金属置換工程)。その後、酢酸銅(II)水溶液の添加によりゲル化したカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーを遠心分離機(SAKUMA製、M201-1VD、アングルローター50F-8AL)を使用して遠心分離(12000G(120×100rpm/g)、10分間、12℃)により回収した後、濃度0.1%の酢酸銅(II)水溶液にて回収したセルロースナノファイバーを洗浄し、次に、回収したセルロースナノファイバーを多量の蒸留水で洗浄した(洗浄工程)。
その後、50mLの蒸留水を加え、超音波ホモジナイザー(nissei製、Ultrasonic Generator)を使用し、容器の周りを氷で冷やしながら、V-LEVEL4、TIP26Dで超音波処理(2分間)を行うことで、銅で置換されたカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーを分散させた。その後、銅で置換されたカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液から、遠心分離機(SAKUMA製、M201-1VD、アングルローター50F-8AL)を使用した遠心分離(12000G(120×100rpm/g)、10分間、12℃)により未解繊成分を取り除き、透明な液体である濃度0.1%の含金属カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液を得た(分散工程)。
<含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの性能評価>
2枚の偏光板をクロスニコルの状態に配し、反対側から光を当て、その偏光板の間で含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液を揺らすと複屈折を観測できた。これにより、含金属カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーが水中で良好に分散していることが確認された。また、AFMによる画像から、含金属カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーは数平均繊維径が3.13nmで、ミクロフィブリルレベルまで水中で分散していることが確認できた。なお、複屈折と分散性との関係については、国際公開第2009/069641号等に開示されている。
更に、SPS5100(SIIナノテクノロジー製)のICP-AES測定による測定の結果、得られた含金属カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーには、銅(Cu)がカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーのカルボキシル基のモル量の1/2の割合で存在しており、ナトリウムの量は1質量ppm以下であることが分かった。また、DX500(DIONEX製)を用いたイオンクロマトグラフ法によるイオン量の定量の結果、酢酸イオン量が0.5質量ppm以下、塩素イオン量が0.1質量ppm以下であることが分かった。そして、これらの結果より、上記含金属カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーでは、カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーのナトリウムイオンが銅イオンで置換されており、カルボキシル基2つに対して1個の銅イオンが結合していると推察される。
なお、上記含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの数平均繊維長は550nmであった。また、含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの平均重合度は600であった。
評価結果を発明例1として表1に示す。
<酸化セルロースナノファイバー分散液の調製>
発明例1と同様にして濃度0.1%のカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液を得た。
<水素置換した酸化セルロースナノファイバー分散液の調製>

<含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバー分散液の調製>
金属置換工程において、上記濃度0.1%の水素置換カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液50gを撹拌し、そこへ濃度0.1%の酢酸亜鉛(II)水溶液19.5gを加えて、室温で3時間撹拌を継続した(金属置換工程)。その後、酢酸亜鉛(II)水溶液の添加によりゲル化したカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーを遠心分離機(SAKUMA製、M201-1VD、アングルローター50F-8AL)を使用して遠心分離(12000G(120×100rpm/g)、10分間、12℃)により回収した後、濃度0.1%の酢酸亜鉛(II)水溶液にて回収したセルロースナノファイバーを洗浄し、次に、回収したセルロースナノファイバーを多量の蒸留水で洗浄した(洗浄工程)。

<水分散液の調製>

更に、回収したTEMPO触媒酸化パルプを多量の蒸留水で洗浄した後、50mLの蒸留水を加えて、濃度0.1%のTEMPO触媒酸化パルプ水分散液を得た(分散工程)。

含金属カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液を用いずに、濾紙(ADVANTEC製、定性濾紙No.2、φ150mm)のみを、105℃のオーブンに入れて乾燥した。その濾紙を、前記アンモニアに対する消臭性能を評価する方法に供した。
すなわち、この比較例は、含金属カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液を使用せずに、濾紙のアンモニアに対する消臭性能を評価したものである。
評価結果を比較例2として表1に示す。

発明例1で得られた含金属カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液をスプレー状の消臭剤として用いて、前記消臭性能を評価する方法に従いメチルメルカプタンに対する消臭性能を評価した。
評価結果を発明例3として表2に示す。

上記濃度0.1%のカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液50gを撹拌し、そこへ銅の塩の水溶液として濃度0.1%の酢酸銅(II)水溶液18gを加え、室温で3時間撹拌を継続した(金属置換工程)。その後、酢酸銅(II)水溶液の添加によりゲル化したカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーを遠心分離機(SAKUMA製、M201-1VD、アングルローター50F-8AL)を使用して遠心分離(12000G(120×100rpm/g)、10分間、12℃)により回収した後、濃度0.1%の酢酸銅(II)水溶液にて回収したセルロースナノファイバーを洗浄し、次に、回収したセルロースナノファイバーを多量の蒸留水で洗浄した(洗浄工程)。

2枚の偏光板をクロスニコルの状態に配し、反対側から光を当て、その偏光板の間で含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液を揺らすと複屈折を観測できた。これにより、含金属カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーが水中で良好に分散していることが確認された。また、AFMによる画像から、含金属カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーは数平均繊維径が3.13nmで、ミクロフィブリルレベルまで水中で分散していることが確認できた。なお、複屈折と分散性との関係については、国際公開第2009/069641号等に開示されている。
更に、SPS5100(SIIナノテクノロジー製)のICP-AES測定による測定の結果、得られた含金属カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーには、銅(Cu)がカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーのカルボキシル基のモル量の1/2の割合で存在しており、ナトリウムの量は1質量ppm以下であることが分かった。また、DX500(DIONEX製)を用いたイオンクロマトグラフ法によるイオン量の定量の結果、酢酸イオン量が0.5質量ppm以下であることが分かった。そして、これらの結果より、含金属カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーでは、カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーのナトリウムイオンが銅イオンで置換されており、カルボキシル基2つに対して1個の銅イオンが結合していると推察される。
なお、上記含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの数平均繊維長は550nmであった。また、含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの平均重合度は600であった。
<酸化セルロースナノファイバー分散液の調製>
発明例6と同様の手順で分散液を調製し、固形分濃度0.1%の水分散液を調製した。
<含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液の調製>
金属置換工程において、上記濃度0.1%の水分散液50gを撹拌し、そこへ濃度0.1%の酢酸銅(II)水溶液18gを加えて、室温で3時間撹拌を継続した。次いで、そのゲル化した含金属酸化カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーを遠心分離(12000G)により回収した後、濃度0.1%の酢酸銅(II)水溶液にて、回収したゲル化した含金属酸化カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーを洗浄した(洗浄工程)。
更に、回収したゲル化した含金属酸化カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーを多量の蒸留水で洗浄した後、50mLの蒸留水を加えて、濃度0.1%の含金属酸化カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液を得た(分散工程)。
<ゲル化した含金属酸化カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーの性能評価>
SPS5100(SIIナノテクノロジー製)のICP-AES測定による測定の結果、得られたゲル化した含金属酸化カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーには、銅(Cu)がカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーのカルボキシル基のモル量の1/2の割合で存在しており、ナトリウムの量は1質量ppm以下であることが分かった。また、DX500(DIONEX製)を用いたイオンクロマトグラフ法によるイオン量の定量の結果、酢酸イオン量が0.5質量ppm以下であることが分かった。そして、これらの結果より、ゲル化した含金属酸化カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーでは、ゲル化した含金属酸化カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー中のナトリウムイオンが銅イオンで置換されており、カルボキシル基2つに対して1個の銅イオンが結合していると推察される。
なお、上記ゲル化した含金属酸化カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーの数平均繊維径は20μmであり、数平均繊維長は1mmであった。また、ゲル化した含金属酸化カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーの平均重合度は再凝集していたため測定できなかった。
比較例12として、比較例2と同じ手順により、含金属カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液を使用せずに、濾紙の硫化水素に対する消臭性能を評価した。
評価結果を比較例12として表4に示す。
比較例13として、比較例3と同じ手順により、含金属カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバー水分散液を使用しないサンプリングバッグ自体の硫化水素に対する消臭性能を評価した。なお、サンプリングバッグ中の硫化水素は濃度を54質量ppmとした。
評価結果を比較例13として表4に示す。
Claims (19)
- ナトリウム以外の金属を塩の形で含有し且つ数平均繊維径が100nm以下である含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーを含む、消臭剤。
- 前記含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーが含金属カルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーである、請求項1に記載の消臭剤。
- 前記含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの数平均繊維長が50nm以上2000nm以下の範囲である、請求項1または2に記載の消臭剤。
- 前記含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの平均重合度が100以上2000以下の範囲である、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の消臭剤。
- 前記ナトリウム以外の金属が、長周期表における第2族~第14族かつ第3周期~第6周期の金属から選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の消臭剤。
- 前記ナトリウム以外の金属が、マグネシウム、アルミニウム、カルシウム、チタン、クロム、マンガン、鉄、コバルト、ニッケル、銅、亜鉛、銀、錫、バリウムおよび鉛よりなる群から選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載の消臭剤。
- 前記ナトリウム以外の金属が、アルミニウム、カルシウム、鉄、コバルト、銅、亜鉛および銀よりなる群から選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の消臭剤。
- 分散媒を更に含み、
前記含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーが前記分散媒中に分散している、請求項1~7のいずれか1項に記載の消臭剤。 - 前記分散媒が水である、請求項8に記載の消臭剤。
- 第1の金属を塩の形で含有する酸化セルロースナノファイバーを、溶媒に分散させた状態で、前記第1の金属以外の第2の金属の塩と接触させ、前記第2の金属を塩の形で含有し且つ数平均繊維径が100nm以下の含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーを作製する工程を有する、消臭剤の製造方法。
- 第1の金属を塩の形で含有する酸化セルロースナノファイバーを、溶媒に分散させた状態で、強酸と接触させ、塩の形で含まれる前記第1の金属のイオンを水素原子に置換する工程と、
前記第1の金属のイオンを水素原子に置換した酸化セルロースナノファイバーを、溶媒に分散させた状態で、前記第1の金属以外の第2の金属の塩と接触させ、前記第2の金属を塩の形で含有し且つ数平均繊維径が100nm以下の含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーを作製する工程と、
を有する、消臭剤の製造方法。 - 前記酸化セルロースナノファイバーがカルボキシル化セルロースナノファイバーである、請求項10または11に記載の消臭剤の製造方法。
- 前記含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの数平均繊維長が50nm以上2000nm以下である、請求項10~12のいずれか1項に記載の消臭剤の製造方法。
- 前記含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーの平均重合度が100以上2000以下である、請求項10~13のいずれか1項に記載の消臭剤の製造方法。
- 前記第1の金属がナトリウムであり、
前記第2の金属が、長周期表における第2族~第14族かつ第3周期~第6周期の金属から選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項10~14のいずれか1項に記載の消臭剤の製造方法。 - 前記第1の金属がナトリウムであり、
前記第2の金属が、マグネシウム、アルミニウム、カルシウム、チタン、クロム、マンガン、鉄、コバルト、ニッケル、銅、亜鉛、銀、錫、バリウムおよび鉛よりなる群から選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項10~15のいずれか1項に記載の消臭剤の製造方法。 - 前記第1の金属がナトリウムであり、
前記第2の金属が、アルミニウム、カルシウム、鉄、コバルト、銅、亜鉛および銀よりなる群から選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項10~16のいずれか1項に記載の消臭剤の製造方法。 - 更に、前記含金属酸化セルロースナノファイバーを、分散媒に分散させる工程を有する、請求項10~17のいずれか1項に記載の消臭剤の製造方法。
- 前記分散媒が水である、請求項18に記載の消臭剤の製造方法。
